Round 7 Mariners vs Cavill Ave FC

Jazzie

Sheer joy at beating the scum :)
I think Disco Nik is seeing the writing on the wall .... either he performs, or he'll be bench warming for the rest of the season... and it showed last night.

Finally - waht's this about us having a gun player in our Youth team. That's never happened before  :pirashoot:

Panni Nikos

DM and playmaker - ran the 90 minutes, everything went through him. A sorta Wee Mac/Hutch combo with an awesome shot on him.

Will make HAL
Also relegated our club's leading goalscorer Kwassie to spectator staus when it was crunch time to take AND SCORE a game saving penalty in added time.

Not quite true, if you were watching the 2 of them Nikas walked passed Kwas to give him the ball but Kwas indicated it was all his

What is not quite true? Nikas took the penalty AND SCORED IN A PRESSURE SITUATION. Kwassie looked on and if the same situation arises again WHO WILL TAKE THE PENALTY.

Travis went off injured, had ice on his ankle hopefully nothing serious

right, not cool, but it makes reason as to WHY he was subbed for porter
there was no logic there! exotic import had porter on every point, especially speed.
hopefully not too serious ???

Score 3-0 to them
Happy to be so wrong lol  :)

I'm looking forward(or perhaps not) to seeing what sort of spin Foster puts on this afternoon.

I think as this season goes on weemac is going to become a marked man.
I reckon whoever were playing when hes away on All White duty might be breathing a sigh of relief.

The only thing i can comment negatively on last nights game is mrdja's lack of finishing (though decent positioning) and the low crowd number.
Wasnt at all surprised by crowd. Grand Finals were still being played at Pluim. Tiny GCU contribution to crowd (but all credit to those that made the effort respect). Pointy-end games from other codes on TV.

I so wanted Nik to open his account. Although I wouldnt have ever given him the chances the club has, we ARE still paying him and somewhere inside, the quality thats earned him a Socceroo jumper must still exist. He, Matty and D-Mac are such different strikers, the option of switching them could really unsettle opponent's defensive shape.

So increasing signs of quality forwards, quality inventive mids and a defence line that can park the bus. Havent felt this way for a while and dont it feel good!

Fingers crossed for consistency really, really hard

What a difference putting out a decent and balanced side makes.

Well done boys and well done Lawrie.  All 3 goals were classy.

Serious14s last home game....

We're either gonna get right-royally-spanked, or jam an early goal and park that bus like it's never been parked before.  Preferably the latter.  ;D

or completley and utterly destroy them......

such a dominating peformance by all.must rate this as up in my 3 best home games. (5.4 catch up, 3.0  V3 semi) Someone needs to keep Doig fit , a whole different mindset when he's there.
Pedj is a busy bee who annoys every one but Breeze gave him some lattitude. I not really a Hutcho fan but with the dour defensive shackles lifted he played like he was  a legend.
Deej is right the ball was offered to kwas for the penalty.the chatter between the youth was good and you could hear kwas directing certain plays that were happening. well done LM

JVS was deff at fault for the 2nd and a better/good keeper would be disappointed not to get a hand on the other two.

Brilliant. Thrilled.
The squad balance looked perfect.
What else to say... its all been said.

One thing someone talked of Dmac having a tap in?
That ball was travelling... Weemac cracked it... it was past Dmac and the JVS before they even truly saw it... Dmac has done all the right work to get himself to the perfect spot - weemac had done brilliantly also, just too ballistic with the cross. Would have taken an absolute freak to get a foot on that - so should not be classed as should having had a tap in.

Massive congrats to the team and Lawrie and all on this one.
