Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

What Bay should we move to if we do

I dont give a shit where we stand. As long as we lift our act in providing support for the team.

For the effort that a few of us have put into banners and tifo, there would be no point anymore if were to locate ourselves in Bay 1. Tifo would be useless. This matters to me as I enjoy putting time and effort into making a banner or two and will be looking to do so this uni break.

I feel that if we were to go to Bay 1, we would also cop more scrutiny from members and security whether its the content of our chants, or "underage" teens drinking alcohol. Bay 23 we would be left alone similar to the treatment we get in B16, due to the fact its close to General Admission where members who pay to sit in the same spot every week WONT be.

I also lean towards Bay 23 because of the corner bays and the standing areas at the tops of the bays which would be good for capos and SSC-esque type of support as the seats curve around and angle towards the centre point down the bottom of the bay. Thats if we spread out of bay 23.

TBH, wherever we stand, we're going to be scrutinized, and not left alone. How can a TIFO not be done in Bays 1-2? If anything, will get the families involved etc.

Move us wherever the f**k ya want, just give us the away crew opposite us.

I'll say it again, move to Bay 23, the type of crowd around us wont change - we're already surrounded by gen admission crowd..
move to Bay 1/2, we're deep in family members territory where people buy memberships to be on the sideline and away from the gen admission areas with everything it holds (the marinators, drinking, teens etc).

Have not turned into a "hool".

Remember when the away crew were a few bays away from us? It was awesome. Being opposite them would be awesome. Being up the other end, not being able to chant to them....just not mu cup of tea.

My apologies.

Tifo's are not done for TV - if that is your motivation for making them then you're doing it for the wrong reason.  They're done for the benefit of the players and for us to make a visual display inside the ground, are they not??

Bay 1/2 all the way.  Selling out to Bay 23 for the sake of "omg we will be on TV" is utterly, utterly sad.

Nah tifo isnt for tv, but for players and the rest of the crowd. We had the benefit of being between both wings of the stadium so tifo was useful that everybody would see it (not just tv), also players ran towards it right before kickoff.
have it in bay 1/2 we cut half the crowd off from it, who do enjoy watching it. we will be in a far corner with only half the crowd seeing us. put us in the other corner (b23) we still have the bonus of being seen by most of the crowd.

Can we not just build a roof over bay 16? Or a 4th side...
*sigh*

There are so many more pros than cons about bay 23 that everybody is overlooking here

bar behind the bay, if they go thru with it = awesome
be in the ground 2 minutes after leaving the club if you want to = awesome
roof = awesome
if its reserved seating, and if there are cheaper tickets for students, which we are working with the mariners to have available = awesome
can actually drink in it, as its not bay 2 and alcohol free = awesome
close to food and toilets = awesome

Am not attacking you personally, just my opinion on what you've said here...

bar behind the bay, if they go thru with it = Bar is not that far away from Bay 1-2 either.
be in the ground 2 minutes after leaving the club if you want to = Most of the fans leave quite early for the bay anyway, so I don't really see this as being an issue.
roof = Bays 1-2 also have a roof.
if its reserved seating, and if there are cheaper tickets for students, which we are working with the mariners to have available = TBH, I don't want reserved seating. I have mates who come to some games and not others. Why should they have to pay to have a designated seat that probably wont be anywhere near the rest of their mates...Would rather just keep it GA.
can actually drink in it, as its not bay 2 and alcohol free = As fish's post states, would consider moving the alcohol free bay.
close to food and toilets = This is also at Bay 1-2

That Bay 23 was suggested by the club demonstrates a disturbing lack of awareness about security.

Who fancies standing there as all the scum/sfc fans file past? Who wants to be there after a big win (dont laugh) over the scum and their fans are near us.

They are looking at alternate entry / exits for away supporters & tickets holders for that end of the stadium.

From memory Scum & SFC have been made to wait behind and/or herded through the emergency exit behind a wall of riot police the last few times. I don't think they go to that effort for the interstate visitors.

I believe the Mariners and the stadium can change this at anytime.

Club have considered this actually, the gates down the bottom of their bays would be opened and used as their entrance and exit.  What policing would be used to ensure they use these is securities job.

How does this really differ to previously though in terms of them walking past the CCLC or using the exit near the bowling club?

it doesn't, and it has been a shitfight in the street the last few times - that extra 2 minutes it takes to walk to the other side of the ground could help after the game, and let the scum/sfc fans pretty well clear out before we go round there

See, we could give away supporters Bays 1-2 and give us 32etc, where theaway currently sit. But then I spose, the Cove etc out number us everytime and would need more than a bay and a half...

mmm.
