ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Echoing "We maybe shit, but it's my shit".

I reckon the Mariners, and all clubs, will suffer a serious dip in membership, especially now the GFC is really starting to hit with unemployment rising. I think on current track we'd be looking at a core of 5 to 6K and an average of 7 - 10k.

I think also it's better to have seats filled, than not at all.

I'd propose that the worst 7000 seats in BTS be sold at $5 a match - transferrable - but no pensioner, student or child discount. I'd also bring back blue general admission for the not so shabby seats at normal GA prices, and retain gold and plat in existing forms. I'd also make light of the $5 tickets in the Advocate every week (Now that The Sun Weekly has set) with a full page ad in sport, reminding everyone of how bloody cheap it is.

But if it doesn't work after a season of crowds 12K+ early on leading to near sellouts by december then arsehole it.

I'm definitely going to try and get the season ticket, because it then mans I don't have to stand in line for a ticket on the day, and it also means the tickets are paid for so no more forking out, as i don't buy any food or drinks at the games. Going to look at getting a ticket in a different area though...Western grandstand. Sick of no roof and sun in the eyes. I like to watch my team play shit in some comfort at least.

I'll be getting my membership again, as will the better half.

We're shit, but it's my football club. I'm here no matter what.
+1
+2 Actually seriously considering a Gold season ticket to actually get a decent view and a private bar.
Prawn sandwiches eh?

Thought you preferred being with the "plebs".  :p

Anyway most of the crowd will have a private bar next season lol!

+1 provided they don't start treating us like shit. As a so-called "member" who is fronting up a significant amount of hard earned cash (5 gold memberships last year) prior to the start of what could be a really shit season for crowds, I expect to be treated with some sort of consideration and fairness.

If a) we're not getting post match functions and b) we're getting the same number of home games as last season and c) crowd numbers are down on the previous year and d) we're playing really shit - then a price hike is not appropriate. In fact, a price reduction shouldn't be out of the question considering the state of the economy.

I think the Marinators are moving from 16 anyways.

Yeh, I heard we're just going to stay in the Kendall bar; its got a roof to improve the sound, the bar is close and we'll be louder than the away supporters. :D

Except when the cove comes to visit pre match.

I don't see the need for so many categorys of season ticket anyway.

I think the top tiers should be gold and all of the lower tier and behind the goal should be general admission.

Unless a full house or close to it is expected.....and let's face it how likely is that atm.......there is no need for everyone to have a reserve seat.

Even better but it won't happen would be to provide a cash gate for general admission. You are far more likely to get a decent walk up crowd if you don't have to line up for a ticket then line up again to get in.

Its exactly this sort of mentality which is killing the Mariners.... Yeah they are playing shit, and aren't that entertaining, but not turning up to support them isn't going to help.

Whilst I am in the "I was there when we were shit" camp and will be renewing regardless, I do understand the frustrations of people who arent.

Perhaps some open and honest communications from the club would help

I agree, i will keep going every week while we are shit, but i am only likely to encourage newcomers to join me if it's not going to be an embarrassment. If i try to introduce friends to the football-supporting scene and they don't enjoy it, i don't expect them to want to come back.

I was asked to come along once, and decided then and there i would be back ever week. I can't be bothered forcing newbies to come along with me if they've been before and didn't like what they saw.

I think it's been estimated that the "core" support is between 6-8 thousand, and that's what i expect to see at the start of next season unless there's something to entice the part-timers and bandwaggoners (i.e. results and some sort of a drawcard)

$10 says you'll be back when our form picks back up.

Can we please stop referring to it as a 'membership'....it is nothing but a season ticket
+1. SEASON TICKET. But like Floss am not going out of my way to try and encourage work colleagues & friends along to have a look - potential for too much embarrassment.

If you look @ the EPL a Season ticket is for people who go every home league game and stump a lump sum or commit to a loan with interest! (BTW - that is what sizeable is - not the CCM season pass which equates to little more than a good night out), they also get 1st rights to home cup games, away games, and semi-final /final tickets. Memberships are for the people who get to a few games every season (or two), live in Worthing and want a "Don't follow me, follow the Red Devils" sticker for their car.

FFC did (and may still do) away season tickets that entitled you to 10quid travel to away games by coaches laid on by MAF.

In other places, the length of time you have been a season ticket holder is a badge of pride (I've been coming here man and boy for 50 years etc).

A membership confers rights - its a bullshit title to try and copy the tardballers and NRL.
