You play a team, desperate to get a win, renowned for playing hard and so from the first whistle set out to try to whine and milk everything you can in the first half... an acceptable, though even more unpalatable tactic imo... But then when they get fed up with your attempted manipulation and whinging they come out and truly get stuck into you in the second half and you are surprised and demand an inquiry??

And if you "are" a football man Gaz as you continually purport yourself to be every 4 seconds or so... yawn... you need to also accept that when you "tried" to play "hard" back, we also unfortunately for you started playing football...
We broke you on the park... then beat you on the ball... controlling the play... in build up and in scoring opportunities... only by the grace of our seasons consistently poor finishing did you escape without being soundly beaten on the scoreboard also.
You can disagree, And of course will, but if thats the case, you certainly don't know a lot about football Gaz.
You just know about the Football that is played inside Gaz's head. Sliiiiiiightly more limited in its understanding and application.... but it does make much more sense of your blogs when this fact is realised.

I'll certainly accept we were hard as nails second half - but I'll also state Gaz thats it is a well used tactic the world over, especially when coming up against a team that prides itself on playing flowing football and especially if, as in GCU's case, the team clearly lacks bottle.

Personally I'm hoping quite a few SFC and MV fans enjoyed seeing Culina & co knocked onto their whiny asses several times. I know I did.
But fact is - a football team doesn't play for the neutrals, It plays for its fans.
And for the bulk of them, no victory is ever too ugly, and no loss, could ever be that beautiful..
And I know Gaz - I'll save you your continued efforts in gloating - its over for us now this season - very likely. But I'm ok with that, in fact I'm used to that as a long term football supporter, good years and bad years. And right now we simply need to start rebuilding a better squad and trying to play some better football. And when we do... I won't be saying how we are the destroyers of everyones seasons... and saying other teams should be booted from the league because they're football is not currently as beautiful as ours is... (Just so juvenile)
I'll enjoy it, but humbly so... Because I've been around long enough to know that all things change and that this seasons heroes are next seasons pariahs.
Thankfully for us, we know the people at our club work very hard and so I'm sure we'll continue to move forward as best we can, especially with the CEO coming, whether its under Lawrie or whoever, and despite being slagged by keyboard hacks like yourself we'll still be there, in the mix somewhere....
Because we didn't just recently buy our team and club.
We built it. From the ground up. And will continue to do so. Hopefully long after you have gone.
Don't get me wrong I actually don't want GCU to fold, though you do push me, but the success of the Ieague is far more important and any club going under would be blood in the water.
Also I don't actually even blame Clive like some for using what he has at his disposal to try to be successful - such as finding ways to add perks and services in kind to bolster his buying power and work around the limitations of our leagues salary cap - its what I think most any clubs would do if they could...
But obviously it has created an issue, a Clive-esque like arrogance and sense of entitlement that rankles many... because instead of having to battle to build a quality squad and thereby learning to make your way with heart and grace like NQF. People like you instead were given a chance to puff up there instant inflatable football egos long before they'd even got any silverware... Hell it happened before you had even kicked a ball!!
Yes, you have won games, and played some excellent football. No surprise, you have bought some great players. But when you have added even one decent crowd to the leagues growth - which is the true BIG PICTURE of football development in this country - then I will deem that you will have begun to have a true modicum of Australian footballing success and hail that you have finally arrived as a club.
At the moment your just a team that unfortunately not many people actually seem to care that much about - who was lucky enough to have the dough to buy and poach well - or otherwise the stark reality is that your failure in your first year as a club would have been pretty much complete.
For mine Gaz, if you want to see a real football club... Look at Fulham FC.
And you should, because currently you have absolutely no appreciation for a club that does not have the same resources as those around it, you purely look at current performances and and act incredibly righteously in judging and taking issue with there being not what you want them to be on the park.... to the point where you oh so incredibly arrogantly even then feel justified in questioning their very existence.
On the draw Gaz, You simply need to HTFU.
But on Australian football and the Mariners club...
In truth, while being thrilled and delighted often... I have yes also many times over the last five years been embarrassed by some of the football we have played... You sir however with your lofty arrogant judgement and consistent denigration of other clubs, teams and coaches - especially ours - should not be embarrassed, you should be ashamed.
And finally, as to our fans hiding from your powerful comments... (vomits in mouth) Well.....how should I put it? How about....
