Mariners v Fowler FC

Marinerheart must have a lot of contacts to speak on behalf of so many people...

I think tonight was better than last week. A lot more enthusiasm, just no ideas. When the movement off the ball stopped and a long diagonal ball hoping to get over the defenders replaced it, we were pretty poor.

I thought Mrdja played well and Heff was definitely full of confidence. Simon is definitely out of form and keeps going to ground.

We really need Travis and McGlinchey to find form again.

I deadset almost fell asleep at this game.
Fury were terrible, they always have been, and in the end we made them look good.
If it were any other decent side, we would of copped another hiding.
First half: Could of sworn i was watching a training session in the with the amount of crosses and chances we had.
The second half...Fury deserved to have of won it, hands down.
Pretty sure now, and have made my mind up, im not going back.
Would rather spend my time doing something else contructive than watch my team not have the heart to produce a decent result anymore.
I know im not the only one either, everyone through-out the stadium was getting so bored and frustrated the last 30 minutes, it was embarressing to observe and feel.
Porter last week = MOM
Porter this week = DOM (douche of the match)
If you don't like them f off then don't come to the games don't come on the forum we don't need or want people like you. Yes we all like winning but a good winner is also a good loser. Jump off the bandwagon but please don.t hope back on when we start winning you are not a true fan and never will be with that attitude. SO IN A NUTSHELL F##K OFF

Weemacs form before he went to play for nz was brilliant, some of his play was different class, sydney away sticks out for me he was awesome especially the 2nd half. But does no one remember that he picked up an ankle injury before the all whites game and has since broke down with the same injury missing the melb vic game, maybe his ankle is still hampering him.I dont agree that hes been pants for the last 6weeks, i think he has been quieter but from the last 6 games he has started 4 and we lost them down to indivdual errors. The Gold Coast game heff killed us with his back pass that led to there goal. The Brisbane game after fighting back from 2 down travis fell asleep allowing his man a run on him to score. The Sydney game boogs is beaten for pace for the goal.weemac plays a defence spliting pass in the 2nd half to dmac which he misses a 1 on 1 with the keeper. The melb vic game which he wasnt involved in wilko scores an og and we missed lots of chances. The wellington game he did have 2 great chances which he should have done better with but another error bojic hands them the lead when we are on top by giving a daft pen away. The fury game, its hard trying to make an impact in 15-20mins of a scrapy affair i dont blame him for us not picking up the 3 points. From what ive seen of him so far this season the lads a class act and ive no doubt he will find his early season form again.

We missed having Travis tonight, Disco Nik was impressive and deserving of MOM imo. Both Simon and Bojic are struggling and should play a few games in the youth team.
tbh travis' form has been off for a while too, we dont really have anything at present to give us a kick start - good to see mrdja picking up his act though i was impressed with him tonight and on nye, shame that the team as a whole is playing utter shite

Still think Travis would have added that little spark we were lacking in the 2nd half. Thing with Travis is he can be off his game and still better than some options available to us.

Totally correct.

A poorly performing Travis or Weemac is far more dangerous than a firing Hutch, Bojic or Porter.

Ridiculous post.

Hutch or Bojic "firing" have both scored quality goals and had great games.

A poorly performing Weemac has offered NOTHING the last 6 weeks. No goals, no assists, nothing.

A poorly performing Travis kept passing the ball to the opposition last week when his first touch gave him that long with the ball.

I like both these players.
But its a stupid comment that just belittles two of our other players.
And all this resurrected "Lawries favourites" and the looked over victims bullshit, is just bloody tiresome at best.

Some people have very short memories mate. As evidence the re-election of the Labour Party for example.

TBH the first 30 minutes we looked organized and we kept our shape, and it was a joy to watch. The rest of the game was hard to watch as we struggled to maintain any cohesion in the midfield. Mrdja is getting better.

Interesting scenario last night with a minute to go.

McBreen gets a perfect through ball and finds himself in front of goal. Instead of making the b-line to the keeper he has done so all season, he slows right down and turns away from goal. He practically waited until Wilko tackled him.

Very interesting indeed.

Utter Rubbish...Again!

Crowd 6500 says everything really down 5000 from last week. Even some of the die hards of the 8k core group of supporters seem to want to spend their cash elsewhere. Something has to give.
Lawrie needs to go...winless in six now

I really cant see McBreen bringing anything to the team that Macca doesnt do...hopefully a smaller pay packet. It seems like an uninspired signing. On the positive he doesn't seem to have an injury history as long as Doigs or Hukes.

thank you..
someone give this man a medal, he speaks the facts, not the sugar coated version of mariners ay-league football at the moment.

