HEFFO with the nutmeg!!!!!!

congrats to them both  :p ;)

I  was at the rosemount and had 4 free pints brought for me cause the mariners are now adelaides hero's.

Does this mean we have to sit thru another 2 weeks of average(at best) performances until we fire up enough to play that good again.

Lol at the adelaide media coverage of melbourne getting owned. It appears to be getting as much coverage as an actuall adelaide game far more then most non reds games  :piralaugh:

Ernie is crazy if he doesn't drop Moss. He's been terrible.

but was fantastic at the nix ???, hence his signing, victory forum arent a fan.

Re:mrdja goal, has to be his by logic, but he didnt have to think about it, if he keeps thinking out of it he might again bag a hatrick.  :piralaugh:

Fantastic performance from all involved and massive credit to Lawrie and Alex for such an well drilled display.
Defensively we were superb and Tobin deserves massive kudos for the turn around in discipline and organisation this year.
Danny was superb and some of his saves were world class....best shot stopper in HAL.  9.
Porter.  Great effort and put Melbourne under pressure all night. 7.5.
Boogs.  Looks Socceroo standard right now. Quality. 9
Wilko.  Great game. Very assured. 8.5
Heff.  Top game. 8
Travis.  His extra bit of quality really showed and allowed us to grow in confidence and slowly start to dominate the game.  Workrate was fantastic. 9
Hutcho.  Midfield general.  Very good game. 8
Bojic.  Like a human whirlwind.  Non stop effort and too much for Victory to handle.8
WeeMatt.  Wow what a great debut.  Never overawed and fantastic shot. 7.5
Simon.  Lovely game and really enjoyed himself.  What a handful. 8
Kwas.  Brilliant finish on first goal.  Worked hard and very brave. 8

All subs were excellent.

Disco looked up for it.  Elrich was excellent and Clarky did brilliantly to set up 4th goal. If Clarkey attacked the ball like that normally he would be a starting player

I am not Hutch's greatest fan ... but as I said earlier he played with lots of guts and did a lot in the center of the park last night.. I think weeMac & Travis suit his style of play and with an effective defensive center mid he is free to play his more natural game..

In fact I think this is his best season with us to date.. This creates a dilemma as I see it...

Assume Travis as a roving right mid, weeMac in the center, Crowell as the defensive mid .. leaving Hutch as the roving left mid....

My dilemma is Matthew Lewis had an outstanding game as the roving left mid ...

It's hard for me as I said I have never been Hutch's greatest fan .. but I admit this year he is playing very well... So how do we leave a talent like Lewis out of the side and not develop him into a great player .... on the other hand how do you drop a player who's natural game suits the midfield we have...

Actually all mid field positions are under pressure ... assume the first team midfield... Travis, weeMac, Corwell, Hutch.... now the second midfield ... Elrich, Pedj, Huke, Lewis.... and of course Porter as a wide roving mid for either the first or second midfield...

However I feel on form and with the heart he plays how do you drop Hutch... dilemma ... how do you leave out Lewis ...

Tho Lewis had a very solid first game... had a great shot .. has speed is a leftie ... will be pushing now for a first place spot..

I am not a big Hutch fan .. but he played with heaps of guts tonight and weeMac has taught Hutch and the team well ... as I tho Hutch was cool under pressure in the center of the park and played a great game.

Weemac has taught Hutch? fark even when we win 4-0 the guy can't get a break. Hutch has been playing his normal game that he was playing before Mac's arrival. It's only now we have someone to compliment Hutch that the pairing is working between the two.

Great game to watch considering i was in the company of numerous victory supporters.

If only we could play like that at home.

3 - Vukovic
2 - Travis
1 - Wilko

I also said ... meaning this team plays a style that suits Hutch see below .. and I said in other parts this is his best season with us... and yes I think having weeMac and Travis has taught Hutch a lot he is playing a lot better under pressure this year...

As far as Hutch's normal game only in Hal 3 IMO was he one of the best in the side... He has gone up a notch or two this year and whether he always had it and the arrival of Travis & weeMac has brought it out .... BUT when we had Tommy & Grumps in the side Hutch IMO did not play as well as he is now.

From 4-4-2:

"Victory defender Rody Vargas added that Melbourne had allowed the Mariners to bully them like schoolboys, comparing it to a fight between year 12 and year 10 students.

But McKinna believed focusing on his side's work ethic or physicality undersold their football nous.

"I don't think we can outmuscle them, maybe out-thought, maybe he meant intelligence-wise we were two years smarter than them," he quipped of Vargas' assessment."

Gold. Absolute gold! Lawrie easily winning the war of words as well!
