ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

These guys are football mad - go to a lot of socceroo games and have no desire/intent to see CCM

They must have seen us play on tele last weekend.

There is a culture in Canberra that believes the A-league is of  a sub standed quality, therefor not worth going out to watch. Very sad imo .
If you listen to certain people you could say that about any area including the Central Coast.I know plenty of people who followed football overseas who won't watch the A-league because they think it's shite.Plenty of Aussies too who follow the EPL but won't follow their own league.

One of the pitfalls unfortunately of having so much top class football on the telly.....there's plenty of better stuff for these people to compare it to.

We all know it'll never get better unless we support it but some people just don't get it.

people like that shit me to tears.
It gets worse.

I know one Central Coast guy, Scottish but lived here for about 25 years,Celtic mad but hates CCM because of Lawrie, Fergie (was still with us last time I spoke to the guy) and the Northern Spirit/Rangers connection......wtf ?

You will never make people like that happy.

Yeah I know people like this too. Be nice if we were just talking about the same few guys ;D
But doubt it. What's even worse imo is I know some of their kids, who play locally, now say the A leagues crap... and I only watch EPL... blah blah...

I'm pretty bloody sure that everyone LOVES good football...
But if you want to hate something... well... much more worthwhile hating football snobs who don't see the big picture and will only deign to support those they decide are worthy.
::)

As you guys said... absolutely missing the point...

:headbutt:

How does he feel about supporting the Scottish national team with rangers players in the team?

for the record, the crowd was good, the game was a bit frustrating (but a win is a win is a win) and the small group of travelling Marinators represented themselves pretty well with the chants. It has to be said though that it was a little disappointing to hear the chants degenerate into abuse, with "f*ck" and *c*nt" being hurled around willy nilly towards the end (most of it towards a big fat drunken bastard)

Actually I don't know.

I suspect like a large section of old firm fans he probably doesn't give a toss about the national team and quite possibly supports Eire.......but as I said I don't know.

The blokes a nice guy but like most of you weegies his mind is warped when it comes to football. :p

And on the subject of Canberra........crowd of 5,000 odd my arse!

I'm curious to know why my original post was deleted

Because you deleted it. None of the mods did. I have brought it back from the dead for you.

Tried to buy hash cookies at Canberra Stadium but they just looked at me funny. Ripped off.

The quality of the game by the mariners was woeful at best; given it was colder than a freezer down there but have they forgotten how to shoot from more than 2 metres out????

LESS.... Don't know how they came up with that figure... the ground was practically empty except for about 3 bays....

The FFA said 'it'd be a bad look if the crowd figure was less than 5k', and lo and behold it was over that magic number.
