Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Alrite, you have all said the closest game is Parra Stadium. If you don't want to support them don't, but get over it.
Thats the thing, I do want to support them but can't.

When the w-leauge gets more money and can afford to hire out Bluetounge they will.

And you know this how?

They won their last game and are equal first. Support them or shut up.
Yes, I was pleased to see they won in Canberra after going down to 10 players. But not as pleased as I would be if I actually felt like they were a Central Coast team. As for shutting up, you've got no hope of me doing that, especially when I'm told to shut up :p

If you all don't rekon this is bagging them, I don't know what is. If people on their own supporters site are being negative how do you think they would feel. I don't care if you all have a go at me or not so say your worst.
Well, I would hope they would harden the f**k up if the above comments upset them. Surely, they would realise the comments relate to the way the competition is organised and not to their committment, playing skills, etc.

If they don't like the fact that I'm complaining that they're not on the Coast, then perhaps they should take that as a compliment. At least I'm not saying something like "f**k off we don't want you here".

I actualty went to watch the girls play in canberra. it was a pretty good game to.

Mariners got lucky, first goal was a defensive blunder (but well poached by the striker) and the second goal was a cross which swun in at a lucky angle.

If canberra learn when to pull the trigger they will be a better side.

at the game i couldnt decide who i wanted to go for, but it was impossible not to cheer when the yellow scored !

Um just to let you know this forum IS NOT, repeat IS NOT a 'supporters site' for the W-League team known as the "Mariners". It's a supporters site for the Central Coast Mariners Football Club and IT'S teams.

As far as I'm concerned, the Mariners W-League side are, (as others have highlighted), just a second team for Sydney. As a lot of people on here would know I'm a strong supporter of womens football, my own daughter has played in State Leagues both in NSW Premier League  and NNSW State League.

But I can't and won't support this 'bogus' "Syd Mach-2 Mariners in disguise" team, this  "Mariners" W-League team is fully funded by FNSW who, for years now, doesn't give a shit about football on the Central Coast, and subsequently this team SHOULDN'T have been 'branded' with OUR club's colours and logo. This gives people the wrong impression that the CCMFC are linked to it, totalllllly far from it in fact.

When, and if the CCMFC take 100% control of a team that is based & competes in the W-League FROM the Central Coast then and only then will they have my full and undisputed support and most likely the support of many more like minded football fans on the coast.

What your asking the people on here to do is no different then asking them to support Central Coast Lightning, just because they have the name 'Central Coast'. A lot of people on here would be abhorrent to support Lightning because it's administered by an organization that they despise. So to is the W-League team known as the 'Mariners'

Nice little piece about Katie Daly (reserve GK) in today's Express. Although an unused sub, I believe last week she may have been the first truly Central Coast girl to appear on the teamsheet.

As it says she's a big Mariners fan so getting to wear the shirt is "pretty cool". I would be most surprised and disappointed if the whole squad doesn't play with pride in the shirt - that's enough to makes them Mariners for me.

Who's funding and running this budding league, where they are being made to play and the current standard are separate issues. Like 'W-League supporter', I hope they don't read the derision on here.

Watching the Canberra v Adelaide game on ABC right now. The pitch is in great shape. I'd be happy to have our men play there anytime...but in all honesty, the quality of the game is pretty terrible. I could see this sort of quality down at the local league.

The quality of refereeing is as bad as our though. There was a red card in the 9th minute when, at most, it should have been a yellow. the commentators couldn't work out why it was a red, and on the replay there was nothing it. There was also a yellow card given where it should have simply been a free kick.

EDIT: The red card was apparently because it was a studs up tackle....which is bollocks.

See they make crap female refs too!
I thought the game was alright given the strong wind and the youth of many of the players.
Crowd was good - see what you get if you actually make an effort to get them FNSW!!!
Canberra deserved to snatch one at the end.

I was surprised at the crowd to be honest. Much bigger then I would have expected..especially given the weather. 15 degrees+wind chill which would have been quiet strong judging from the wind.

Regardless of what some people think I'm enjoying watching the Mariners women's team thrash Adelaide 6-0 on ABC TV for pre match (Mariners v Roar) entertainment. Goals 5 and 6 were awesome.

you can't expect him to use their 'full' name can you  ::)

"The Second Sydney team, Owned by Sydney, Playing and Training out of Sydney but called Central Coast Mariners FC"  :p

See, just easier to call them Central Coast  ;)

Actually they are 'owned' by Football NSW in which Central Coast players, parents, etc. have a stake - bankrolling FNSW.  That is why they have NFI how to promote the team - no matter what 'brand' it has.

Thats why typed Sydney.

Football NSW = Sydney.......fcuk the rest of the State  :'(

Bring on the FFA Revolution, disband the federations, then & only then will we become the Footballing powerhouse of a nation we could be.

Dreaming of Football without the self interests/politics.

It's good to see that there are plans to have the side play out of Tuggerah. Will the ownership structure of the side change when this happens?

So it looks like the W-league mariners has been a total disaster, no crowds, no support, poor results, what happens now? Will the Mariners back them next year?
