ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Radinho, im not singling you out but besides the teams poor form lately, thats another reason why our crowds have been down. Too many people on the coast and in businesses are just expecting to get free tickets to the game after the first three seasons of hundreds (maybe a thou or two) free tickets given away for each game.
Not many have stepped up and actually purchased tickets now that theyre not getting the free tickets they once depended on.
Kind of bugs me when people claim themselves as big supporters of the team and when they dont get their free ticket from their boss or company, they dont show.

Sean how many tix were given away for free in the past season? I was also of the opinion that the Mariners generally were not giving too many away, although I was aware they did do that on occasions. A person whining about the club's performance when they haven't actaully made some commitment themselves is a bit poor form.

May be they are awaiting the big name signings to be confirmed 1st...

If there is some positive news about some half decent signings, more people would be tempted to lay some money down for the whole season.

I don't think it's the fact the amount of money required is a bit high, but rather they commit for the season and then get let down with a substandard team from the start.

Lyall & Lawrie have already been quite public about the need to improve the squad, so people will wait until they hear of said signings.

I'd half suspect too, that the club has peeked at some of the comments on this forum and realised the fans want to know more details about those two 'tbc' games and who is in the squad before deciding what sort of ticket to get - if at all.

I may be why off mark with this.. I hope the club will provide a document that clearly delineates the relationship. How if at all this includes player transfers, player  recruitment policy, style of play ... or simply money to build a motel on free land, next to river with its own club,  just off the F3 next to an industrial estate. Beyond this how much management time is being spent in the partnership with the building of the academy, speaking of which an announcement of when they expect the plans to be approved and construction to begin.

There is no river of any significance next to the new development, however, you did neglect to mention the railway station.

As for the start of construction, I don't believe they've engaged the designers as yet, so I imagine they won't be getting Council approval in June as planned. Construction was planned to start in early January 2010 and that might happen, but only if they really pull their finger out now to get the designs moving.

This is another sticking point for a few people too. Many have heard of the development plans, and lord knows we've all heard it said many times since then, that the economic situation has changed radically.

Word of a delay like you have just mentioned may end up becoming a chinese whisper campaign if the club doesn't keep everyone informed about what is happening here... a little web page within their website just mentioning what stage they are at, will give people a lot more confidence that the club hasn't floundered into something it cannot manage. We don't need a lot of detail, but a calming update on the situation would be reassuring for those about to plunge some money down for the whole season.

In fact, if there's a delay due to changed credit situation and the property development scene, the club owning up to a delay because of that would be quite responsible and give those who may have some concerns about the club's liquidity a decent reassurance boost.

As Blackadder said if you are a supporter you support the team through good and bad.

If you are waiting to see how the team goes before you buy your membership you are just a bandwaggoner and deserve zero respect.

Ken oath - well said that man - I will renew my season ticket (unless they ask me to pay for the 2 moved games) and will be there to support MY team regardless.

I understand your arguments gentlemen, and that is more my point too out of the two polarities of support, however, you'd hope that the club would attract more than a hard core set to their 'memberships'. The Mariners, themselves, have gone out of their way from day 1 to attract the family group and those not so into Football to the game.

From the success of the previous Grand Final appearance, quite a few probably grabbed a membership last season, and well, in two minds now about what level of commitment to make.

An announcement or two that would underpin the club's liquidity, managing ability and squad line up for the upcoming season would do wonders to those sitting back wondering about GA or Gold this season, or maybe even only to a few games at all.

Call 'em bandwagoners if you like, but the club has gone out of their way from Day 1 to entice a broader fan base beyond that of the hard core Football tragic, and the club should be communicating to these people that all is well and we will have a great season -  or at least communicating to them that things are still happening.

Sending these people a 'membership' renewal without clearing up a number of issues since last season, would seem to some like a cold canvass for funds.
Issues such as squad replacements to those announced publicly that were leaving, updates on NYL intake, an update on the Academy complex development, what the remaining club players have been doing since the ACL exit etc. would go along way reassuring people that the ship is still on track.

If that means being a little late with the renewal forms as they have to wait for transfer deals to be done in the appropriate June window, then I'd be happy to wait.

:goodpost:

Must admit after watching the ACL and the way they wasted the opportunity I did have doubts about renewing my membership. After calming down I remembered why I've been there since day one:
- Love of football
- Support of our local team in a National comp
- Sticking it up the NRL

For these reasons I have to renew and witness first hand the rebuilding of our team .

Can confirm that there has been a meeting.

My son-in-law & I have decided to take another "season ticket" or "membership", call it what you will. Our only proviso is that we can pay in installments like last season. If we can't do that we may have to reconsider. Our decision will be based purely on finance!
Like everyone else, I hope our team will perform well this season, but even if they don't, as long as I see the players having a red-hot go I'll be content.

I'd be happy to see them have a luke warm go!

I think McKinna knows the honeymoon is over so hopefully he can actually motivate the boys to look mildly interested.

I have a feeling that once we sign one or two foreign players...who are used to playing and training at a more intense level, that things will pick up and the Koala's in the squad won't be able to hide anymore.

I'm buying my season ticket again for one reason only:

The Bogan scum north of us hate our guts and want us to fail. We can't let that happen now can we?  ;D

Mariners til I die. Why would anyone even think about not getting membership?

Exactly adz. To be fair, I've been as critical as the next person with the way things have gone in the past twelve months. I hate it but it doesn't alter my passion for our club one bit. Now is not the time to desert CCMFC. They need our support more than ever. We have to show we care and that we're there through the good times and bad. Anybody who thinks we're going to win the Premiership or GF is every season is being unrealistic. It won't happen and no-one should not buy memberships based on one ordinary season.

If you are a casual observer of this forum or a casual attendee of BT, please re-new or take out a membership. Don't buy a Chinese TV with Kevin Dudd's handout. The best thing you can do is to support a local business and the pride of the Central Coast.

To be honest, it's time we changed the general mood on the forum from doom and gloom to positivity. We owe our owners the chance to turn things around. Up until now, I think generally we agree, that we have excellent management.

As for me, it wouldn't matter if we lose every game for the next five years. I'll sign up season after season and my passion will not change one bit.

I think "memberships" are overated tbh.

Does it really matter if people buy one or simply turned up on a game by game basis.

The only reason I buy a "membership" is because they have no cash gate.I reckon if people could decide at the last minute to go and just rock up and pay at the turnstile to get in we'd increase our crowds.

Memberships are important because they give the club cash flow and many expenses are laid out early in the season.

No cash flow = no club.

Fair enough.

But if I attended every game without a membership they'd make more money out of me.
