The real worrying thing is there is a shit load of young talent there that are being asked to rise above the current ability levels. Many should not be playing full games but should be being eased in.

They definitely need more guidance on the pitch.

The rebuilding plan is not bad it is just that there are a couple of bricks missing from the foundation.

Unfortunately if those "bricks" are not put in place soon the whole structure will collapse.

Maybe I'm an optimist but I saw a decent amount of promise in that second half - going down to 10 men seemed to galvanise the side a bit. Not sure I agree with Sim coming off but TW is the gaffer, that's how he saw it. His substitution decisions would've been impacted by the red card unfortunately.

As for the big picture, I feel Bozza kind of struck an interesting chord in the post-match analysis - he mentioned that this entire scenario ("entertainment over results") has been enabled by the way the league is set up (no promotion/relegation). It absolutely sucks for us as fans, no doubt about it - but it's kind of proving a point about how the competition is structured at the moment.

Onto next week and I feel like if we can summon some of that resolve for the Nix game we're a chance of grabbing something. Or at least the "glass half full" mentality in me thinks so.

Coach interview. 9.5
Coach handled bozza/rudan very well. After bozza/rudan/peacock were called out by Ange this week.Ange has put a rocket up the commentators lack of critique and lack of assertive opinion and lack of aggressive analysis.

Bozza made a good point about relegation.lack of.

TW would normally have been treated to Aloisi kid glove treatment like when he was at Heart. TW is not part of the mates club/boys club/ex professional players club/ex Aussie international club.

Bozza/Rudan never once mentioned role Moss has played in our current rebuilding plan/stage.

The commentary was very bias against CCM. Like Robbie had inside information that we fans are not privy to.

Bozza/rudan also sounded like they had inside information from ex players and ex coaches and ex management.

TW handled well. He obviously didn't listen to the Ange interview this week.

Phoenix will be out to get us next week.

Is JH still out crook?

Jets last season.........they were worse than we are this season.Yet commentators seem to have forgotten Jets last season. And how FFA is the owner of Jets.I don't want to be a relocated club like in AFL.I don't want to be like Newcastle Jets.

I want CCM to be playing and based on Central Coast in 10 years. Losing for this season and next season is a price worth paying.

I get the feeling that's the last we'll see of Izzo this season.

I think we've well and truly come to the point where the Walmsley experiment has failed - time for Mielekamp/Storrie/Charlesworth to get on the phones and find a new coach... we need to play well with 11 players on the field, not just 10.

Izzo has been shocking and the fact Reddy (dickhead or not) was so good has left TW and the club with a red face.

TW was a cheap option for the club. I think with a proper squad he might be a decent coach.
Storrie is just smoke and mirrors.
Shaun has been very impressive and i don't think he can be blamed for an owner who doesn't give a f**k about the club or our results.

Losing 4.1 is embarrassing but although we are shit, a dodgy FFA stooge ref made sure we couldn't compete.

I've said it all year and will say it until we fix it. We need a defensive coach (not talking about head coach) to teach the basics that TW and Hutch are unable to impart. Our ball watching and standing off beggars believe at times.

Monty, is an old man and not a cultured player but is head and shoulders above anyone else in our squad.

TW is not the enemy. He has been sent out to fight with one hand behind his back. But he needs to stop being the snake oil salesman and fight for what is right for us. And that is not to be stabbed by RC in the back and then to be sent out and have to tell us our 16yo were unlucky again.

I'm close to loosing patience but with a cockhead like Charlesworth directing him he is on a hiding to nothing.

Wombat.

Agree we have goalkeeper problems

TW saves us a coaches wage as he is technical director. I am sure he is on acceptable/reasonable remuneration.
TW was a very successful finder and developer of under 21'talent. If he had the Newcastle budget....the Wellington budget or the Perth budget I think we would see a different squad. Plus he cannot move on all the older more experienced players.

Sean/Shaun seems to be a great communicator as CEO.But he is more a coo/gm as the finance department dosnt report to him. Finance reports to Storie. This reporting issue may have been a cause of the finance crisis we found ourselves in when MC took over.

Our chairman/owner is playing a long game.

He must realize we are then Valencia/Liverpool of the a league. We don't have aspiration to be Leicester city......our history is about winning and playing for trophies. We have a rich history of winning and playing great football.......and having great players in our squads. And having great potential in our squads.....

To name a few.....Ryan,Duke,Mcgincley,Bernie,mustafa, Captain, wilkinson......we produce/'play a role in developing some of the greatest ever Australian players. A,proud history of producing players or playing part in their developement to play in NSW /VIc NPL.

We need a bigger squad. We need a Young broich and a young gun centre foreword.2 exciting 3/4'year contracted. 500k to 900 total cost.,just like Ange did at Brisbane Roar. Ange and Brisbane roar as our model. Commitment to a league for next 3/4'years.

I am sure other ALEAGUE,clubs will, share prospects that they have scouted. Share scouting.

