As entertaining a game as I've been to since our club was born. Loved every minute of it albeit it was frustrating at times. If the Perez no penalty isn't a penalty, it's open slather on all. Hats off to NQ, what a gutsy, gutsy team they have. They deserved points from that game in all honesty.

Arnie will be happy but I sense he will be scratching his head at some of the missed opportunities presented tonight.

Once more, Matty Ryan has grown in stature. Some key saves and beaten only by some bad fortune. We have found another gem. I would like to see him work on his clearing kicks, takes tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long.

what an amazing finish to a very entertaining game. great to see them continue to play it out from defense despite it costing the early goal

Great game to watch tho' we made it very hard for ourselves ....should have been a game we won easily but wouldn't have been as exciting i suppose. Matty Ryan made at least 2 or 3 great saves in the 2nd half so was good to see. Soft penalty i thought but the Perez penalty was clear as day so all fair. Let's hope we can keep this going, we are looking good apart from the finishing.

an extremly eventful night!
Ref- made some bizarre decisions half the time. And he was smiling all night...at least thats something- he enjoys his job...

Pitch invasion- UNBELIEVABLE! This made it the best football experience ever- something i'll talk about for years to come. A truly once in a lifetime event. Well done Mgt.!

Ryan- 7.0 - Made some crucial saves...couldnt help 1st goal, and 2 goal was a bit iffy- but more so the fault of our outfield players.

Bojic- 8.0- Immense! Simply immense. Just ran hard, tackled hard, did everything 100%...bad luck Porter

Patrick- 7.5- strong and tactically amazing. Good goal at the death as well...maybe a bit too much man love here- but I can't help it! One slight thing to say, he musn't always expect his teammates to be on the same wavelength. His pass to Rose for the opener was a good idea, however Rose wasnt good enough to take from that there!

Wilko- 6.5- Maybe

Rose- 6.5- Made the mistake for 1st goal IMHO...but did well attacking (hence preventing a lower score).

Griffiths- 5.5- didnt control game, nor shut down midfield enough. I will admit i might be a tad bit harsh, but afterall he has set high standards over the last month...and he is the first player in my memory that has displaced Hutchinson from the lineup!

McGlinchey- 7.0- Good touches, good linkup. Played pretty good

Bozanic- 6.5 - Did well

Perez- 8.0- Some ridiculously good through balls, nice touches...and for any naysayers...Fury did an excellent job on taking him out of the game

McBreen- 5.5- Played ok, could have done better in front of goal...to score for us that is!

Simon- 5.0- Lack of composure and direction. He must surely be on fringes of getting dropped. A very very very fortunate goal!

Hutch, porter and kwasi as bench. There's got to be a record for experience on the bench, a few hundred aleague starts between them
Quite frankly, thank f**k they are on the bench. Our team has moved on. I like the way we are trying to play. We are not there yet but Hutch, Porter and Kwas aren't going to get us there.

Before the match I said I hoped McBreen, unlike last season, would rattle their net not ours, but alas....
I wonder how many other players have a record like that?

What a game.
Not good for the pacemaker but was worth another trip to hospital. Fortunately not required. Unfortunately we must have set the record for most missed chances.
Bit worried about Perez. If that was not a penalty, (which in all eyes but the referee's it was), the FFA review committe should give him another two weeks for "simulation".
Do not like bagging referees but this blokes performance was not good. Maybe he deserves the two week suspension.
Back to the bright side. We are in second place. Breaks in draw do not suit us but the team and Arnie are showing us they have what it takes, despite a few worrying moments like tonight.
Praise also for Fury. They played their hearts out tonight and deserve every accolade for their performance.

Yeh, the Mariners showed tremendous heart out there today. It would have been really easy for their heads to go down after either of Fury's goals. But, credit to them, they stuck to the game plan and gave it everything. Needless to say, they'll need to improve if they're going to play like that against better teams. At times I thought they were just being too casual at the back which only backfired once. And of course our finishing ability is just awful. That ruthlessness that Arnie's talking about just doesn't seem to be happening. Dutchie found it at the appropriate time, but when are our strikers gonna find it FFS.

Reports have McBreen scoring an own goal for Fury's second goal...

Should have piled on a couple more ... when is a clear penalty not given...

Happy with the result ... takes me back to the best of Hal 1 & Hal 3 games we played...

Awesome game. Had to watch it on Fox though. Mike Cockerill mentioned a new striker will be announced in the next couple of weeks for the Mariners?

I just heard that on fox sport news. Harper spoke about how Cockerill suggested the Mariners had a striker coming in, in the next few weeks. Also during the game Cockerill suggested that it would be a striker which would force Simon and McBreen to play for the one spot. Hmmmmmm..........

Was a good nite....took a mate of mine and his 5 yr old to the game and they had a great time and will be back.
Shame it rains every home game but good to see there are at least 6000 people who will turn up rain, hail or shine. Hard to pick a mom for this one, i am stumped for once but thought Perez was a differnce. Matt Ryan also changed the game with a couple of great saves. Didn't convince me for a while but came good. We are in for a good season.......

If we get a gun striker we will be hard to beat ( although we are already!). A great striker will take us from a top 6 side to a potential comp winning side....tho' will it be a few guest appearance's or someone for the remainder of the season ?

Probably only a guest player hopefully he can score a goal or two unlike the strikers we have now. If they are smart they will announce it two or three week before our return home and hopefully they can boost the crowds at home. Perez is mates with Tevez? We can always hope.

Can't believe Fury coach and McClaren blew up over ref blowing half time and not allowing them to take the corner. Minute was up and the corner taker was just dawdling over to the mark. Ref was clearly unimpressed with their lack of urgency.

Pedj man of the match for me!

It was bloody worth it! Our strongest and/or most consistent team was on the pitch today. 3-2 was an unlucky result for us. Both or goals that we conceded came off our own players and an extra 3 goals could of been put away with Mcbreen just heading over, Simon missing 1v1 and Perez robbed by the referee(FFA's anti Perez agenda) from a blantant foul.

We played some beautiful, short passing futbol. One of the best game I've ever seen from the Mariners IMHO. :)

I've just seen replays of our first goal, and it is f**ken quality lead up play. One touch passes, one side of the pitch to the other, long crossfield passes, run to the by-line, F**K ME it is so good to watch. Will keep this one on IQ for a while.
