ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I think Aloisi's problems have more to do with the playing environment than going from being a good player to a crap player in the space of a few months. I think he *probably* would score goals again if he came back here.

But we've replaced those goals for a lot less money, and with younger talent we can develop. So you wouldn't take him back for those reasons.

Would you take the financial risk of taking him back though?

I mean, you could be right, and his lack of goals could be due to poor playing and team environment..  but seriously, would you want to hand over a wad of cash based on a hunch?

Risky I reckon.

and I come a lot cheaper my friend ;)

Anyway the discussion about Aloi$i coming back is moot - no dickhead policy. He wouldn't even pass the somewhat less stringent no Brendan Renuads policy.

Re: Aloisi and Shenghua.

Is it possible for Sydney FC to offer him on transfer to Shenghua without Aloisi's consent?

I know that a club could put a player on the market, Sydney did that with Yorke didn't they? Could they, however, just negotiate - club to club - for a transfer of a player without the player having any say, or having the market tested?

To forcibly transfer someone over to China - it does seem a bit over the top. Whether the Chinese club would want Aloisi though is another issue.

Sorry for the stupid questions. Just not sure where a player stands with their rights, in all this.

Tick tock you greedy f**k.

WHETHER he likes it or not, John Aloisi may have already played his last game for Sydney FC.

The A-League's most expensive signing at a reported $1.2 million a season is destined not to fulfil his two-year contract at Sydney.

It is understood Aloisi is under enormous pressure to terminate his contract at the season's end as Sydney boss John Kosmina battles to save his own job.

Kosmina is in the line of fire after Sydney went down 2-0 to Adelaide United at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.

Aloisi is irrepairably damaged goods, meaning no A-League club would want to take him on, and would many clubs abroad dare to?

I wonder how many subscribe to the theory that the Mariners extracted the last good drops out of John Aloisi, and that Kosmina deep down realises this like most people, but has been under pressure from the clueless higher-ups at SFC to try and make it work anyway? Painfully clear to see how without him, Sydney were a much better side in the first three rounds of the season.

Well no one in Europe wanted him and thats why he came home.

Last season for us was a blip if you look at his overall record

Club games = 398
Goals =107

Thats an average of about 1 every 4 games whereas for us it was nearer 50/50

On the flip side-
- his goals kept Portsmouth up in Division One in the late 90s, although there was the odd decent player like Alan McLoughlin to help out
- he scored twice for Coventry at Villa Park
- at Osasuna he was part of a side that held their own in La Liga, albeit an extremely defensively-minded one

Not saying he's had a brilliant club career, but certainly better than some ex-Socceroos strikers.

would be stupid to take him back,
CCM seems by all reporting, are probably in the
best financial situation of any A league club, probably
on par with AUFC, bolstered by the fee jedi provided.
i still love watching replays of the Aus Jap game in 06 and
the way cahill turned then inside out, and also the way
aloisi hit the pedal on the 3rd, but as has been said,
was 3 years ago, and were rapidly approaching 2010
just let him run (most likely injured) into his own twilight
and invest in our own talent

If Aloshitty does leave Bling, he will go to the Sheep shaggers. They have just lost Smeltz and need a striker.

This thread is getting tiresome. Why the sheer hatred? He's not the first player to leave the Club for better $$$$ elsewhere.

He was a model professional while he was with us, and scored his fair quota of goals. I think this hatred is so over-the-top it's bordering on bizzare.

Joel Griffiths is a much better target. :vomit:

1. reasons for leaving - same as most players
2. comments about leaving - I've read nothing that didn't make sense. Please enlighten me.
3. disrespectful celebrations - you reap what you sow. He's done nothing our of the ordinary. We gave him heaps - he responded - not with the class of Bozza with the Sydney FC fans, but not too bad. To me Bridges mocking of the Mariners fans after scoring his goal at last year's Grand Final was far worse.

Sorry, still not convinced Aloisi deserves such a long thread!
