ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

if vaduka played in the A-League it would have to be for newcastle as they have darbys pies, who would become the major sponsor

It will be hard for any successor to McKinna to match two Grand Finals, a Premiership and qualification in the Asian Champions League; with the expansion of the League to 12 teams in a couple of years it will become even harder. Time will tell if GA is up to the task. The other side of the legacy, however, is an unmitigated embarrassing failure in the ACL campaign and just 7 wins in 38 starts in more than a year bringing with it falling gates and loss of revenue from spectators, merchandise sales and sponsors. I reckon even the oft maligned Arnie will improve on that.

The first game we lose playing the 'Australia-against-Iraq-at-the-Asian-Cup' sort of football will make for a great post match interview.....  ;)

An excellent, hard hitting, but fair analysis of Graham Arnold's coaching career with the national teams, and media dealings:

http://goal.com/en/news/1863/world-cup-2010/2010/02/11/1785645/aussie-analysis-can-socceroo-failure-graham-arnold-restore

I don't really wanna stick up for the guy but 2 parts of this article seem a bit bs to me.
"It is a stark contrast to the way in which Arnold allowed for his side to be unashamedly flaunted as pre-tournament favourites in the lead-up to the Cup"
Surely this has more to do with the media and nothing to do with Arnold "allowing his side to be flaunted"
"Arnolds lack of subtlety at press conferences was ill-advised, so was a bizarre decision to stage a friendly against Uruguay in Sydney"
Was this really Arnolds decision of the FFA wanting to cash in on the replay of the world cup qualifier?

Is this the sign of things to come in the media? SMH article

Foster on the apointment
I am optimistic for the Mariners and Arnold, who has had an apprenticeship of rare quality in Australian football. Not only that, but with the A-League's finest coach, Vitezslav Lavicka, plus John van 't Schip at Melbourne Heart and Arnold on the Central Coast, we have perhaps the strongest coaching line-up the league has seen since its inception.
