ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

FFC did (and may still do) away season tickets that entitled you to 10quid travel to away games by coaches laid on by MAF.

In other places, the length of time you have been a season ticket holder is a badge of pride (I've been coming here man and boy for 50 years etc).

A membership confers rights - its a bullshit title to try and copy the tardballers and NRL.

TBF - the AFL clubs' members get a vote, and they also recognise the length of time people have held memberships for. Hawthorn for example give a scarf each year that has the number of years of membership on it.

There's nothing wrong with the name 'membership' as long as it actually conveys membership of something rather than merely being a season ticket. I don't especially care what the deal is with season tickets and memberships in other parts of the world, I'd like to see us have memberships that mean something like they do with AFL clubs and many European football clubs. In the US the Green Bay Packers are a really interesting club with a model that could be looked at.

True, there's not really anything on offer here except season tickets.

Probably a bit late to lobby them for anything but what would you like to see offered with membership?

I'd at least like to not get screwed over for finals tickets. Also not get a bag of tacky crap - maybe a members only scarf? Also other membership packages allow you to buy a member's only shirt, or just get one depending on the level of membership you get.

Another thing they could look at is a courtesy bus (or buses) that go around the coast picking people up for the home games. Since the coast is spread out so much, public transport sucks, parking sucks, this could help get people to the game?

As for post match functions, couldn't really care about them, the players just want to GTFO of there anyway... and can you imagine the mood after the game on our current streak? Pass!

I'll admit, i get more out of my Canberra Raiders membership then i do out of my mariners one.

as for getting one this year, it will depend on prices, i might drop down to a GA one if the bay is too expensive

Interesting the nix make it cheaper for an existing meber than a new member.

That at least is some advantage to being a member.

A whole $20 on an adult or family ticket.  Sheff Utd were offering a free child season ticket with each adult one this season if you purchased before a certain date, now an offer like that would certainly be enticing.

im not getting season ticket. the way they r playing we shuld get paid 2 watch it. Central coast divison 1 is more entertaining ;)

Its exactly this sort of mentality which is killing the Mariners.... Yeah they are playing shit, and aren't that entertaining, but not turning up to support them isn't going to help.

He didn't say he wouldn't support them.

Hopefully everyone is still going to stay solid.  I didn't renew our season tickets because I thought CCM had shafted Gumps...they did but later resigned him but i'd made up my mind and allocated the dosh elsewhere and they we had another baby on the run.
We still went to most games but i'm not looking at a season ticket unless its a great offer this season.
On the positive side i'm trying to get my team mates and families to go on mass to each game on a group basis.

The point isnt that it is best practice. Just that it is something

You didn't renew season ticket because one player was apparently not being signed? Are you serious mate?  :headbutt:

Players come and go - just ask Kwassi!(or the other way around as in Adam's case, lol)

You are a classic example of being fairweather. 1 player does not make a team, and you really have to get over your Gumps obsession - sooner rather than later he is not going to be playing anymore (he's way over 30 as it is) and then what are you going to do? Slash your wrists in mourning?

C'mon Wombat get real.  ::)

Sure, if he wants to be super hardcore.

But seriously, 90% of fans will not be super hardcore. The club has to cater to all fans, or it risks losing them. The contempt they showed a crowd hero was disgusting. It was not a happy parting and was very unprofessionally done for the player, and the fans.

I love Gumps as much as the next CCM fan but if the club made a call in the interests of the team performing better, thats ok with me.

Its the shirt that matters, not the people in it.

A free child season ticket for the Blades - surely social services must be informed on the grounds on mental cruelty? :pirashoot: :pirashoot: :pirashoot: :pirashoot: :pirashoot: :pirashoot: :pirashoot: :pirashoot:

x1 million.

I don't care that much if a player is a crowd hero, if the club does what it needs to do to get us performing and put a competitive side out on our park every second weekend then I'm happy.

Gumps was not merely "let go" in an amicable way. Otherwise agree entirely.

no, he was let go and then threatened the club with legal action. i don't think the club handled it at all well, but you can't say that gumps did anything other than hurl the rattle from the pram either.

for that, they both showed a need to grow up and FWIW, gumps has recently had a lot of time on the park including several starts, so clearly both parties have moved on with business.

I dont think we need to go over it, everyone has read it. It is good they have moved on, but reaked of scum style unprofessionalism for mine at the time.

I for one will be renewing my membership/season ticket. AND my wife, who has seen the light (reflected from Gumps shaved head) will also be signing up for this season too.

WHY?

Because, we are Coasties, and we are PROUD of it. In my view, the Mariners are the embodiment of that pride.
So were not doing well at the moment, SO WHAT?
Anyone who follows the Mariners knows that you cannot write us off. We will come back.
It may not happen in our next game, or even next season, but it WILL happen. And when it does, how good is going to be when we look back at what we are going through now and realise it was all worth it?.

So to all you haters who wont renew because of our current slump, I say good riddance, good luck waiting for that NRL team you are probably waiting for............ which may never to arrive.
