ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners W-League 2008/09

I noticed quite extensive marketing of the W-League in Hornsby Westfield the other day, using MODELS rather than ACTUAL PLAYERS. Imagine if an ad for the Mariners depicted a model with super hair pretending to kick a ball that was photoshopped in afterwards.
I attend Mariners games with my 11yo niece. We're both supportive of the W-League and I think the play is good to watch even if they lack the power of the men (less power = more close passing = more beautiful to watch), but it's almost as if the the W-League did as much as they possibly could to rob the Mariners team of any Central Coast support.
If Bearinator is right and they are to disband, niece and I look forward to better effort next time.

Off to watch and report on W-league Mariners vs Victory in the double header at Parramatta Stadium.

No I won't call them Central Coast either but for now they are 'branded' (ugly word) Mariners.

I look forward to enjoying a different football experience.

I believe it to be critical that the W League is a success. Its a market that NRL/Gay FL etc cant compete in and if girls take up the game, thats another army of supporters in years to come.

Took the opportunity to go to the game and do a relo visit at the same time.  1st time I'd managed to see the girls play.  It was a decent game with a good level of skill (trying not to sound patronising).  Here's hoping with the new mariners centre at Tuggerah the girls will come to the Coast and more people will get to the games.  Don't know how many were there but I tried my best to get some atmosphere.

Well done to the 3 guys who stuck it out in the pouring rain and pretty much shouted, chanted etc for whole the game.

Well done girls on the 2 nil (should have been more).  We played all over them (let's hope that it's an omen and for the seniors when we play Melbourne next).

Looking forward to going to a few more games next season - and hoping a few more people get down to the grounds to cheer the girls on.

Report up:  http://spirit.webcity.com.au/AFN/2008-2009/WWL/WR10-CCvsMV.htm

Well done girls ... first time we have won all 3 (HAL, NYL, WL) in a round.

I very much enjoyed the game, and there were many fans in yellow there to cheer them on. Very young side, who have come on in leaps and bounds.

Let us hope there is a W-League season 2, and that we have a true Mariners team next season.

Now for the finals - Qld are very good, but I fancy an upset by Canberra if they can get past Newcastle in the semi. Sydney were pushed to the wire by wooden spooners Adelaide and should fall to the Qld side in their semi in Brisbane.

I saw the Canberra v Adelaide game a few weeks back. I think Canberra have a great side based on that match.