Sheer joy at beating the scum :)
I love Lawrie, but we have to be realistic. As a coach he seems to have run out of puff. Understandable considering how long he has been at the helm. Kudos to him for the many highs the Mariners have enjoyed, and the honesty and integrity on which the club has been built. However, this is a business, and sentimentality is not an option when a club remains beaten or winless for six games in a row. The club is bleeding fans, which in itself bleeds the club of finances. It personally hurts me to say it, but Lawrie needs to be moved up or sideways, now. I'm particularly a fan of Kosi, but offer him a short term deal as coach (if he is available) for the rest of the season. He's a pretty scary guy and would get everyone's attention ... players and fans alike. For the longer term coaching solution, the board needs to look abroad, and look out of the square. A fresh change at the top, with a fresh coaching style would breathe new life into the game. The Mariners need attitude ... a good clean out of the dead wood at the end of the season will help. And one last thing... I am not a fan Disco, but he was MOM last night. Should have been playing this way all season. Just hope it's not a case of playing for his contract.

I didnt see the cross, got there late, but saw 88 minutes of football to observe him play like an under 18 C grade player, and shoot like one too.

So basically, your a bandwagoner who is _only_ there for the glory and doesnt want anything to do with the club during a bad period..

Yes i COULD have seen Al Green for free! but backed the team instead, hmmm the winner is
i think why that was written is the fact that these are "professionals" who cant really string 3 passes together are getting reasonable income to kick a ball all the while supporters are paying more than what its worth at the moment, no suprise at whats being said

Whats that got to do with it? This is football.

Pain is part and parcel of the game

that wasnt football the Nix roar game was football, that was FUSball, after the 30th minute we'd lost all drive, playing for a draw, and were just playing straight lines, no one running at all, though the fact we had 4-6 defenders starting, didnt give me the impression of anything else

by the time dmac came on, i was gunning for the fury, just because they were still making great plays out of nothing and were more deserving of the cudos, if they had williams and talay they would have schooled us

Mcbreen will do the job next year, as he does one more thing that mrdja, RUNS HIS NUTS OFF
im looking forward to him pairing with simon or dmac.

Porter? explain why you would sign a right winger who cant make more than two decent crosses in succession. time to cut the crap, bring in the cream of yoof now, and let them win lose or draw and get experience, showing what ever promise in front of the ever present pim couldnt be a bad thing for NT stocks in the future

weemac needs travis or someone witha bit of weight to through around, and more importantly players that will give him options. until next time!

First half pretty decent, should have scored more; Heff, under the watchful eye of his new Dutch one-man fan club, was dynamic on the left, Porter gave good width on the right and Mrdja absolutely dominated their defenders. One very well worked goal scored, dreadful defending for theirs. Second half simply awful. Hapless, hopeless, shapeless, gormless, useless and any other 'less' that I can think of. With Heff gone there was no width on the left (Lewis should have been on the bench if Heff was expected to tire), Porter moved infield too much and Mrdja didn't get the service. Vukovic decided that he was going to practice his long ball kicking, ad nauseum, and Simon and Mrdja were expected to somehow 'create' goals from that. The midfield was bypassed and disappeared. The defence couldn't put their foot on the ball and play the ball out. Doig looked uncertain early on til settled; Clark should never ever play LB again; I have never seen three substitutes make so little impact in a game. A very poor result not helped by Phoenix impressive win.

Eurosnobs in Lolerpool jerseys make me vomit, support an HAL club you wankers

Finally, if you have only 1 full back (Heff) but both he and Chicken can play as Wing Backs, wouldnt you try 352 just once?

Just to clarify that the a- league has existed for 5 seasons and i have supported liverpool since craig johnston played there back in the 80's. i'm aussie born and bred but have followed liverpool  for most of my life. i have been a member of the mariners since day 1 and follow with as much emotion as liverpool due to the fact they are my home team.
i wore my lolerpool jersey to show my recognition to one of the greats of LFC, end of story.

i wholly agree with you though 3-5-2 may give us new life and something different.

I don't think it really matters what you wear to a game. I don't know what others in Liverpool shirts did but I paid money for my ticket and supported my team... I don't think 50 people in a red shirt is going to affect the team's performance.
