ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Sadly too many players not digging in.

Izzo hasn't got the quality to play at this level, Garcia is on a Charlesworth funded holiday.

Austin thinks running fast in straight lines for 60 minutes will get him noticed? Dream on son.

8 V 11 we had no chance.

Credit to Roy. Give him service and he scores

TBH I think now is the time to cash in on Austin. 5 goals from LW in a bottom of table side looks impressive but he is a bit of a one-trick pony. Not to be too harsh but maybe we can sell an athlete and buy a footballer.

First off credit to Roy, amazing what can happen when a Striker gets decent service.
Secondly becoming more impressed with Liam Rose, for someone so young looks so composed in the Midfield.
Just hope the Mariners can land the fish they need to be competitive in 2016/17.

I actually largely agree with Roy's assessment this week - about how we're an experienced CB and MFer away from being relatively competitive. I think Dodd's view during the game was overly simplistic - as someone else on here pointed out, we're shipping quite a bit because of issues in CB and DM and we seem to be pretty prone to those 10/15 minutes or serious lapses... I think a lot could be fixed by having cooler, experienced heads to steel the players.
And I think Austin is worth holding on to... He's produced relatively well, comparatively, and I think he presents enough of a danger that he draws some attention away from elsewhere... At current form, I'd rather him than Ferreira on the wing tbh, and I don't want to get rid of him either.

Roy has always worked tirelessly every game puts preasure on keepers and gets in the face of defender's ,he works hard . Give me 9 other Roys.

Not much to like last night.
Izzo is terrible.
The back four are terrible.
The midfield was terrible...Rosebuds passing was good at times and he looked good going forward but was poor defensively.
Garcia looked average.
Only Roy looked the required standard.
We need more than 4 new players.

You could've jsut posted the same post you've posted for the whole last 2 years.

Actually Dibo.
I think we have been shit for 2.5 years.
Hard to post anything positive in the Moss era and it's getting equally hard to post anything positive about this season.
But previously our best player, who saved our blushes on many many occasions was Liam Reddy.
With that wallpaper gone....the cracks are glaringly big.

Our problems are deeper than this keeper or that. We underspend compared to the rest of the league. With whatever coach you like, with whatever keeper you like, in that circumstance we're going to struggle. Change the coach, change the keeper, have Scarlett Johansson on a trampoline at half time if you like, we're still going to struggle.

It's not. But to imagine that you can say anything you like and nobody will disagree with you is delusional.

There are lots of very simple fixes proposed for our problems, and frankly they ignore the depth and complexity of the problem.

For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.

So why is it taboo to talk about it?

Huh? That's all we're doing here - taking about what the problems are. Dibo's objection - I think - was to the 900th "my God we're shit post" with unrealistic, if any, suggestions to how this could be remedied.
We're not likely to face a wholesale clean out, whether it's needed or not - because the money just isn't there and, tbh is probably more likely to lead to yet another rebuilding season than not.
So we're not being relegated and we're seemingly not able to get a new coach who is willing to work to the budget so...
Where do we go from here? THAT is the interesting discussion because that might actually get us somewhere rather than wallowing in our misery.

Walmsley is on the record as a massive Izzo fan. He made it clear at a pregame that he is his number 1

Proof positive that he is unfit to continue in his role

Don't you think he could have been trying to offer some support to his keeper in the hope of building his confidence going into a game, especially as the 2nd and 3rd choices (Bray and HB) were not available.

Especially after the hammering he has been taking on social media.

However, I guess you have to call it as it fits your views.

People tend to forget Izzo is only 20 and learning in a very stressful environment. There is no point comparing him to Reddy, Danny etc . Even Matty was well protected by a far superior team in front of him, and really was very unusual in becoming so good at an early age. I'd like to see him continue next season but in a team more organized and more experienced. He has the talent but will need the mental toughness to get through the season he has had.
