What Bay should we move to if we do

OK the options are reserve bay 23 or reserve bay 16.
I'll vote for 23.

If it ends up happening I'll get a season pass in 23 and be quite content with that.

IMO 23>16 but some others may still prefer 16.
Remember, out of bays 16, 23, 1&2, whichever of these aren't reserved Home Support will be GA so anyone's free to go there.

The pros and cons for both bays 1or2 and bay 23 have all been listed, but realistically I can see why the club would have wanted us in 23 over any of the other options. And by the looks of Fish's OP they were pretty much 99% decided on bay 23 regardless of this thread.

Wow...once again the Marinators show why we're shit in the stadium. To much bickering, to many chiefs, to many people saying 'well thats shit, we should do this', and really, we all know that at the end of the day the Marinators board will make up their own mind and expect the rest to follow.

I won't be buying a membership into the Marinators buy. Rediculously over priced for absolutely no benefit, so I suppose my opinion isn't worth anything. But if it did, I  wouldn't be moving to Bay 23...I'm not interested in looking directly into the sun for 45 mins during home games. I'm there to watch the game, not be blinded, and get sun burned.

'Oh wow let's get on tv'. THat's the sort of thing I would expect to hear from 12 year olds. I'm there for the football, to support a team that will probably not make the finals this year, with a lacklustre squad and a coach who shows no imagination or flair or at times intelligence.

Another example of the marinators failure...a personal attack with absolutely basis whatsoever, because I expressed my opinion.

where's the personal attack?
Im saying im happy you wont be there, thats nothing to do with you.

Also Im not a member of the Marinators so there is another Redline failure.

Wow. I mean, tbh, not so happy with bay 23...but wouldn't exactly say a Marinators failure...

Tis a bit harsh.

And their is the personal attack, right there

He expressed an opinion(no matter how scathing, its an opinion), so instead of perhaps making a reasoned point to either support his points or make your own in counter(see reasoned arguement), you just cast him off? KUTGW etc

Now, I can confirm that I know Redline a little bit, and for him to make a point like that means that he actually has some passion for whats going on(the teams failure to be competitive) and the apparently poorly organised support(I'm not making a personal judgement, just going from what I've been told/read on here) So pardon me for saying Sean Francis Lacy, but you sir, are an idiot

Ohh, and "I'm saying I'm happy you won't be there, thats got nothing to do with you."

Sure it hasn't got anything to do with him? Like really really sure?

Clearly we have different definitions of personal attack...and you may not be a paid up member of the Marinators, but hey...you post on the marinators forum...makes you one by association...IMO

The 'marinators failure' is the continuing 'we need to get our act together and move forward' for the last 3 seasons, multiple different people trying to lead the ship, asking for suggestions, ignoring most and continuing on their own way.

I love this team, I want nothing more then for the team, and for the Marinators to be successful. But we've gone steadily downhill for the last 2 or 3 seasons...as a team, and as a supporters group, and as Laurie has done, we've done not much to rectify it....months of discussion lead us to try Bay 1 the other night, the feedback I heard there was all favourable...now all of a sudden its 'bay 16 or bay 23'. Wow...turnaround.

talk about contradicting oneself in the one sentence

which one is it redline - "too many chiefs" or "Marinators board will make up their own mind and expect the rest to follow"

cannot be both

Im happy he wont be there due to his comment above, assuming things before actually reading the thread and the posts discussing how Fish has had to organise this and this is the clubs wishes/choice.
but instead he decides to shortcut rational thinking and simple reading/research before he posts, and blasts the board and everyone else in the bay that the Marinators are shit and reject the wishes of people on this forum. The poll might be indicative of how many want to move to bay 1/2, but the choice is ultimatley decided by the club (and sounds like it was), had Redline of read this he would not come on here and post away under false assumptions.

I dont know the girl/guy, but im going to say that im happy they wont be there if thats the first impression they get and how they think when going into active support as our problem is negativity and approaching support from the positives.

Fair points but consider these facts :

- People will have different opinions (like yourself) in relation to where we should sit and for what reasons
- The supporters should be seen as wanting to work with the club? Yes or No?
- Marinators board as you put it don't make up their own mind, conversations are had with stadium management and the club
- Over priced? Will be same price as GA but reserved
- I have never heard the squadron moaning about looking into the sun yet their numbers have grown?
- Most people don't care about TV, but the Mariners do for what I believe are obvious reasons

If people choose not to be in bay 23 that's fine, it's a choice, but the stadium and the club do not want the main vocal support tucked away in bay 1/2.

What the supporters need are people willing to make a difference, currently there's not enough of them IMO

Can I just have this answered, having not been in the bay for a while due to living 350km away, but is this just change for the sake of change?

Feedback from what I have seen/heard has been people would like a roof, a better view of the game and student pricing in the bay area.

i dont think everyone on these forums is in the marinators so you cant just blame them if someone attacks you, and btw i get it heaps to...
tbh if there was a different mariners forum that heaps of people used i wouldnt have a problem not using this one at some of the treatment you get.

Work with the club ? More like the club says you will do as you're told !

And they do not want the main vocal support tucked away in bay 1/2 for exactly the same reasons that the FFA dicked everyone around with east/west side tickets at the GF in '08.

Go to bay 23 if you want but I don't think the club is working with you at all. You're being dictated to for their own selfish reasons imo.

Maybe I should clarify my thinking here a little...as imo, actually, it can be. Very different groups.

There are only 8? or 10? on the Marinators board? There are far more people in the Marinators group who I have observed both on here and in the bay, who act, and give the impression, they are in charge. Again, my opinion.

I understand that the Bay 23, and not 1/2 is the club, not the board, And I can kind of understand their thinking, but I personally think Bay 23 is a bad idea as it will cause more problems then it will solve, as has been discussed further up. And Deej, I absolutely agree that we should be seen as being willing to work with the club, and that the board are in discussion with the Club is a good thing.

My frustration isn't solely from this particular thread/issue. It's months of frustration at watching us AND the club go round in circles.

The change to Bay 1 was a change that had been thought out and discussed, and there were a number of good logical reasons for it. So the club don't want us there, we need to re-think things, but is Bay 23 where we have to go? Or is it change for the sake of change? I don't recall having read that we *have* to move from Bay 16....though I could easily have missed it in 5 pages of thread.

The price I was told for Marinators bay this season was much higher then GA...unless I was told wrongly.

If we get clear strong leadership, and a direction that will actually change things and improve us, then I'm for it. But we're not getting that. I've got nothing against any of the members of the board, I (think) I've met them all and they're fine, but in the bay, on the day, there's no clear leadership, and IMO thats the issue....as I said...too many chiefs.

and you're entitled to your opinion, but if you actually thought about it from a business perspective surely you understand their views?  There's no dictatorship, perhaps we should just say f**k the club is that your views?

personally I believe yes the sun could be a bitch at times but as I said, not once have the squadron cried about it, we only play a handful of day time games, and we're there to support the club!  How people choose to support the team is their choice!

With you there i think everyone is frustrated but no one is pre paired to voice it, i voiced my frustration at the game last week and i was forced to stop by security.
But i have been in contact with lyall gorman who has told me that there will be alot happening inc. changes with the club in the near future. which is a good thing
