ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Agree with all above. Member since day 1 and will be taking my support elsewhere if they do this. How dare they even consider screwing their fans so badly

As usual, I'm adding to a thread fairly late on, so can't really add anything new.

I voted that I would still go to the game despite being pissed off, primarily because I believe the players still deserve to have the fans backing on match day. That said, I completely understand why the vast majority of coast-based Mariners fans would boycott it. Home games have to be kept on the coast - Olympic Park is a great venue for the right kind of event e.g. The Socceroos-Uruguay, L.A Galaxy, State Of Origin etc....but, for a regular season Mariners-Bling game, it would be three quarters empty, because of all the (quite rightly) pissed off fans who can't or won't travel.

I realise my views are a bit contradictory, but that's about the best I can manage......

I understand your reasons that you may go to the game but if anyone is considering doing likewise can you organise to wear a different colour i.e. black or casual in order to voice your protest to the club

No. Im a mariners fan, the mariners are still playing, so ill still wear my yellow. IF this happens, needless to say, there will be a banner and backs turned for the 1st 5 min of the game from this angry fan

On page 11 of the Telegraph today in the Central Coast EXTRA section

                                            Mariners fans fury.

Possible plans to schedule one of  two Central Coast Mariners home games against Sydney FC at Homebush next season smacks of arrogance and was an insult to fans who had helped build the Mariners fan base supporters said yesterday.

President of the Mariners supporters club - The Marinators- Jeff Hall told the daily Telegraph yesterday while he and other fans encouraged soccers push into western Sydney it shouldnt come at Mariners fans expense.

I can understand them (Football Federation of Australia) wanting to move to western Sydney to grow the game but how about respecting the fact that were trying to grow the game on the Central Coast as well? Mr Hall said.

If the plans do eventuate the match would be the first A-League fixture at the Homebush ANZ Stadium.

The Central Coast will never be compensated for missing the funds that could have been injected into the region by holding the Grand Final here. And the same will happen by moving the Mariners v Jets (Im sure she means Bling) match to Homebush - the local economy misses out again

Id say the supporters would think about boycotting this game if it was shifted to Homebush. Its just so wrong on so many levels

Mr Halls fury follows criticism by Bluetongue Stadiums major sponsor John Singleton, who labelled the plan as dopey and said it was an insult to the Central Coast Mariners fans.

The Daily Telegraph contacted the FFA yesterday but a spokesman said it did not wish to comment on the matter.

Mariners chairman Lyall Gorman denied the Mariners home game would be shifted.

Theres nothing to talk about Mr Gorman said when asked about the possibility of the match being moved.

There have been no discussions advanced at this stage in regards to that. If there were, the first to know about those discussions would be the fans and supporters.

So there is a denial (?) of some sorts but I am not totally convinced yet.

Let's see the denial on the Mariners website with a pic of Lyall etc etc etc.

That part gets me....does that mean they are looking at the idea they just arn't in advanced discussions yet?

they have denied lots of things before like that we were after Petrovski V3, Heffernan V3, Mr c**tface Aloisi V3 etc

Even in everyones anger, lets take Mr Gormans word for it at the moment. Im sure someone from the FFA threw this idea at him, he said he would need to know more details, and thats that, so therefor its NOT in advanced discussions.

If it happens, lets talk boycott, untill then, play it by ear

I'm with Bear and mustapha, I would be there, I would be wearing yellow and I would be supporting the team. Probably with a big f@$k off banner saying that we the fans are not happy. Wrong if it happens but if it does I still want the mariners to win the game.

I can understand those not traveling but due to my circumstances I will make half our games this year if they are at home or away and just because they have moved a game from Gosford to Sydney I'm not going to miss what is possibly 10% of my chance to see the mariners play.

IMO this will be too late and we need to let the club know right now we will not support this move, and hopefully it doesn't get any further than a rumour.

despite the fact the club tend to release mixed messages i agree with bear we should listen to Lyall at this stage and give the club the benefit of the doubt. I also I agree with Adz in that the club needs to know of our feelings earlier rather than later and thats he reason I created the poll on the forum in the hope that if the club is having these discussions, that they may use it for their own statistical purposes.

I hope when the Club and FFA read this thread they understand 'fans' and 'supporters' mean 'regular customers.'

Surely it's a little early to get so worked up over it??

I mean, think about it - IT CAME FROM THE TELEGRAPH!!!!!

If you want to let the club know that you don't want this to happen, fair enough - but let's not start thinking negatively of the club when we have no idea if there's any factual basis to the claim whatsoever (considering the course, I'd say odds are heavily against there being any factual basis).

I think that if they need to expand the stadium, and i think when we are looking at this stage next year, we will be thinking it essential. Then do it. Upgrade it. If the funds for expansion are given. Then on the one off chance i may be willing to head down for a game.

But if they are not going to expand the stadium, then this will become a yearly tradition, until we play both our home matches against sydney down there. Playing the scum in their expanded stadium for all our matches with them.

I think we are getting slightly ahead of ourselves with the "expand the stadium talk".....how about we consistently sell it out before we even think about expansion. Last season we only averaged 13k throughout the year, still 7000 seats to fill first

I think there should be another option to vote on in the poll.
How bout.
I will seriously consider not renewing my membership?

Agree, it the thin edge of the wedge and i'm afraid it will become more regular.

I was wondering whether our management had $$$ signs in their eyes and had a crazy idea that we could become the CC\NS Mariners. Not such a crazy theory with the western Sydney team most likely to be based further west than ANZ, (that is if they expect good regular attendance figures) like the rumour of Penrith having a team.

Not likely but three days ago I did'nt think that taking a home game ANYWHERE was likely.

I really don't like Gorman's wording and certainly sounds like it's by no means a dead duck and could be appeasment until membership numbers are finallised and then spring the BIG suprise.

Before I and my +1 become V4 members management is going to have to do far better than the half arsed BS denial that was printed today.
