Can he? I never saw that as being in his kit bag. Seems too one footed and is nothing social on the ball.,

Sorry - should have read Oar can play both.

Shabow, WeeMac, Oar, Pain and Kekeris, MacDonald can all play LW

Shabow, WeeMac and Oar can all play CAM.

Wee-Mac, Hoole, Millar, Kekeris can all play RW.

(In the Usain Bolt! thread)
I am reliably informed that Bolt will not ever be a contracted CCM player.
The player we are chasing is far more exciting.
My response: Usain Bolt!

I'd love to have Tommy Oar. If that's who FFC is referring to, definitely he'd be a significant football signing. Better still he wouldn't take a visa spot.
"More exciting" is in the eyes of the beholder and depends on the criteria. Obviously I'm not privy to other's reliable sources but I don't see what would make them mutually exclusive. There are almost no similarities between what they would each bring to the club. (Waiting for "something" and "nothing"...)

After watching the CCS game I really can't see Bolt anywhere but CS. Someone that can put in a good cross or push a good through ball would make Bolt look better as a CS.

When I read FFC's post I certainly wasn't thinking Tommy Oar, I wasn't even thinking Australian.

Oar is good and better than pain but still not the quality we need to get off the bottom but it’s nice to be in the mix for him

Speaking to MMM after the Jest game he indicated he was looking to sign another AM aimilar to Weemac, so not sure if Oar strictly fits that profile tbh?

There is no way that McGing and Hoole will be under threat whilst Millar and McDonald are there. Neither of them are up to A League standard although Millar at least is something to work with (he's closer to HAL than Bolt atm). Aspro will not play RB unless Mulvey works miracles with him - he is more likely to play CB over Cisse than RB over McGing.

So you are saying we still dont have a RB!? McGing and Miller are at the same level defensively....i.e lost but Millar shows alot more going forward.
Its unlikey MMM brought Cisse in as cover for Aspro?

Ok thanks PJ. Yes that makes more sense. If they're thinking of him as a 10. Not Pain.

Oar and two quality Visa signings and we'll have a no excuses and well balanced squad. :shoutclap:
Not sure that it's well balanced. We seem very heavy at the front and at the back we have players returning from injury. I like the Oar rumour. It seems likely we'll play with 3 at the back which is why we are thin there and heavy on midfielders. With Tom O'Neill Oar we have 3 game changing players but it relies on winning the ball early. It's a very different game plan to what we've seen before. The 2 visa signings if they happen will be very interesting.

I like the mix of youth, experience and steel.

Matty Simon, Cisse. Golec. Clisby. Melling. Millar, Rowles and Aspro - All have steel. McGing isn't soft either, but I'm still not convinced by him.
Matty Simon, Cisse, Golec, Tom, Weemac - All have age/experience.
Pain, Hoole, Oar, Clisby - Good level of experience and ability (Though I know some disagree)
Oneil, by all reports is a stand out young talent.
Gameiro, Shabow, Kekeris, McDonald, Murray – all seem hungry and there's clearly some talent in there too.
Nisbet I haven't seen enough of to fairly comment.

Agree it's the backline and keeper where we're the lightest on and I still would be happy to see a high quality RB brought in.

But even still, add a couple of quality visa signings to the above, and I do think it's very likely to be a well balanced squad.

Ok
Pikey has made a huge error with our Goalkeepers this year so it's extra important that we shore up our back 4.
LB is not an issue as Clisby solves a massive problem and Rowles is excellent cover. CB's need a rock to be build around, let's home it's Cisse or we are in trouble. Aspro and Golec are able deputies. RB is still a massive issue.

Ever since I spoke to Matty Simon one game at BT maybe in Arnold's last year when Wellington were ripping us apart. I said....don't you have a defensive coach? He just laughed at me, pointed to the pitch and said no. My response was, it shows!

Why oh why doesn't Pikey stop farting about and throwing cash at the Phelans and Harry's of this world and actually spend a little bit of money on a defensive coach like Patrick Z or someone of this quality. We desperately need it.
I'm very impressed with Mulvey thus far apart from the back 4.
Can we bring in a specialist please!!!!

Oar signing if true gives me more faith in MM.

Arnold brought in Perez to help train Musty.

Oar can train our new stars from the youth team, in Peter n Neb, Both are tiny.

Oar is tiny, and he can show how little people can survive.

I think it's a very clever.
