ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Given we've not seen them play there, I'd be more inclined to use the word 'could' rather than 'can' - they certainly look like they have the skill-set, but until they're tested I'm really not sure whether it would work, particularly with regard to work-rate and positional sense.

Trent played there about 15 months ago in ACL

But I understand if majority of fans have blocked those memories out of our heads lol

And there was an article...which I can't seem to find where Arnold stated that he thought Trent was best suited to a no 6 role...

I disagreed, and I still disagree...but Arnold knows a thing or two about football

But there is nothing to suggest that Anderson would be at all capable of playing DM...

I think you'll find he played some DM at GCU

What's all this rubbish about playing centre backs as DM?

Monty is great in that spot. Hutcho is reliable and experienced (and occasionally superb..i.e.GF) and caceras looks like a great prospect.

How many friggin players do you want to cover that spot???

I think the idea of playing McBreen a DM (as mentioned before) has some merit, also maybe Fitzgerald could have a run there on the odd occasion & Passfield could be useful there too...:vhappy:

Hmmm...I think you have overlooked Weemac, Duke and Rose for the converted role.

Geria I think it is. Thought he was great (except when he was out on his legs) at the U21 WC aswell.
They have been paying attention to the Mariners at Victory. You could see there youth roster get some serious attention in the past 18 months,
looking like it will pay some dividends now. In fact, I think most teams have been paying attention after what GA has achieved with youth, and that our little golden era may be over to a degree. More reason to sort that CCF/CCM standoff out pronto.

I would say that GA saw what AP did at Brisbane... Brisbane were first!

Farina spotted a lot of the young talent at Brisbane - not Ange.
Yes that is correct Nichols, Zullo etc. Ange played them reguarly and took them to the next level, similar now to what Arnie has done! when Ange took over he got rid of Miller, Tiatto and Moore allowing the younger boys to shine.
Not down playing Farina's recruitment, but Ange put the polish on them! Ange coached them in the Australian set up as well, Nicholls, Zullo, Mackay, Oar etc for memory!

Whats that? First to sign up players to 5yr contracts? ;)
Whats happened to the young players Ange brought through at Roar? Did Ange even bring through any young players? They were all there before he got there. In fact rather than equip them for life after, most of them have faltered without him except for maybe Oar but like PJ said, he wasn't spotted by Ange.

Miron brought a lot of the young guys in as well. But if you ask the players it was Vidosic that scouted most of the players, talking to the institutes and the Australian Coach.... Ange
