Round 6 Mariners V Heart

I have no problem what so ever giving it to any player for a warranted send off like with Beauchamp, but I really can't understand the "booing" of players during normal game play(which was constant whenever Heff got the ball atleast)that have served the club well in the past and left on amicable terms. Beauchamp left us for a more lucrative offer overseas, as did Heff from memory around the same time. Heff came back, served us well again, then has moved on to Heart. He obviously seen his career moving in a forward direction with the new club. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't remember either of them slandering the club or fans on their departure?? Aloisi on the other hand...

Heffernan signed for Heart, for more $, before he had any plans to go to overseas. He went to Huddersfield after we released him early, when we were no chance of any success last season. He had a clause in his Heart contract, that allowed him to sign for an overseas club if the offer arose. As it turns out, Huddesfield shafted him, so he went back to Heart.

Without the help of the Central Coast he may not have got the opportunities he had. When you sign for another club, competeing in the same league you are no means above criticism.

I felt the booing of Heff was more light-hearted than venomous. It certainly didn't sound like what we used to give Sackwacker or like what we gave Muscat the week before.
I hope our ground announcer learns how to pronounce Beauchamp properly before the Heart return. I cringed every time he came out with "Bowcham".

Heff will always be my favourite player. He has been a great servant for the club. I was gutted when he left, but I truly believe he got sick of mckinnas tactics. He wasn't really in the game for us last year. His role was chopping and changing from left wing to left back. And he is best mates with matt Thompson so he wanted to play in the same team as him. Good luck I say to him. Will always remember that header he scored against scum to knock em out in version 1

Heff was good for the club but if truth be told was a fairly limited player.

He was great in season 1 and scored a remarkable 8 goals from LB but probably gave away the ball more cheaply than any other player (including Kwas).

I liked him but think Rose is a much better option.

As to the Heart game we were pretty good without excelling. I think its a great sign that we can play moderately and still dominate one of the more fancied sides.

Hard to pick mom as many were good in patches but no one shone or was good for full 90.

maybe...

well, it is certainly not "beach-amp" as everyone else pronounces it including fox

we asked meggsy's mum about the pronounciation at the adelaide v mariners season one final's game and it is definitely "bow-cham"

. interesting ... because in v1 it gave me the shits how everybody pronounced his name differently ... so we asked him

. he said it was Beach-Em ... but he said if you asked his grandmother it would be something more like your bow-cham, can't remember exactly (cos i only needed to remember his preference) but i am thinking bow-shum ... umm, french?

he told us he didn't care either way but his mum was quite adament

and you are right about the french thing... whatever you look at it i cannot see how you can get the "beach" pronounciation from "beauch"... the "u" in his name prevents any sort of "beach" sounding not matter how split

at the end of the day if he wants to be called beachamp then that is his choice

I know at least one other person whose name is spelt the same way and who is adamant that it is Bee-cham. I was told it is the British pronunciation- a bit like the way someone with surname St John is "Sin-jon". Anyway surely it is up to him how his surname is pronounced. My surname is incorrectly pronounced every day (damn my husband for having a weird name) and some of the variations especially from children give me quite a giggle.
