If we can keep this squad fit and on the park and play with consistency , could be our year.
Just beat GCU... Should have beaten sydney... Beat Perth...
thats the current top four...

We also saw off the Tards... A pit about the two horror shows with Brisbane and Adelaide... but hopefully we've learned some very valuable lessons about our squad at the right time of the season, and still managed to keep ourselves well and truly in the mix.

from watching the game on the box, i think it was maybe a good thing that i only heard the commentators mention wilko's name once? and doig only a couple of times, shows how calm they were and efficient.

wellington looked wasteful this weekend, against our first choice backline we should be comfortable with them next week

Some teams this season have just been incalculable. Brisbane and Newcastle fall into that category, good results one week and awful the next- do we put CCM there too?
definately...but we have been gooderer! :p

Great to see so many smiling faces leaving Bluetongue on Saturday night! Good atmosphere too.
We looked the part from the start. Most pleasing for me was the way we held possesion for so long, haven't seen that for a long while. Not one bad player on the park, hard to see that side been changed until it is forced to with injuries and yellows. Biggest plus for me was the way Pedj is growing in that DM role, he is starting to own that position. Big points for LM, you can see the huge influence the guys that have come in have had on the side. Still yet to see Crowell, but if he is as good as the others we are in fine shape.

major lol- 98% of people on here thought Bojic last year wouldnt be able to play in the centre of the park! (when were working out how to replace Jedi)
Well done Bojic

Nice article by MC ...

http://www.smh.com.au/news/sport/football/travis-puts-the-boot-into-critics-with-a-goal/2009/09/20/1253384903999.html

AFTER helping to dismantle league leaders Gold Coast United on Saturday night, clever English import Nicky Travis [shadow=red, left]hopes the Central Coast Mariners might have proved a point to their critics [/shadow]- but admits it's unlikely.

Yep, Pedj is looking good. To me he was MOM, though there were many contenders. Pedj was just about everywhere and the work he was doing allowed guys like Wee Mac and Trav to weave their magic. I think he's a very underrated player and his occassional lapses of concentration don't seem as critical in his DM pozzie. Hope he can keep it up.

Slightly different players IMHO

Travis is your typical english box to box midfielder but more AM than DM.

Wee Mac is your typical Scottish "inside forward" type player. Small, skillful, great vision and suits No10

Both have great engines too
