No we have a good position..And i like the squad we have formed. it looks like we are gelling well, i am a big fan of some of the players in the Victory Team though ( Ward, Thompson, Lejier and Vagas) to name a few

Yep, Melbourne have a good squad and will be one of the teams to beat.Some of the other teams have good marquees, but are a bit reliant on them. So far, apart from Huke, we are injury free. We have only just discovered our best 11, and are improving. The squad has more depth than any of the others (IMO!). Best defensive record.Proven A-league coach. Finals experience.Apart from the team and supporters no one gives us a chance, nice to not have that pressure! Nothing is ever perfect, but happy where we are at this stage. Think back a few months, it was looking a shambles.

Agree totally. There will always be things the team can improve (currently, I'd say that scoring goals is our biggest hinderance, although last weekend was enlightening). Still miles ahead of where we were halfway through the year, when we couldn't attack OR defend. Our defence is currently best in the League, and we are running third.

Just be glad you aren't following the Fury (bottom of the ladder) or the Scum! Or even the Roar, who are the biggest underachievers on and off the field since the A League began. We, by comparison, have been the biggest overachievers.

How well we're 'travelling' doesn't really mean squat until we become capable of winning a gf.

From Lawries post match interview, it seems he has faith that quote "there's goals in them" referring to our strikers. Geez it'd be nice for him to get this one right.

If miracle of miracles Nik could finally deliver on his potential for the second half of the season... Then we could still give it a shake.

Re Mentally... I think perhaps at times we seem to suffer from some sort of small club syndrome against some teams... especially SFC.
If so time for that to end and get some serious self belief and mongrel or we are never going to win back to back, which means no, you can't win the lot.

I think personally, this is a HUGE game for us coming up...
Beat Tards again... and anything is possible... If not...
Then I don;t think we will be able to challenge for the plate...
Though anything can happen in finals and we could nick the Toilet seat which'd be beyond awesome.
