Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The official Aloisi is a disrespectful arrogant f**kwit of a human being thread

Owns property on the Gold Coast doesnt he?

Yep - one of the reasons people thought he'd stay with us till GCU were in the league.

There was an article somewhere that said he purchased in Terrigal - probably in some dodgy express newspaper

Bearinator and clarence are right on the money regarding Sydney FC. They are clearly victims of their own hype, taking for granted they will be a powerhouse in the league when they are failing both on and off the field. Apart from a lucky Grand Final win, they have achieved nothing on the field while off the field they have failed to capture the imagination of their city, and fail even to retain the loyalty of some fans who've shown a willingness to jump simply because the club fails in every critical respect.

NO club has the right to proclaim itself a glamour club, or whatnot, in this league because none of them have earned it yet. This is something that clubs have to earn over decades of sustained success. That's how all the powerhouse clubs in every other league out there earned their status, and even that can be withered away by bad decisions (as I only know too well :().

Can anyone argue that John Aloisi has been a victim of a number of circumstances which have led to his form and it would seem his ability deserting him? In a short season, a fair amount of time with injury makes it a lot harder than it would in a longer season. He did the job for the Mariners but his injury problems were evident at the end of the season, that led to him missing pre-season.

Or here's another thing- look at big money failures such as Justin Fashanu, Garry Birtles, Peter Davenport, etc who all did the job at one club then turned to rubbish when they made the move for big bucks. Has that same syndrome affected Aloisi?

I could argue that yes, he has been a victim of the circumstances that brought him to Sydney FC. But he chose the high profile announcement, the press conference, the bling attitude that went with that.

And all while he knew & the club knew too, that he'd had to undergo an op on his knee and recovery time was going to mess up his pre season.

To top that, playing with a bunch of new team mates, in a new club, new city etc. that first pre season should have been where he worked out how he would have fitted in (but he never got on the training paddock til the season had started).

So, yes, in some ways, Aloisi is a victim of the need to have surgery on his knee and recover at a time he should have been making himself an integral part of a newish team.

But he has not, and the club hasn't either, made the excuse that his lack of pre season training with the team was going to impact on his ability on the field during the season. Maybe not til now that he's proven less than the hero everyone thought he'd be.

Those two misses he made vs. Perth were unforgivable for someone of his touted talent. Miss one in a game, maybe, but two, no. I know that's a hard marking report card, but let's face it, he isn't playing for the local Saturday arvo Christian comp., he's supposedly a Socceroos legend, a man renown for scoring goals etc. Those misses do show how out of form he is. They were both gifts for someone at this level, and he stuffed them up.

Sadly, he needs a run - and a full 90 at that- in the NYL. Give him some less experienced defenders to play against and see how he goes. He should cream them and smash in every opportunity that comes his way. Then when he has gotten his confidence back spanking kiddies all around the park, and giving reserve goalies nightmares, give him a recall.

He may get hacked a bit, but he needs gametime, and a return to confidence, and you would have to consider a drop in grade to get that back, because at the A-League level he is being isolated easily, and better defenders are marking him out of the game. Our Pedj made mince meat out of him for most of the match vs Mariners.

Will Sydney drop their marquee to NYL? It's a big call, but it depends on how Kossie and Aloisi himself, view the current situation and what they believe is the important issues here. If they are more concerned about 'saving face' and preserving their respective egos then it won't happen and  Aloisi will go on struiggling this season as a parody of himself from seasons' past.

I only saw one replay and may be wrong, but was the second miss the result of Aloisi trying to use his left foot? How can some of these players call themselves professionals if they can't even *tap* a ball in with their weaker foot (let alone shoot)?. Honestly, I was a average player in my time but at least I could score goals with either foot FFS. Caceres also guilty of this on the weekend.

It was also the sign of a confused mind lacking all confidence.

I'm even starting to feel abit sorry for the prick.

Not to worry mate, you'll get over it.

I'm sure he is weeping all the way to the bank.

He set himself up for this by mouthing off (big club, win things etc) so f**k him

Are we sure he isn't still a mariner at heart?

Signs as Sack me fc Marquee knowing surgery will feck his season and possibly his career.
Ties up Sack me fc Marquee spot for two years.
Takes 1.4 million from Sack me fc in the process
We lose the only game against season without loloisi.
Majority of goals in our draw comes after loloisi comes onto the pitch
All goals in our 2-1 win comes while loloisi is on the pitch.
After we lose to the nix he bombs chances giving Perth the win and keeping us in the four.

The only thing he seems to have done is score that penalty against us, which he tried to let Danny save. Pedj of course hasn't played with loloisi and stuffed up that plan forcing loloisi to slot the second attempt and remind us that he is really looking out for us by pointing to his name.

;) ;) ;)

Usually it's better to go with the foot nearer to the ball if you can get it there on time. I think both in Aloisi's and Carney's cases they were thinking left, realised they weren't going to make it, switched their thinking to their right, and by that time the ball had rolled past, with them doing nothing but a 'pants jig'.

In both those cases they could have scored with either foot, or just by falling in front of the ball, if they had just decided and committed to one or the other. Aloisi's mind obviously isn't where it needs to be to score goals.

I swear the Sydney v Perth match was the funniest game I have ever seen.  All of Sydney had their clown shoes on.  From Golec to Middleby to Aloi$i, all of them in on the joke.  Even the fans that stormed out at the 60th minute mark made me laugh.  The comedy continued from the Cove when they booed their marquee player and awesome role model of a coach.  I can't wait to see what antics Bondi FC come up with this week!  Don't look for the game on Fox Sports, it'll be shown on the Comedy channel.

Guess it was a case of trying to over-ride the natural instincts and not quite making it.

JA really needs to watch and learn from two of the best finishers in the game - Golec and Middleby.

Tbf, it was a screamer of a header from Middleby.  Just, y'know, the wrong way.  And the wrong end.

So so wrong.
