Players Season 2012/2013 HAL8

I'd even play oly at 10 before i gave rojic another go.

Disagree. Came into the middle of the season without a pre season, as a very young player and showed the potential he showed immediately? Sorry TB, I think your crazy. The kid set the league on fire at times, then showed he just needed a bit more stamina mentally and physically. Really really looking forward to seeing him play this year.

Agree 110% Sterjovski will play forward & Rogic will play 10. Can't wait. Still think we will have another forward though. I've got the feeling Arnie has a 23rd in mind.

I am interested to know what Mile's signing means for the likes of Hearfield and Pellegrino. Mile is a wide attacking midfielder who can play up front exactly the role Hearfield filled for us last year and Pellegrino just took another step down the midfield options.

f**k!

Agreed. Big one. Makes me sad inside.

But no matter what club, you can't stand in the way of a player and the money and attraction of overseas football. But mostly the money. It sucks but that is life in this league.

Anderson and Sainsbury have a lot on their shoulders now!

As does Dutchy. He's got to mentor these blokes as well as concentrate on his own game. There were a few frailties creeping into his play last season. It will be interesting to see if he can juggle the two responsibilities.

We will sign another defender if Wilko goes. We can not afford to go into a champions league season without 2 good first choice CB's. If we get cash i wouldn't be surprised if Arnie tries to get Neill.

Anderson is a good prospect but we are the Premiers. We need a solid tested defence not one with prospects

Rogic didn't really impress me, the press talked him up and I just couldn't see it, he showed glimpses of ability but made a heap of errors.

Sad to see Alex Wilkinson might be leaving.

Lucas Neill?

I hope not, we could get so much better.

what because he has a tremendous strike ? he runs across the box and hits a beautiful shoot from outside the area?
every defender in the a-league worked that out after 3 first team games .
did he deliver a class pass for a striker after that? ummm no. the kids good but no play maker.

Arnie said Mile will be used in the centre - partnering Bernie or Kwas.

Losing Wilko is big and indeed very sad. He embodies the Mariners. But love to see him get some good pay days and set his family up. Aussie call up... I don't know. I think it's unlikely it will lead to that. I think Devere will prob be the next new face and there's plenty of other players rightly or wrongly that would be considered in front of him too.

Ummm.... bug question, captaincy? Hutch or Dutch?

I personally think Anderson is real quality and I'm excited at least by this aspect as I presume he will likely get the nod.
Really impressed me last year at GCU and for Australia. I don't see him as too green.

With Oates and Siansbury also, will Arnie really go after another CB? I'm not so sure.

Yes - the press did hype him and the opposition quickly discovered how one-footed he was and he made a lot of eroors. But the guy was not fit and made a lot of the errors when he was tired. A full pre-season will do him wonders.

Sad to see Alex Wilkinson might be leaving.

Yes it is sad - but you can't begrudge Alex a decent payday.

A cash-strapped club could do better than the Socceroos captain?

A good-looking, savvy media performer that has also said he wants to invest in a HAL club. We need investment and a rise in profile. Is interested in youth development as proven by his scholarships - fits with the Mariners philosophy. Northern beaches boy. Where do Arnie and Moss live? He does not sit that well with the western suburbs like Kewell or Emmo. We are probably going to lose some of our pipeline of youth from the western suburbs with thw Wanderers coming in. Who would be better to inspire more of the Smurfs north shore and northern beaches juniors to head north.

Seems to be a good fit.

Will it happen - I doubt it. But I also doubt that we could do better.

Even at the start off games he was making errors, fitness was not the issue, it was they wanted him to be a playmaker which he wasn't capable of doing.

I agree

Okay lets think about Lucas Neill
1. Only after the money
2. Would only be the average A-League defender
3. And finally he is slow and makes a fair amount of errors, the main error being failing to mark.

Anderson would be a better choice.

Go Marvin, only an average A-league defender? That's funny.
There Is not one a-league club that wouldn't turf one of their existing centre backs to have Lucas.

You Muppet.
