ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

f**king Tom Slater is a great signing!!! Big wraps on getting him. This is our reputation coming to the fore.

With the cattle we have, I can't help feeling we will move back to a diamond 4-4-2, or play a variety of 4-4-2 & 4-2-3-1 formations throughout the year. I think we have only seen a glimpse of Arnie so far & he will prove to be the best "keep" or signing we have made during the off season.

Probably a topic for another thread, but we need some songs for these guys. Marcel Seip is easy, to the tune of Dr Zaius from The Simpsons.

Suprisingly catchy.

And for the older supporter it would have to be:-
Seip-itty do dah
Seip- itty day
Winning games is the Mariner`s way
Our Dutch defender is here to stay
Seip-itty do dah
Seip-itty day

to the tune of

Ha ha...
Marcel Seip did put his car up for sale 5 days ago :p
And everyone ignored me :p

Good to hear he is quick...coz according to FIFA he is very slow (and short...I need either tall or fast defenders)
Mate, that was WAAAAAAY too obscure ;) but a nice piece of detective work (or are you a stalker? :) )

Detective hmmmm... :p
I do like the sound of that lol
But tbh I think stalker describes me better lol

Good old twitter
I go on once a month...but I was bored at the lack of signings, so I investigated.

And then the last 4 days we have signed 4 players? wow!!!

Officially the shortest (starting) CB in Mariners history...unless you count Porter? :p

I though Sainsbury is short (but he more than makes up for it...)

O'grady 1.93
Beauchamp 1.91
Patrick 1.90
Zac 1.89
Doig 1.88
Boogard 1.88
Wilko 1.87
Tony Vidmar 1.86
Trent 1.84

Marcel is 1.83

So he is short for a CB, especially by our standards

Hence it is a relief to hear that he in fact does have pace...

Look at our CB's...who would be considered pacey?
Trent > Zac /Wilko...and no-one else...right?

For the record...brad porter was 1.80 :p

. clarkie was starting CB for practically all of season one ... he is listed as 1.81m on wiki ... and that could be his 'aspirational' height - he is fast though

Oi this is Slater isn't it?
And looks like Simon has got 19 back. Didn't see any photos of Dukey so not sure if he is being promoted to 9 or 11 or what. I imagine Flores will get 10.

Dukey probably with the Aussie boys getting ready for the dim sim cup or what ever it is. Think he is in the 2nd training squad (think holger is quite keen on him) that is either on now or about to be on - Rose was not included in the 2nd training squad but think he was in the 1st squad so maybe didn't go so well

I cant help but feel worried for seip, comes with huge expectations to live up to Patrick's standards and the fans could easily turn on him if he proves to be sub par. Patrick was not just a run of the mill Dutch defender, he was a genuine talent that dominated for a very long time at a very high level. Many Dutch football fans believe he should have been in the national team. Seip may prove to be good but Patrick was exceptional.

I still feel burnt by his comments about bluetongue..
Bluetongue Stadium was a happy hunting ground for Vukovic during his Mariners days, and the 27-year-old urged his Glory teammates not to be overawed by the venue despite the club's horrendous record there.
"I wouldn't say it's a tough place," Vukovic said.
"The crowds that they get aren't huge and they're not a very vocal crowd. I played there and loved my time there, but there's a lot more daunting places to go to in the A-League.
"I know a lot of people there and I've still got a lot of friends in the team so it'll be a great opportunity and one that I'm looking forward to."

Bringing Danny back would be brilliant. To diferentiate between him and Danny McBreen, McBreen will be D-Mac, McGlinchey will be Wee-Mac, Sainsbury will be starting C-back, and then they will bring the trophies back. :pirashoot:
