ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Last sentence in the article says ....Meanwhile, Central Coast Mariners are investigating taking two home games away from Gosford, with Canberra Stadium likely to be one of the venues.

Maybe to where we have relationships

Thats a more appropriate response and, if its true, I certainly will hold the same view as Dibo most kindly dug out for me.

I wonder how much they sold us for?

I was on eBay for $12.75 for a while, Wellington Phoenix bought me but forgot about the exchange rate and had to cancel the bid

Why is Jeff Hall officially speaking on behalf of the Marinators when he is no longer club president?

Really poor form when the committee has not got together and been able to discuss their position on the matter.

mick - that was from the article i posted from a year ago. i was making the point that we've been here before.

Just so it is clear.
I never said i think the team is "moving" to west sydney for good. I dont think this is at all likely.

I think if we are going to play 2 games in canberra, members must not pay for these in season tickets, and should get free tickets to these games. What is the point of an extended season when you lose 2 of your home games. Why would the club want to lose home ground advantage though?

And with Canberra likely coming into the comp in the next few years, why would we be worried about playing there, we wont be grabbing any more of their juniours or anything.

I presume the FFA has dangled some cash in front of the club to test the water in canberra.

The club should not whore itself around, it is a disgrace to the coast, and especially the fans.

Bex & others.

I raised the spectre of the possible WS franchise matter in my earlier posts on this Thread, possibly the one who went off on that tangent. Pls read them carefully as I'm pretty sure I said a big 'IF' somewhere & also raised the thought that this matter would linger around til the club made it clearer about what the hell is going on.

The season ticket issue is going to be made more complex for folks with these 2 'tbc' matches and quite frankly, the club should leave them right off the season ticket cost.

Maybe they can throw one of those charity days for those matches, if they end up being played out of Bluetongue?

Or, if they end up being played elsewhere, allow the season ticket holders a special day for online, phone and in person ticketing with Ticketek & then throw the stadium (where ever it is being played at) open for all to buy tix at.

I'm also agreeing with Kevrenor's comments about how hard would it be to have a press release available even if they are in Japan. It's not like they are on Mars, ffs, there's such things as this www. shit and the old fashioned fax, you know.

And I bet if Lyall & PT are in Japan they'll be getting updates on business from McKay, and possibly this forum's reaction to the 'tbc' matches, too.

They knew, from the previous year's whisper about moving home games, that it could stir up a  hornet's nest, and they also knew the Marinators Club's view from Jeff's spray last year.

FFC's observations about their lack lustre performance overall is food for thought & Marinermick surprised me with an equation to financial difficulties, in response.

Still all this is nothing more than us blowing off steam until the club really loosens up and puts out a definitive and specific press release advising what they are up to, or what situation they have found themselves in (ie: the pitch really is stuffed and we have to let it be completely overhauled).

Canberra IMO would only get the 13 or 14 spot.. WS & the Gong have to much going for them... We did promise Canberra some things ... so maybe this is what they get for their support and Connections in Canberra ... never forget the Centre of Excellence could do with a little extra sports funding...

Aside from letting Jedi go to early the clubs management have done little wrong ... our coaching staff are under the pump to get results ... we are exploring the reach of the partnership there is a lot going on.

BTW from a totally different stance assume by playing the games in Canberra we make an extra $ 250, 000  ... if you look at our finances that could be very important... Our club has many ambitious plans but never have I heard it said they would or where even thinking about leaving the coast.... In fact the investment in the training academy indicates they are on the coast forever...

Along with others I feel the club could communicate better what they plan to do even if it is a WIP just let us know what is the current state of play because wild speculative things are said then build upon ... most of which I am sure will come to nothing ... lets wait and see and ask the club to do a little more in the communication process..

I very much doubt we ever told canberra, be in assosiation with us and we will give you 2 home games next year.

Where is the loyalty to the members? Why should the members, who get the best ride, be forced to watch the team from interstate when we are playing at home?

It does not matter when canberra come in, when they do out ties to canberra grassroots will disolve.

If our finances are so dire that we need to whore 2 games out, then this would be a major issue.

I dont think it is too much to ask to get a straight answer from the club now. The club has seen the draw, probably decided on this over a month ago. How hard would it be to have a press release ready, and one staff member from the club on the coast to release it?

The answer is, not hard, bloody easy.

"Membership" is a glorified word for a season ticket tbh because that's all you get.

We don't get to vote on anything and they couldn't give a f**k what their "members" think.

What if there was a "members association" that represented the views of what are only season ticket holders?

Better still a "members association" with a seat on the board.

It'll never happen because we're not a proper club really (franchise).

I agree with the general tenner of what you say and I also doubt we promised two home games ... but we did promise something... However no doubt after reading this thread some communication will take place ... but TBH I see it coming nearer the weekend allowing time to get back / assess the fans feelings / develop a draft and respond.... I don't expect a on the run answer ... given the stuff up (for want of better words) in communication in explaining what is going on then I hope they don't compound it by making a statement on the run and we receive a factual with reasons response.

Sydney have a spot on their Forum where the Sydney FC CEO George Perry will answer questions.  Have we approached our CEO to do the same ?

How was it a failure at both ends?

Lots of questions very few responses from the club.

Well at our end - the hard questions didn't get asked. Always easier to mouth off on the forum for effect, than to actually ask a hard question.

Maybe "hard" questions could be PM'd to the mods for forwarding.

That stops it becoming a whinge fest and allows the club to consider their response

Just a thought?
