Bradesevic isn't good enough. Needs more time.

Reddy was awful yesterday, just awful. Trottesque in fact.

We need a new CB, a keeper and as a bolter? Brady Smith at RB.

(That's a long long shot but you never know)

I'm a fan of Brady Smiths. Though I haven't watched him in the last year. Heart, speed, grit and determination.
Wise head may come with time. Or maybe it's come lately?

I don't know enough about Reddy enough to form an opinion apart from a couple of incidents that made the media. If we sign him i'm sure that Arnie and co have faith in him which will be good enough for me. Saying that i still feel Pasfield is ready and deserves a chance and i would prefer to good young keeper as a back up that we can develop.

. don't forget he also "left" the roar mid-season

. his spell at wellington may have been too short to get booted ... even for him (but perhaps it was just not worth the embarrassment for the kiwis)

Couple of interesting team line ups here - For a team that has been gutted we might end up better than LYR & still have depth & almost everyone believes the Golden boot won't be in the preferred starting 11.

Tassie - has Mc Glincy on the right as do most of you - Yet played down the left last year, Has Mc Breen (Golden Boot & GF Penalty Hero) as a sub

Midfielder - Goes a little unconventional & drops Hutch in his line up for Caceras, Has Mc Glinchy right & Simon on the left with Duke upfront & no Mc Breen

Dibo - Has Mc Glinchy on the right Fitzgerald on the left & no Simon & no Mc Breen

Everyone has the same back 4

Going by those teams (pages 77 to 80 of this thread)- Mc Breen will be the pinch hitter - First thoughts were are you kidding me the bloke won the Golden Boot (Should have had double the amount he scored - Possible just off penalties that he & everyone else missed). Then you look at his age & the fact he will be overseas so will miss preseason & first 4 matches it's probably not unreasonable. Then you put him as the first sub when we are chasing a game it makes a lot of sense plus can cover anywhere in the front 4. Plus the Duke probably needs to get a good go in the 11 now.

The signing of Flores now gives us plenty of potency upfront.

The back is another issue - The depth is probably a bigger shortfall here. Especially if Sainsbury departs as either the mandatory January departure or even before the season starts (hope not & the interest appears to have died down - Might just have hurt that hammy at the right time for CCM 2013/2014).
We also have a new first choice Keeper & a back four with minimum one but really two new players in it. So the back five are weeker than LYR but if the ball doesn't get to them we will be fine.

At the end of the day the squad is looking healthy & no where near as dire as first thought with all the losses after our successful HAL & Asian campaigns.

All this & no sign of an African yet

Just on the squad

My starting team .... obvious 11 players...

----------------Pasfield---------------------
Morton---Sainsbury----Anderson----Rose
--------Caceras------Monty----------------
Mcglinch------Flores-------------Simon----
---------------Duke------------------------

Subs ..... 10 players

Wide Mids ... Fitzy
Def Mid ... Hutch
Att Mid / Striker ....Mcbreen
Striker ... Kassie
Backs ...Roux...Griffiths ... Neill
Wide Mid / Striker ..Sterj

Meaning we still have two places to fill one is obviously a back up keeper...the other ???? maybe the Dutch Defender ... Reports a way back suggested we signed a 30 year old Dutch Defender from the Dutch Div 1 ... I hope so ... My Concern if any is the age of the backs... have a look at their photos ,,, HHHHMmmmhttp://www.footballaustralia.com.au/centralcoastmariners/players

On Caceras I am going on what others have said... he is more a number 6 than a number 10 and if that is the case he needs to force either Hutch or Monty from the starting side and if he is as good as many think this is the year he needs to step up...

On Matty S .. I have always tho he was a wide mid rather than a striker ... similar in many ways to Bernie

This is the starting line up i would go for too, with already some decent competition for places. I haven't seen enough of Caceres to be really sure but from what i hear he is the business. This must be his breakthrough season and we need someone who can keep hold of the ball, we will miss Dutchy's distribution. Matty is just too good to leave out as long as he is injury free and back to close to what he was when he left. Dukey is a starter for me, especially with Danny away for the first month or so. Hutch and Fitzy in particualr to push hard for places. Of course we could sign a player or two that will replace a couple of players above but for me this is the team i would like to see.

#14) Michael McGlinchey
#16) Trent Sainsbury

#24) Hayden Morton
#25) Michael Neill
#29) Nicholas Fitzgerald
#??) Matt Simon
#??) Marcos Flores
#??) Storm Roux
#??) Tom Slater

That's 20 players!

We're basically short a keeper, but at 21 players you're pretty well good to go for the season.

If anyone happened to wander past training today to see if there's another bloke with gloves on, then that might be the icing on the cake. If it's Reddy, it might be worth reminding the club of Our Strongly Held Views.

Otherwise, it's good to see that we're set to have the squad all settled in by the second week in July for a season start in October.
