Excellent news. If we can get him into the form he had at Adelaide then he will be a great fit for this club

Brilliant, BRILLIANT signing. One of our most exciting and promising to date.
Welcome Marcos. Thrilled to have your spirit, attitude, skill and crazy:santa:ass tweets on the Coast. :piralaugh:

Personally I don't think he needs to recover his form, I don't think it "dropped". You don't say a saw has stopped working when you find you can't hammer many nails in with it. Ange played him out of position, neglecting his strengths in a system that was simply unsuited. He was locked down as a false nine, while creative freedom was given to Rojas and Archie. It made them very dangerous on the counter, but clearly lacking when it came to playing the ball out and maintaining possession due to a weak spine. Which has been weak from the back since the loss of Muscat to be honest. GA won't make this mistake.

Besides some much needed X factor with the loss of Tommy and Bernie, I think those highlights also evidence another thing we can be really excited for this season. Sergio VD was a monster in the HAL with Flores behind him, but has struggled ever after without a true number 10 behind him. Every striker needs great service. I've been banging on that I think this will really be Dukes year. And with this combination, I think he may be enormous for us. Certainly hope so, as leading towards a WC, I really don't see a more promising young Australian striker anywhere else at the moment.

Marcos bloody flores. Friggin heck that is a damn good signing. So glad that it eventually ended up happening, our attack is gonna be tops with him supplying Danny, Matty and Duke. I hope he works well with Wee Mac too. Too bloody keen, best news of the off season after resigning Matty.

As usual FP you've said what i was about to but probably better than i would have

only thought to add is i'm drooling at the prospect of a) what we're going to see from mcglinchey with the space he'll get due to the extra defensive attention flores will recieve, and b) the combinations the 2 of them will unfurl

exciting times ahead indeed my friends

Completely agree. Wee Mac and Flores playing against each other and letting our forwards just worry about getting into position will be brilliant.

Just on the squad

My starting team .... obvious 11 players...

----------------Pasfield---------------------
Morton---Sainsbury----Anderson----Rose
--------Caceras------Monty----------------
Mcglinch------Flores-------------Simon----
---------------Duke------------------------

Subs ..... 10 players

Wide Mids ... Fitzy
Def Mid ... Hutch
Att Mid / Striker ....Mcbreen
Striker ... Kassie
Backs ...Roux...Griffiths ... Neill
Wide Mid / Striker ..Sterj

Meaning we still have two places to fill one is obviously a back up keeper...the other ???? maybe the Dutch Defender ... Reports a way back suggested we signed a 30 year old Dutch Defender from the Dutch Div 1 ... I hope so ... My Concern if any is the age of the backs... have a look at their photos ,,, HHHHMmmmhttp://www.footballaustralia.com.au/centralcoastmariners/players

On Caceras I am going on what others have said... he is more a number 6 than a number 10 and if that is the case he needs to force either Hutch or Monty from the starting side and if he is as good as many think this is the year he needs to step up...

On Matty S .. I have always tho he was a wide mid rather than a striker ... similar in many ways to Bernie

As much as people seem pretty set on Morton at right back, I certainly wouldn't mind if we picked up an experienced CB and push Trent out to RB or get Zac sitting on the bench sometimes. No slight on Zac, I think he is ace, but if either Trent or Zac go down injured it'll be a huge impact.

I would also like a bit more CB cover. It seems likely that we have picked up Storm Roux for RB as well. With the loss of Pedj, retention of Kwas and Sterj, bringing in of Flores and Simon I wonder if Arnie will have a another alternate formation of 4-3-3. Probably not for all games - but it gives us another formation that isn't as reliant on wingbacks bombing forward.

I can see us lining up as a

------------------------Pasfield-----Second Keeper
Roux/Morton------Sainsbury/New CB------Anderson/Griffiths-------Rose/Neill
--------------------------Montgomery/Hutchinson
-------------McGlinchey/Caceres--------Flores/Backup AM-----------------
Simon/Sterjovski------------Duke/McBreen--------------------Kwasnik/Fitzgerald

I think another DM is more likely; McBreen played AM a lot last year. Agree that Sains could play RB. The recruiting so far is looking good.
Not overly excited. . Ange does not let too many good one's go!!
Where are the grammar Nazis when you need them? :D
