Kim Do-Heon from blue wings is another quality AM that might not have a contract for next K-league season, therefore available now. 31 years old

sorry if I'm highjacking the thread a little, I'm more interested in speculation of signings than concentrating on the carnage. promise ill stop now, i only know 2 korean AM's

What about Japanese. Hiroki Yamada. Ex Japanese NT player looking to go to Brazil. Played J1 last year and team has been relegated to J2.

Perfect!

Although Mossy has said that he was excited about a deal being done with a South East Asian player which basically indicates South Korea in football terms. Can't see him being excited about any Indonesian/ Vietnamese or Thai players...

Hi I'm a PEC Zwolle supporter. Sorry for the late transfer we were kind of f*cked as well by FC Twente. Happy to see that your management was quick enough to get a replacement.

I was just wondering if you could give some information about Trent Sainsbury. We don't really watch football in Australia here in the NL and of course we are curious about the kind of player we're getting. Thanks to our technical manager Gerard Nijkamp always surprises us with players from all over the world. If I'm correct his nickname is Tesco? If true, why is that? What are his strong points/weak points? I read something about him costing us like a mill. Is that a high price for Australian transfer standards? Any info would be nice!

He's going to a great club by the way. Our team always tries to play the game as it is meant to be played (ball possession - attacking - fair). We are supposed to have the best midfield of the eredivisie, but in my opinion our defensive line is better. After 20 games we had 27 goals against, better than Feyenoord which is kind of our Dutch national defense. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013–14_Eredivisie#League_table

Oh yeah our strikers aren't the best, that's why we're not higher in the league.

Welcome!
Tesco is a joke nickname coined here and not his real one - there's a store in England I think called Sainsburys and Tesco is another...

You've picked up a real gem here, I'll let others give you more detail but there is no doubt in Australia he'll be at the world cup with our national team if given enough game time with you guys

Thanks for coming on our little forum. Trent is an awesome defender. Some would say the best in the A-League at the moment. Other can say more about his strengths and weaknesses but he is both great at defending/ball winner and can also create great attacking possibilities with his great passing skills. He has only ever scored one goal in his time in the A-League so don't expect much in that way.

The info I heard about his transfer fee was it was around the $450K mark.

We are going to miss him greatly but he wish him all the best. It would be great if you could stop by here occasionally to tell us how he is going over there.

hmm I tried to add an awesome youtubeclip of us beating Feyenoord at the beginning of this season, but I can't see that anymore. Well it's on youtube you'll manage.

You'll be pleased to know he's coming from a similar team so should fit right in

Sainsbury - Excellent at one on one, wins most tackles, comfortable with the ball, accurate distribution.

Only con, Doesn't score many goals I guess :innocent:

Hahaha, stop by? Like almost every Dutch person, I've been. Awesome time!

450K. That's Ozzie dollars?

Hmm, as I mentioned earlier we have trouble scoring. No good header or corner kick danger perhaps? Of course as a defender his main task is to defend, so that sounds good

He's good with the ball at his feet, he's quick, his timing in tackles is great and his passing range and accuracy is good and getting better.

He was playing as the junior partner to Patrick Zwaanswijk (ex NAC Breda) until Patrick retired and learned a lot, since then he's been our first choice central defender.

We've/he has (hard to know) apparently turned down deals from Bolton Wanderers and Southampton and he has been on FC Basle's radar too and trained with them for a bit last European summer.

Ideally, he'll be paired with a slightly more senior central defender. He'll take a lead from the senior man, pick up the pace and then overtake him as he did with Zwaanswijk. I don't reckon you'll have him for too long - someone will come in for him, but I think PEC Zwolle is the right sort of club for him to go to with a chance to excel.

Looking on Transfermarkt I see you've got a few young CBs. Should be some good competition for him.

G'day pec . you've got the best defender in the A - league .
our former coach (graham Arnold ) played a lot of his football with roda and breda
we have something of this in our systems and culture . so Holland is a good place for him.
strengths , he reads a game well . weakness ,he doesn't believe how good he is.
I believe you'll be very happy with your purchase .
except when you lose him to international duty .

cheers .

Aha Patrick Zwaanswijk is a familiar name. A bit like our Joost Broerse (CB, 34 years old). Those are some good clubs you're enumerating. We are the kind of club that makes players better and then they leave for next to nothing to a bigger club in NL like recent transfers to FC Twente and in previous years to Ajax (Niklas Moisander and Derk Boerrigter who now plays at Celtic).

Graham Arnold another familiar name. Wasn't he also the assistant coach of your national team during the Guus Hiddink era?

Ah yes international duty that always sucks. We've got this young kiwi-kid called Ryan Thomas (awesome player btw) so that makes two that have to go oversees every once in a while.

Back to work no boys! Thanks for the info and talk to you later.

Onwards and upwards. Good luck Trent Sainsbury you have earned your chance at the big time.
Sad but not unexpected to see him go; I hope he has the same impact at Zwolle that Mat Ryan has at Brugges. It has been a pleasure watching him play and I look forward to following his career in Europe - and hopefully the Socceroos. The dream of him and Ryan at Brazil is something to get really excited about. Especially for a young man who has yet to play for the Socceroos...
The Eredivisie is a quality league, thank goodness he didn't go to China, and will be a great test of his potential; they play real football there.
Bosnar in? Sounds very opportunistic, the team lacked, even with Trent, an experienced leader at the back. In an interview a while back he was clearly knowledgeable about the A League and was a great admirer of Patrick; I look forward to those booming left foot cross field passes...and a free kick or two.
(Surely some nice little European club would like Marcel Seip? Pretty please)

I remember having a chat with him at Woy Woy Maccas when he had played maybe 1 or 2 games and had been very ordinary thus far.
What a lovely humble bloke.
He turned out to be a superb player for us, lets not be stupid and claim he is anywhere as good as Dutchy.....but he IS quality and should be a regular for Australia in the years to come.
Great bloke and great player and proof that Tesco is now better than Sainsburys?
