ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Brilliant strategic move by the FFA.

1) Fastest growing participation sport in Australia

2) Expand the potential HAL fan base by embracing both genders at grass roots level and club comp

3) Other codes cannot compete so its a blue sky opportunity (sorry)

4) More international competition where we can be genuinely competitive and get more media exposure for the code

20 posts and not one comment along the lines of "women shouldnt play sport, they should be in the kitchen"......very disappointing

Interesting to note, unlike what was suggested on this forum in the past, the chunk of money is not for FTA televising, but is unlocked when it happens. So whereas it was suggested the money would go to the televisor eg abc/sbs, it will in fact go directly to the ffa

It was stated on NBN news last night that the Mariners team will play out of Sydney. That must be wrong surely?

I'll flip lids if that's true !

uhm if they played before us though..does that mean we get two matches for the price of one kinda thing ? therefore lose money from ticket sales kinda stuff by having to fork some over to the women ?

I dunno just ran through my head

I'd have to think with the late inception of the W-League that it won't be played on the same day, or at the same venues (Hire, cleaning, staffing, security, etc). Which is a shame, I'd gladly pay a bit more for a 2nd, even 3rd game (YL) though with memberships already out, I don't think this is possible.

Total wages are 150k. If the matches bring more people to the games then it will only become more cost effective to have them played beforehand. Only the likes of us and adelaide could have constraints, but teams like sydney with 40k stadiums, and 15k crowds could use the bonus crowds at their games.

Cant see a cost reason to seperate the two leagues.
