ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Does that mean they've sold *no* tickets for that bay?

1,200 pre sold I read, no idea if that includes complementary tickets?  That was a couple of days ago

I would say that would be a yes.

Quick search for gold tickets gave me half way line other side row G and platinum gave me row AAA ay 11. Those that are buying down there must be buying GA.

Or worst crowd ever

I don't think they are into pre-buying in Canberra.

Remember the last few Mariners games down there and there were massice queues in the sales line.

That story in the SMH will hopefully have the locals turning out in numbers to show they deserve a HAL licence.

wonder if we will see any cosmos shirts in the crowd  :ashamed:

Still can't see it being a big crowd if it isn't getting advertised down there.

Would they be reading the SMH though?

We should play Mrdja and Clark just for the nostalgia buffs.

I'm sure the Canberra Times will be on top of it, as will the local radio stations and Prime, Southern Cross and WIN TV. It is pretty big news.

These guys are football mad - go to a lot of socceroo games and have no desire/intent to see CCM

They must have seen us play on tele last weekend.

There is a culture in Canberra that believes the A-league is of  a sub standed quality, therefor not worth going out to watch. Very sad imo .

It begs the question: Why did they persist with an A-League franchise bid? Sounds like, if they do get a franchise, they are going to have a tough time getting people from Canberra to a) support their team and, b) go to matches.

Where's everyone drinking before the game? (The ones going to Canberra, that is...)

I think the best option is the lighthouse bar in Belconnen, thats where myself + other Uni students going to the game and supporting the Mariners will be drinking ( starting at 2 ish ) .

The lighthouse is a top pub! The Raiders Army use it before games and always put on a good feed and cheap beers for us. But it does help that they sponsor us too.

Not sure what part of Canberra circles you mix in, but I spend a lot of time there and everyone I speak to is very positive about the A-League and are jealous that Canberra is not a part of it. They had a taste of the NSL previously and want to be back in the top league.

Some friends had bought tickets before I even rang them to suggest going.

I don't expect it will be a huge crowd, but hope to see you there in the Mariners Bay!

If you listen to certain people you could say that about any area including the Central Coast.I know plenty of people who followed football overseas who won't watch the A-league because they think it's shite.Plenty of Aussies too who follow the EPL but won't follow their own league.

One of the pitfalls unfortunately of having so much top class football on the telly.....there's plenty of better stuff for these people to compare it to.

We all know it'll never get better unless we support it but some people just don't get it.
