ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Turbulence (then calm sailing, then turbulence) thread.

At the risk of getting flamed again...

I know the club's communication strategy hasn't been the greatest. However, after listening to the show I have to wonder how it was possible for those people not to know about the fee.

I know that I received at least two emails advising of the fee (on 12 January and 3 February), and that the club had posted about it on Facebook and Twitter around the same times.

I don't know what the club is like with contacting people who don't have email as their preferred method (perhaps there's someone on here who knows), but I would think that between email and social media the message would have reached the vast majority of members.

I received several letters from the club (5 members) regarding this game.

Thanks for the link RBS.
Families turning away because they didn't have the money to get in....
This Brookvale mess has probably done a lot of damage.
Next home crowd might be telling.

I'll be driving up with family and hoping that lucky win can be the turning point for the season. Too many times has this club been written off only for us to prove the critics wrong. I have my very positive hat on tonight :)

Likewise I received email explaining the cost, cock up indeed Brookvale Oval but what do these fans expect. Free beer as well ? now that's a good idea :)
I can't see what all the fuss is about. I received 2 or 3 emails plus was told by other members to get my $10 tics. Even when i forgot i was still easily able to pick up $10 tickets at the marquee at the game. This game wasn't factored into the membership and it was a bonus surely when it was moved back to it's rightful location? It was clear when the game was on, all we as fans have to do is turn up. I'm a struggling family man with a mortgage so can understand the cost element but it's not the clubs fault. I like the idea of free beer though. :)

Not making any judgements here; this is a very general idea of how the Mariners Facebook page performs, and a comparison to the other NSW teams.

What we don't see here is "reach", or how many people see the posts, but this is an idea of "engagement".

I guess read into that however you want :D

So we're actually killing it on engagement?

If we are then Facebook engagement does not seem to = people through the gate. These stats might be why the club think there doing such a wonderful job when in reality they are not engaging with the right people.

More "likes, comments & shares" than both Sydney FC and Wanderers?

Does not compute. How can this be true? If Mariners generate so much online traffic why is this forum smaller than SFC's and WSW's?

Thing I dont get is how did they know there was a game on at CCS at all little own the cheap ticket saga.

Or did they drive past see a game on and assume that's part of membership?

I got a couple of emails and notice and discussion on here. Unfortunately sometimes the punters don't pull there weight but this what happens when you have balls ups like NS and Brookie.

Stay on the coast and there is no confusion.

Good, wide ranging interview, well worth reading. Quite a positive outlook imo.

Mentions meeting with fan groups. I hope some feedback gets posted on here about it.

One bother was moved games. Once again CCM are not being explicit. Two numbers are given, maximum of two and no more than 80%, which would be 4 or 5. I really want a straight answer to that one.

How do you get 4 or 5? In a season with 14 home games 80% would mean 11 at CCS and 3 elsewhere, and 2 in a 13-game season - that's no different to what was stated before the start of the season. You'd have to be looking at 17-18 home games per season before 4 or 5 would be played somewhere other than Gosford.

Ahh my bad, I went off the top of my head @27 rounds and didn't allow half to be played away.

Well spotted.

And yet it is still a shit idea, one that should be put in a weighted box and buried at sea as soon as possible.
