ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

You go on the SFC forum and there, at least you see fans passionate about their team who can be critical of the organisation without being seen as a blasphemer and told (more or less) to jog on.

Oh come on... Did you get a violin for Christmas or something?

Noone's criticising you for being critical of the club - the whole reason for AM's post being relevant, was you stating that you're done with the club and hope we get smashed.
That's not criticism, that's just a tantrum and it wouldn't be received any better on the SFC forums...

Since when did SFCU become the benchmark? lol. Last time I looked (admittedly a few years ago) it was like a competition to see how many f**ks and c**ts you can get in each post

I'm done with the club= I'm done giving a shit when game-day comes around. This crap has gone on for too long and it only ends with the same frustration. This team is sub-par. Sure there are piss poor efforts, but it's hard to fault players who aren't up to scratch. But the players who don't put in- and the manager who is responsible for training and fielding the team, and the people upstairs who are responsible for signing/ maintaining players? Damn right if I don't stick the boot in for being so clumsy or downright inept with a team I have cared about and supported (via time and money) for over a decade. If getting smashed is the only thing that will wake up those in the positions of power (that I don't have) to change things? Then yeah- bring it on. A tantrum would be blasting the club after a single loss. But we're not talking about a single loss here- we're talking about nearly 2 full seasons of this garbage...

I get the feeling that's the last we'll see of Izzo this season.

I think we've well and truly come to the point where the Walmsley experiment has failed - time for Mielekamp/Storrie/Charlesworth to get on the phones and find a new coach... we need to play well with 11 players on the field, not just 10.

Agree on Izzo - not so sure about TW... I'd be curious to see what he could do if MC actually loosened the purse strings a little bit first... I don't think changing the coach will make much of a difference if we're still looking at the same team setup.

I am having many moments of emotion in the last few weeks.
My observations so far tonight.
Liam Rose is in need of a run in NYL.
Howard Belle looks better than Izzo
Caceres has either no care or doesn't give a shit.
Monty is showing his age
Sim looked good again yet he was subbed
Fitzy looked a passenger
McGing and Ascroft look like they are getting better together.

I must say that I am a glass half full kind of person and I must admit that this season has tried me. I can see that the experience of this season will help next year.

I think the talent is there in the squad.
I simply don't think that TW is capable of properly developing that talent.

CCM are the team I support, but I'm at the point where I can't be bothered giving a shit about the results anymore. I feel as if we're being paid lip service by those in the positions of power at CCM now- there's only so long the excuses can continue. It's all well and good to tell somebody like myself (who's supported the Mariners since Day 1) not to let the door hit my arse on the way out, but what about the casual fans in the wider community? The people who would be more inclined to come to the home games if they thought there'd at least be a contest to enjoy? No team can stay at (or near) the top all the time, but the lack of direction and bad publicity around this team drives the casual goers away- they might not take the time to vent their thoughts via an avenue like this, but the empty seats at home games speak just as loudly. That only feeds the death-riders and CCM (in it's current state) provide plenty of ammo. Not everything he says should count as gospel, but if Bozza's comments about the game and relegation at halftime aren't a wake-up call, I don't know what is?
Wish you said that the first time. Forget the results. Hope our AIS squad comes good and yes management are going the cheap route but can you blame them. Winning the whole thing still cost them money.

I feel like it's telling that Walmsley - in his interview - just highlighted himself, that he feels that we're missing some senior representation on the field.
I'd like to think that that at least means that he'll be pushing MC to let him to off an spend some money... Still smells to me like we need some money flowing a bit again.

I have no doubt that the talent is there... But I think we can all agree that it might not be ready yet and to me, that's really where the problem is... I don't really think that it should be up to the head coach to ONLY develop new talent... Most of that should be happening in the NYL team.
But the way the squad looks now, I swear, he's bound to be spending a lot of time drilling stuff that they should be able ot pick up from the senior players that are missing from the squad.

I hope the AIS squad comes good too! I'd never turn on the team- supporting any other team in the HAL would feel hollow. If the Mariners were at home tonight I would've gone- but there are a LOT of people who would've gone between 2005-2010 especially, who wouldn't bother anymore. Results like tonight only justify their absence. This shit keeps going on, and there will be more of those "used to go and watch CCM" people. Some more patient than others, but everybody has their limits- it's not the dyed in the wool faithful that the past 2 seasons affect- it's the former group. Like it or not, just the dyed in the wool coming to our home games is not enough to justify an A-League club on the Coast. We need the more casual fans more than most other teams. This "money ball" approach is awful to watch and playing a considerable part in dwindling crowds.

Agree with all that, and while I will always renew my membership there are plenty that won't, and have thrown theirs away already. Not just because of the results, moving the games, but the messages coming out of the club are wrong. If the club doesn't care about results and building a long term supporter base (locally!), why should the fans?

Summary of a very disappointing result.

First penalty was a dive, he caught McGing's leg on the way down. I can understand Izzo's frustration but absolutely dumb to get the 1st yellow.

Defence is improving but still a long way to go. Still improving with 4 goals let in? Yes, 2 from pens and 1 when own goal when the team was on its last legs.

On individual players.

I liked the young keeper, hopefully a good find there.

Sim appeared to be the best CCM player on the park in the first half, definitely our best.

Very disappointed with Caceras, if he wants to leave in Jan. I would definitely let him go.

Credit to the team for the second half performance.

Monty's post match interview was worth bottling and shows why he is captain.

The future?

I can understand what the club is trying to do but they definitely need to buy a couple of quality experienced players a la Monty or the plan will not work.

Charlesworth and Storrie are in England and if they cannot find a couple of quality old heads who would like a final couple of extra years in the sun they deserve what they get.

How many in the squad are A League standard this year?
Roux, McGing, Monty, Caceras, Fab, Austin

Ashcroft, Fizty, Roy boarder line

Rest premier league

No coach can win with that but we actually where a real chance in the 1st half of the season so far, but we falling apart instead of improving.

No squad continuity- why red cards and injurys

Defence is improving but still a long way to go. Still improving with 4 goals let in? Yes, 2 from pens and 1 when own goal when the team was on its last legs. First was unlucky rebound, but still weak keeping. Just the sort of goals we conceded last year.

On individual players.

I liked the young keeper, hopefully a good find there. Played well but not confident on crosses/corners. Need an experienced keeper now.

Sim appeared to be the best CCM player on the park in the first half, definitely our best. Played well nice cross for the goal.

Very disappointed with Caceras, if he wants to leave in Jan. I would definitely let him go. He's gone mentally. Some play harder when loosing (Monty) and some give up (Caceras)
