ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Round 6 Mariners V Heart

Personally; I'd rather have a bay (or, what we currently have 1/4 of a bay) signing quality songs. Not the whole crowd doing mariners 3 clap or 'lets go mariners, lets go'.
I'm also deeply against having any sort of words to songs being put on the big screen. If the whole crowd is going to join in, it has to be done organically, not artifically.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to have the whole crowd join in with Bay 16 (especially during I can't help falling in love with you), but flyers and words on the screen isnt the correct way to go about it. It's time for all the people in the stands to actually get involved because they WANT to, not because they're being told what to do by the fat ranga from star fm.

Yep to everything here. When Heart had a few fans and the words on the big screen in round 1 it just looked pretty wanky and I seriously doubt that's the way to get the whole ground involved in a chant. Flyers and things have not worked in the past - and really, the words to most chants aren't that hard, it's not that hard to pick up on them if you listen for a bit and then join in. Obviously if you are on the sidelines though you are not going to be able to make out the words but it's simple; if you want to join in, go in bay 16, otherwise go elsewhere. The ideal thing would be to have the whole ground involved in chants but that's pretty unrealistic. Sure, the whole ground will get going with "Mariners.. *clap* *clap* *clap*" but that doesn't mean they want to do anything more complex and go mental after every f**king goal.

Coastie Boys are doing a good job still, but I don't think they will ever be a massive "all-inclusive" group... and I think that's kinda the point. Personally I find their chants too quick, in tempo and duration, and a bit too complex... way too much energy for an old fart and I prefer the type of chants we had going back in season 2-ish that were along the lines of "this half yell mariners, this half yell yellow army, and we do that for the next 10 minutes". Simple, affective, and simple.

Having said that, I would not say to the Coastie Boys you should do this or you shouldn't do that. That would just be f**king stupid. If someone really wants to get things going their own way they should just get their own group of people together and make it happen. Coastie Boys have their way of doing things and it works for them, so why would anyone go in and try and change that? That's one reason for the collapse of Bay 16 in the first place - it was all working fine (well, compared to now anyway) with big numbers in the bay, mostly constant noise, but people had to whinge anyway. We're never going to be able to have one big group of every Mariners fan that does everything and pleases everyone, and I don't see the problem with that.

Near the end of last season we started putting things together a bit better; Coastie Boys at the front doing their thing, Marinators at the back and every now and then the two groups joining for chants. Now it's like we've gone back to square one and "Marinators" (group) is dead?? I just hope the Coastie Boys ignore the whingers telling them "do it this way, do it that way, this sucks, that sucks, etc, etc" and keep doing things the way they want to, and let everyone else sort their own shit out if they want something different.

What I want to see tonight is everyone in the bay jumping or crab dancing at least once. Start tonight. We need to be united.

Agree this most of that ... that is why the focus on the 'active' supporters bay (as proclaimed by FFA and CCMFC) will go nowhere ... yeah just get on and support the team in the way you and your mates want and where you want!

Forget about recreating The Cove, forget about pissing competitions with the squadron, forget about Italy .... we have a pretty solid support in stadium compared to the basket cases of the league ... lets build on that.

Sydney last week had 7K fans - take out The Cove and we probably have more committed fans than Sydney.

Once a marinator ... always a marinator .. I'll be in Bay 7 tonight supporting the team ... in the end that is all that counts. Reporting for duty to COF B7 ..

Just on chants for a bit ... one chant when down well... will have most in the stadium joining in....is the donkey chant when someone makes a mistake from the other side... the E-ORR ... E-ORRR ... E-ORRR ... normally takes a couple of matches to get people involved .. can lead to other chants being taken up.

I think the two seperate groups was f**king awesome and the joined chants were some of the best.

What we need is a mad tin shed over the bays at the back so that your chants echo. I reckon if they were more audible and people could hear whats going on then more people would make their way over.

Anyone cash happy enough that could sponser the Lawrie McKinna shed?

What we need is a purpose built stadium that the club owns, that way he club could actually put in stuff like this and engage the community with stuff like naming stands and the like. Having said that a supporters trust to help fund stuff like this idea may not be the worst idea in the world (set up by the club). I certainly wouldn't be opposed to putting money towards it, would never fund it entirely myself but with enough people it might just happen.

On the whole kids and what not in the Away area, security around them is woefully done by the majority of the grounds, Only Docklands has been any good at it from my experience. It is a shame even after 5 seasons that almost no club is getting it right since even for 20 or so away fans that make any given game they should be looked after.

. last week's booing of muscat whenever the ball came near him was rather entertaining. especially the last 20mins when there were plenty in the upper eastern getting in on it

. but beyond that, from halfway it is very difficult to hear let alone understand the 'bay' ... but like has been said we all show our support differently and i prefer to watch the game - intently

. anyway, we did well with the ordinary weather last week ... more of the same this week please. we don't have many more home games over the next couple of months ... so bring on the big win!

3-McBreen. So strong and eager
2-Bojic. Looked great coming forward and defending
1-Ryan. Great solid performance, did everything he needed to

Honorable mentions
McGlinchy, Bozza, Griffiths-probably the best Ive seen him play for us, and of course the back 2

Griffiths was immense tonight and i reckon he has played hutch out of a starting role for next week. Brilliant on the ball and was the start of most of the good stuff.

Griffiths - 3
Swan District - 2
Bozanic - 1
