Absolutely pathetic. No fight, no pride.

It's embarrassing that Garcia has to play with such a joke of a team.
to hard . we were clearly out classed . with Austin not there , relieving pressure .
they stacked the midfield and killed our kids

It seems that this year TW is playing a lot of guys out of their natural position to cover for inadequacies of the roster or the players. Just in the last couple of weeks for example:

-MCGing, came through youth as a DM, we have turned him into a CB

-Niell, left full back, and not a great one this season, turned into an attacking midfielder??

-Fletcher, out and out striker, start on the wing with no forwards on the bench to relieve late in the game??( do we seriously not travel with another forward in case of injury??)

-McDonald, where did he even end up? When he went on we only had Garcia and Bingas as forwards on the field, the rest was made up of DMs, FBs and CBs?

-Stella, left wing at MV, and not a great one, so might as well turn him into a 10...

My point is while we are publicly trying to promote youth, they need some leadership, and experience. Not just experienced players around them, but experience IN THE POSITION! Imagine what went through Niells head before New Years... "So you missed a chunk of last year, have been struggling at FB, so tonight we are going to move you to 10. I know you have never played there before, and have shown no skills to say you can, but you have a big motor. Oh, and you don't get 10mins of the bench to get a feel for it, your playing all 90."

What pissed me off is that Roar were allowed to motor around at will, because all their players were greedy for defending and for the ball. Everyone on the ball always had at least three options to pass due to their teamwork. We just didn't pressure them, or track players closely to cut off the options. When we supported the ball player like Roar did we looked great, but it was all too rare.

Roar didn't just pack the midfield. They packed the front line and the defence when it was required.

Our passing was a little better than last week. But we were tame pussies against them tonight (pun intended).

I hate Harper with a passion, but I agree with his assessment on our play tonight. Our intensity was very poor in comparison to Roar. Credit to Roar though. They were excellent. But how much was that due to us just letting them play?

Back to the drawing board.

I haven't even seen the game and i'm f**king steaming.

I'm a fan of TW but have to say Moss would be absolutely smashed if we got done like that under his watch.

We better smash Adelaide or i will be reaching for the pitchfork.

I cant work out if Austin goes lame, why replace him with Fletcher?
And then why play him on the wing?
If we have to play 433 and not adjust the system, why not Josh Rose to LW and Brad McDonald to LB?
Not that I know if McDonald is any good but he keeps getting selected in the squad.
I think JRose has to reinvent himself anyway, he is a liability at LB now.
None of the goals were Izzo's fault but he just doesnt command the box, make himself available or instill any confidence at the back.

Not sure how long Storm can hold his position

I havent seen the game and just know he made a C of himself. I saw a 10 sec grab and Posco looked terrible as well.
I remember a mate of mine that used to play for South Melb in NSL days. He told me they had a hard arse Pommie coach (not manager...just to teach skills).
If they didnt win a defensive header.....they would me abused massively. They didnt make the same mistake the following week!

When Ferguson was here with Lawrie he was fierce and basically did all the coaching and we were sharp all over.

Tony and Hutch dont have a f**king clue about defending but we still have done NOTHING to solve the problem.

Its getting beyond a joke.

slight touch on the ball, heavy touch on the player, that's always a foul. It was a careless tackle - he should have been able to make the tackle without collecting the player, but he got him high around the high/hips with a carelessly high leg and collected his legs behind him. I'm happy with that being a foul.

I simply can't come to that conclusion when he hasn't made the slightest attempt to stop 2 of them. If he at least tried, made a dive and couldn't make it, fair enough, maybe a better keeper could have got it but can't complain too much. But I don't see how you could say 'not his fault' when there's no attempt.

Although for once of them, Montgomery was right in front of the ball and turned his back pulling away. A bit of commitment from him could have had a fair chance of stopping it too.

LOL :vhappy:

Wait till you see your fav defender,
5'10 'Storm Boy'
make a pelican of himself (see what i did there :headbounce:)

completely missing a header up against 5'10" Jamie Maclaren, who has it drop to his feet inside the 6yrd, then smashes it into the net to make it 2-0.

This is what you get with such young players. One week we're all talking defensive improvements the next how awful we (rightfully) are. They will be inconsistent unless further bolstered. And even though they are improving, will still have a shocker one in every handful of games. And playing roar is a long way from helping. Good side.

Unfortunately can't see it getting much better against the reds tbh.

Hell Yeah !

They were able to rest Carrusca (sub'd on @ 64') & Djite (@ 79') for most of the match against SydFC and STILL looked sharp in the attacking third.

Hopefully in the ACL play-off game on Tuesday night Shandong Luneng will run some legs off them.

Indonesian :p & designated Asian Import Sergio van Dijk is back at AU for that game too, so dont know which of their other foreign imports (Isais, Sanchez, Cirio) wont be playing in that game & will be well rested for us instead ???
