ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

What part of "if we don't have the money, we can't choose to spend it" do you not get?

If I ask you for a million dollars, you can't give it to me whether you choose to or not (I'm guessing - I don't know you so you could be Bill gates for all I know). That's not you making a decision to not give me a million dollars, the decision is made for you by circumstance.

I could tell you off for not choosing to be richer, it's just as pointless and nonsensical.

We get the money from the FFA in the grant, which you seem to agree, but we choose to spend it elsewhere. Pretty simple really.

Your argument was that our squad is 25% cheaper than everyone else, so we should accept the results as they are.

My argument is that we have the option to spend it on the football, but don't.

If the owner bought a football club expecting to make a profit then he hasn't studied his history.

Only in-so-far as current club policy is to stay in business and try to turn around the enormous deficit from previous seasons.

Let's see if we stay in business if we keep losing.

Less and less members and fans means even less income and "metrics", and we aren't in a market where we can afford to lose them.

Storrie destroyed a football club by reckless overspending and is now trying to do it by underspending.

Well another Manager has become available if by some chance they part ways with Walmsley

Aurelio Vidmar, has been removed from Olyroos duties.

Well its an appointment that would certainly put to bed our "entertain'" mantra.

We'd be guranteed to bore.

Generally speaking Id rather watch paint dry than Aurelios teams.

And id also like to start winning again, and as stated his record gives no reason for confidence. Quite the opposite. Even though well resourced.

The thing is that they've tried the approach that sees us winning in return for huge losses and short-staffed back office. Just in case you've forgotten, that was the approach that got us into this needs in the first place - the whole 2mill in the red and back taxes due, the year MC took over and we finally won a Grand Final.
The new approach seems to be to try to get the admin side and income up to scratch and then hopefully improve performance from there.
You'll note that we haven't had the usual issue worth unpaid Players this year.
We've also had the largest membership since 07, over the last two years, in spite of how abysmal last season was.

TBH I would like to see TW stay for next year with the experienced spine he is after.

He generally has a good eye for talent and has borne the brunt of what was always going to be a transitional year. I think he took a tough job that was made tougher by some people within the squad not agreeing with the way the club was changing. There really was not a lot in the press buy the disgruntled players - but Tony Rallis as they manager (and GAs by the way) was relentless in his disrespectful treatment of the club throughout the media, much of which was picked up by others in the MSM even if the basis of the original comment was not exactly 'factual' .

Many people have a go at TW not caring - I believe that is very far from the truth. His non football background is in organisational change and I think once he saw the way things were going he realised that major surgery was needed. Did he kill the patient? No - we just went into a deep coma. However, with a more experienced spine, together with some of the rough diamonds that have been found this year I think we will be much better to watch next year.

There are more costs in running a football club than just player wages.

Or hadn't you realised that?

There is also more income as well, or hadn't you realised that?

I was simply responding to Dibo's post re the fact that we spend 25% less on our squad with some facts.

If simplifying things to your level makes you feel better than go for it.

NOOOOOOOOO.
Oh wombat I'm with you but more oooo's. He is deadset hopeless, the worst, clueless and has been living off the game without producing. There are 8 NPL coach's I can think of off my head that are better than him. Plus Hutch and walmsley are clearly superior. It would be a huge step backwards.

If TW can make the trains run on time why can't he pick a consistent starting 11 ???

Today was the starting back 5 from last week in spite of Posco back. Monty being out forced the change in midfield and that only leaves Roy as the only unforced change this week.

2 swallows doesn't make it a summer ;)

but my jibe was tongue in cheek more than anything - with his success with the trains off the pitch not 'crossing-over' :p to his team selections for this season to date. :D