We sell our good talent.
We are bargain basement with our recruitment.
I've said it before....RC is a slum landlord....we are his shitty tenants.

Austin.

We really missed Austin
I knew he was one of our best. But now I have him ranked as our number 1 player.

Pace, power, direct, engaged. Improves his right foot and his finishing and he will be worth 900k in 18 months.

And a socceroo in 12 months? What do you think?

Fabio looks very tentative and lacking confidence. Another 2 games off the bench. What do you think?
Really what him to improve his defense/supporting midfield/fullback.

Take the first half hour out and I thought we did OK.

And in the first half hour I thought Izzo has two hands on the ball before Grant kicked it out for Brosque to eventually score for the first and it's an obvious no penalty for the second.

That changes the game. Sydney is up three-zip and don't have to play anymore, and we get time and space to play even with ten men.

I thought we were actually pretty decent. As Ancient Mariner said earlier they showed more heart than some on here.

We're not a NPL side, we're a weak HAL side. We're hamstrung by having not all the cap available to us (let alone marquees) and even then some of the cap is tied up in severance packages it seems.

In the last few years we've moved a lot of players on - Seip, Kim, Mané, Reddy, Bosnar... Their payouts will all be in last year's cap or this years, some might even be staggered out. That's a huge problem.

As a result I'm not that keen to rip into Walmsley. He's keeping us pretty competitive in shocking circumstances.

He's also not signed up any washed up hacks for over the odds who've had to be moved on later...

I do get annoyed with players who should show more - Caceres needs to take this opportunity, because he wouldn't be starting at any other club. Ditto for Fitzy.

Monty on the other hand will run through brick walls week after week. His passing game is better too, he's keeping the ball moving and in yellow possession really well (though it's notable that he doesn't get bagged for sideways passing in the way some of his predecessors did!).

And young prospects like McGing really excite me. The kid looks great. Heward-Belle looked terrific last night. Almost all the other kids have shown flashes.

If we weren't sending them out to get buried every week they'd be better off though!

To hard me thinks . We were never gunna win in sydney without austin , fab half fit
And williams doing his usual stooge routine.
I'll see what happens in jaunary .
See what mich says on the 6th .

Have a few beers . Tackle the wife.
And see what happens.

I think what we saw last night was the worst team on paper at a very low ebb of confidence.
The game was lost in the first half hour, the coach having already conceded defeat three days earlier*, before we slowly got our shit together against a SFC with very little to do.
We're now anchored in last and a good result for us is to go half an hour without conceding.
We surrendered possession over and over, let them come and spent far too long in our own half.
I think I've seen enough of Izzo and Caceres. Heward-Belle did well and I hope he goes on with it. Is this not McGing's second time giving a penalty away this season? I'd drop him.
We need three good signings in Jan.

*"It's a great game for me to go in with no expectation results wise. I think people will be expecting Sydney FC to win at home. For me, what a great opportunity that is to get something out of the game for all the work the boys have put in so far," he said.

Moss negotiated large back end payments for 2 recently departed players which makes it almost impossible for TW to be allowed to bring in players in Jan (according to the person who leaked Reddys documents on Twitter last night)

We are owned by a man with no interest in the club. He is assisted by an ex EPL Muppet who financially destroyed a club once before. The club was spiteful enough to reject Lawries offer to help any way he could off the pitch.

Things like shirt designs, clueless coaches, rubbish players etc aren't actually relevant when you owner wants you dead. No one can be as inept so it must be deliberate

Seeing the last of Izzo was about the only highlight for me last night. I missed the game and genuinely couldn't care less.

Just a couple of points that others may have overlooked.
When we won the championship we were left flat broke and $5m in debt.
Charlesworth took on the team and covered that debt.
OK, he may have been protecting his investments, but he took it on and he is not a billionaire.

Alternative would be the FFA taking over the licence.
Where would that leave us?
We would not be like Newcastle, or any other capital city, which the FFA will protect until they can find a buyer.
We would be treated either like Nth Qld or Gold Coast Or be shifted to Sutherland lock stock and barrel to form the 3rd Sydney team.
FFS the FFA have made their intentions clear. Regional teams are not the way to go. Build teams where the populations are in the cities.
They are even trying to shaft the Nux because they do not fit into their model.

Point 1. I suspect that our owner is not rolling in cash like some others and has ongoing problems with liquidity. There is absolutely no point in him intentionally running an investment of CCM's size into the ground.

Point 2. If this is the case. What are the other alternatives to what he is doing now?

I am not trying to make excuses, I am trying to understand and be realistic.

As it has always been the Club is in dire straits, only now, we are between a very large rock and a very hard place.

AS Dibo pointed out, some poor investments in the past are still haunting us, and until we can crawl out from there, things will remain grim.

That he hasn't got a spare brass razoo doesn't mean he wants the club dead. He's made some bad hires (FWIW I don't put Walmsley in that category) but for most things I believe that the errors are more f**kup than conspiracy.
