Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

hope our first signing is marta

lol - our whole salary cap goes on one player!

no salary cap in the w-league

most of the girls will be getting paid a big fat zero in the first couple of years

marta wears yellow and likes the beach so the progression to the mariners is natural

According to the local paper it is a pseudo Central Coast Team.

Plays in Sydney (Parramatta and Campbelltown) , trains in Sydney & all of the players live in Sydney. No local players at all as they don't want to travel to Sydney to train and play. In fact they have headed up the F3 to the Jets.

Yeah, noticed this too. A "Mariners-badged team"

I do understand that with most playing for love (of the game, Perm ;)) it might be a big ask to get numbers of appropriate standard players from a much larger drawing base in western Sydney to travel up here for training and home games. Easier to take the show to where they are.

But seems like in the W-League, this is the "second Sydney" (or western Sydney) team. Will the "badge" still have the little "Central Coast" above the "Mariners"?

Will they relocate here when in the future a more viable league becomes fully professional?
Or.... (I dare not even think it).

More chance of getting people to the games of a central coast team, if they are actually on the coast.
Surely Pluim or Mingara would be better suited.

Full W-League Draw: http://www.a-league.com.au/site/_content/document/00000926-source.pdf

First 'home' game for the 'Mariners branded' team is in R2 at Parramatta Stadium at 6pm on Saturday 1st November vs Perth Glory!

Same night as we take on Sydney away at SFS (NYL 4:15, Men 7pm)!

A genius did the fixtures! Who might be left in Sydney with an interest in football wanting to watch, other than family?

Round 1 sees 'us' away in Melbourne:
Melbourne Victory v Central Coast Mariners at Telstra Dome, also on 25 October at 4.00pm AEDT as a curtain-raiser for the Melbourne vs Sydney FC Hyundai A-League match (NYL being played by Victory on other days and venues).

Round 3 is a 'home' game - at Campbelltown - vs Qld Roar (same time as our Men and youth are in Brisbane!!

It really is farked!! Better to have run it as an entirely un-branded comp as there is little connection as far as I can see, for any of the teams.

The Western Sydney Mariners?

Insane that we're playing "home" the same night we play Sydney Away, that's VERY silly, Sydney home games are probably closer than 'Central Coast' home games. I hope no CCMFC money is going into this. They're making it difficult for a Mariners team to succeed in any form in this competition must be running it as a trial for WSU like they are with Canberra.

Would have made that Canberra Parra game if it wasn't a clash

NB. I happen to enjoy women's football, I just don't appreciate this having the same brand as us.

I corrected it after I saw that it was a clash ;)

I wouldn't go to Campbelltown but Parra isn't too bad, problem is they all clash at Parra!

I can't see too many supporters trekking from the Coast to Sydney for the games.

Surely they could have had at least one match on the Central Coast to gauge what local support would be?

The more you look at the fixtures, for all teams, the more designed to fail it appears to be! Quite wierd, even funny, if it wasn't so seriously daft! If I were a Westfield marketing executive I'd be asking questions.
