Players Season 2012/2013 HAL8

Would be a excellent move for Ryan if he signed with Spurs.

Cudicini & Friedel are getting older which could lead to Ryan finding his way onto the bench soon.

I would also be happy to see Ryan sign with Fulham because training with schwarzer would be beneficial for him.

Any other EPL club would be fine but those clubs are ideal.

I`ll go out on a limb here & say Liam Reddy is available.
Reddy has never reached his full potential but my faith in JC & Arnie thinks they could do wonders for him.

Holy shit... are you serious? Make sure that bullet proof vest is done up nice and tight :)

Liam Reddy??? No way, NO FRIGGIN' WAY! I don't care if it's the difference between a premiership and not... I just don't want to sell my soul to get it. Reddy is a douche bag... and that's being pretty harsh on douche bags.

That's my opinion. I respect your Style, and I'll be interested to see what the general consensus is.

Is the "no dickheads" policy still in force? It should be if we're thinking of Reddy.

Liam Reddy provided me with one of my first good memories at the Mariners. We were in a penalty shoot in the CWC qualifiers. One of our penalties hit the post - rebounded - hit his head and went in. Absolute gold!!

If Maty did go, Nathan Coe's contract has just expired and he is clubless. At 28 he may be ready to return home. He left from the Strikers years ago to Inter and then PSV but didn't get any first team game time until he went to the Danish league where he did very well. Worth an approach to see if he wants to come home.

Not as far left as it seems but the no dick heads policy would probably kill this; the thing I hate most about Reddy was how brilliant he always seemed against us! Even last year, away to Sydney, it could have been 3 or 4 nil to us instead of hanging on for 1-0.
Ryan deserves his chance, I just hope he gets it and isn't lost in the morass of lower levels of English football

Slowly, but much quicker than I like, the Mariners are being dismantled: Simon, Griffiths, Wilko, Ryan are all key players. This coming season is going to be a real test of the quality of Arnie's coaching and recruiting skills. It is going to be one very interesting and challenging season but as always - never write off the Mariners!

A bullet proof vest will not save you.

If Reddy was in the team, I would have to consider my future with the Mariners.

The smell would stay for years.

Add Musty to your list and it is a worry...

Can't produce any statistical evidence, but I'd be pretty confident that Reddy would be the second most hated player the league has produced (still a long way behind K Muscat)

Liam Reddy?
Stomper Reddy?
The stomper Reddy?
You must be f**king kidding me?
There is "almost" no one I would like to see less at the mariners and that's "only" because people like Muscat and scakwhacker exist.

Re fire sale. Pfftt. We're the mariners. Adversity is what makes us tick, it's food for the soul. And our squad is still excellent.

Spine....

CB - Anderson is excellent I think and beside Dutchy will flourish and a bit more pace on the centre will be a welcome. Oates, Sainsbury...

DM? Said it before, we have Hutch Cacere's and Olly. I think it's enough. Griffiths was great, but he did have a few terribly off games and periods too. He wasn't perfect.

AM - Rogic, McBreen was very able for us there last season to be fair and again we also have Caceres.

Forwards, well Mile may not have Matty's hustle or physicality. But he is a true finisher, and a high calibre player. Kwas for mine is peaking and in career best form and may be another real surprise this season. then we have Bernie whose developing well, Duke - bound to be hungry and keen to impress and not without ability. Mc Breen.

And of course our other faithfuls... Dutchy - best CB in the league and a goal scorer. Weemac - he's massive for us as is Pedj, Rosey... squad players like Hearfield and Pellegrino.

Even without Amini, Griffiths, Wilko, and the two Matty's. We have a side people. A good side. Maybe even a great one. We really do.

Get a grip.

Yes he is a tosser and a thug but he is a very decent keeper. Get him off the piss and set him up with a quality coach and you will reap the rewards. On his day he is a better keeper than Danny.

I couldn't give a toss if we sign him or not but the fact is he is a very capable shot stopper.

Been overseas for a while and just comeback to two massive bits of news.

1. The signing of Mile is huge. Top quality player and will be one of the best to ever pull on the yellow jersey. Hugely exciting. Not really a striker but knows how to finish in a way that McBreen, Kwas and Hearfield can only dream of.

2. Wilko possibly going to Korea. Terrible news.
Wilko had his best year since season 1 and has finally grown into the skipper role. He was immense and I hope he doesn't join the dog eaters.
There are more technical players (Anderson may be one) but there are no players more important players than Alex at CCM.

I,d still be looking at a starting DM (excited by what I've read about caceras but haven't seen him yet) and reckon we still need a genuine striker to partner Bernie. I see Mile in AM role.

If Alex leaves then we need a quality starting CB.

I dont think the yids will take on Ryan just yet.

I love your positivity FP - and for the most part I share it. This time last week we had 21 players signed and Mile confirmed to be signed - all ready before pre-season. I was pumped for the season and was very happy with the squad.

What has happened in a week. Now we have 22 players signed and are a week into the pre-season so I should feel better but my level of comfort with the squad has diminished somewhat.

However, my view of the club, has risen once again with the signing of Mile and the class the club has shown with the Maty and Wilko dealings. I love that I have seen Socceroos playing for my club like Viddy, Aloisi, Bosnich and now Mile. I love that the club has given the opportunity to Jedi, Musti, Matty, Rostyn and now probably Wilko and Maty. I love that we have had only two managers and that they are both still at the club. I love that we have 9 players that could play NYL in the main squad and I love the Board's vision of self-sustainability that you alluded to in another thread.

If we sell Wilko and Maty they will be missed. Ideally they will be replaced and we will have a squad of 22 for the season. As you said we still have a quality squad - I just would like a full squad.

+1; yes indeed, much to be proud of.
