ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

There are times when I really fkn hate the modern game....getting sick of people leaving halfway through a season.
I feel the same way. Having followed the other codes played in this country for many years, I just can't get my head around players under contract just up & pissing off whenever they get a better offer. I know the football situation is different, but I don't have to like it.

Tell that to the Sonny Bill Williams fans at the Bulldogs... If there are any left ;-)

And I don't even follow the other codes ;-)... Still don't like it either though...

Best wishes to Trent Sainsbury & Daniel McBreen.
They have both given their all for the Mariners & will always be remembered as part of our most successful era.
I`ve been a fan of Tesco since the Brisbane Grandfinal.
I always thought he had a quality about him that others didn`t have.
He was quiet & unassuming yet on the field he had a presence that commanded respect.
Even in the early days, when a lot of fans here put him down for his mistakes, I always thought he would make it.

McBreen on the other hand was the total opposite.
In the first few years here I thought he was hopeless & a waste of space.
Last year however,he really amazed me with a fantastic season & goals aplenty.(Even though he missed a million more)
I thought he over did it by not having an off-season, but last week he showed his worth with a superb but flukey goal.

To both players I wish you well & hope your future seasons are enjoyable & profitable.

Huh? (For the rememberers...) Wilko and Dutchy were CBs for 120 mins. Sains was an unused sub.

He grew massively in his partnership with Dutchy after Wilko left and more since he's been the "senior" CB.
We've had him a year longer than I expected. That year may have been a significant component of us getting the Championship in the bag.

I met his father on Grandfinal day & spent some time with him. I got to know Tesco`s family background & the sacrifices he had made to get to where he was (at that stage). All the elements that he told me fitted with my philosophy on coaching & player development. Hence my admiration for him in acheiving his goals & my subsequent support for his career.
