ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The 'Let's just unbunch our frickin panties for a moment' thread

It really is time to bunch the panties - not only for the football but for our crowds.

The next two games are away to Melbourne and away to Fury - then 4 games out of 6 leading up to NYE  at home.

If in the next 2 weeks we don't get any points  - and we play uninspiring football - then I can see us just fading away into obscurity this year.

Conversely if we can turn it around and get a run on - home crowds and support may build over the next couple of months.

The time is now - this is the tipping point.

Having seen our last 2 games, anything less than a humiliating flogging in Melb is a decent outcome.

A point at the Tard dome and we should be celebrating like winning the league.

Fury will be a bastard of a game and a point there will also be a decent result.

What will hurt us this season is the drawn home games (Scum,Std Fury) - in this comp if you win your home games, you are going to make the post season cup.

6th will do me with the scum to run last - anything else is a bonus

we'll win in melbourne, partly because we're due for a win, partly because we've got a knack for upsets and partly because it will annoy the knockers.

I hope it's cold down there to assist our foreign boys I still think they are  not liking our weather
But Doig is starting to get a decent colour about him.

I thought the same thing but how do you explain the 3-0 win in QLD?

It wasn't hot when we won up here in Brisbane. It was actually the best afternoon for football I have been part of. Awesome weather, great time of day, 3-0 flogging...aaahh.

Yeah feels this way to me too.

Dearly hope your right.
Victory are very dangerous in attack, but have looked leaky at the back.
But they always play better when they get their tales up.
I think we will be up for this one. But bound t be tough.
Should be a good game, as long as we don't get creamed.

Given we were tipped by all and sundry for the spoon, I think every Mariners fan can be proud of the side's achievements so far. Especially after the debacle that was the back half of HAL 08/09 and the ACL tournament.

I think our crowds will pick up a bit over summer but the club NEEDS to market better. Relying on a mention every third or fourth day on Star 104.5, the LEAST popular of the three major commercial stations... that doesn't cut it.

Take a look at other sports and how they are getting shoved down your throat 24/7, compare this to the barely mentioned A-League. Maybe the sport is relying on the fact that 204.8 billion people watch the World Cup every 4 years so they think they don't need to advertise. Clearly that is not working.

By that you meant a humiliating flogging OF Melbourne, right?

So decent then!

when I saw the team sheet I thought we would get hammered.

When we went 1 up it was worse because now I had hope.

Spent 60 minutes counting down every second because until Matty got the 2nd, it was still anyones game.

Last 15 minutes, surreal

Made my feelings known re switch to Star FM at the start of the season......feel somewhat vindicated. Unfortunatly!

I think it's been far more successful than whatever was on 2GO but it's still all rubbish.

Speak to anybody not as involved for example as people on this forum or die hard fans and they don't even know when games are on. Seems obvious when our main medium is a radio station that by any yardstick attracts the smallest audience on the coast? :piano:
