ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!
If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.
ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.
was he any goodYes Sterj, just filling a role in the drill. But shows no extra goal keeper in the mix yet
Is it possible we might wind up going for a 'magic square' shape up top like Brazil did a few years back?
4-2-2-2:
PasfieldSainsbury Seip Anderson RoseMonty HutchMcGlinchey FloresDuke SimonThe top 4 are essentially free to float and cause maximum havoc. In defence you'd probably still set up with a 4-4-2, with all four front guys expected to ensure that there are at least two defending in the MF line and two in the FW line at all times.
I believe the whole set up this year is made for McGlinchey to f**king run riot.
What about 4-3-1-2, seems more "Arnie"
PasfieldSeip Sainsbury Anderson RoseMcGlinchey Monty HutchFloresDuke SimonFullbacks bomb on & McGlinchey tucks in to play off Flores, or Duke & Simon push out wide Flores pushes up & McGlinchey tucks in.I think the greatest thing our list gives the team this year is freedom to McGlinchey. He was great last year, but he is my player to watch this year. He could play anywhere in this line up with any make of players around him & he will be able to float around fitting where ever the space is.I believe the whole set up this year is made for McGlinchey to f**king run riot.
Nope, I took it as a descriptive term, like blonde or tall, not a racial slur in any way.
Ange has had enough time now too to implement his 'way', MV are going to be very dangerous this year. Then I think of our front 4 - Duke, Simon, Flores & McGlinchey - cripes that's a scary quad to defend against. CCM are looking even better than last year.
Still wondering though whether Arnie will shift the structure to suit the players at the back, adapt the style or leave as is. Whilst not weaker per se the defense is not as versatile or agressive as in recent times with the changes in personnel
Political correctness isn't.
May I suggest that if people want to continue on the debate, then start a new thread on the Other Stuff section. Now, back to more pertinent matters:
Marcel arrived today. initial indications from this video interview are all good. Seems to be a "Mariners" type of player. Love the Sheffield infused Dutch accent.

Was that you sitting in your car when I pulled up in the white van?Watched the Mainers train this morning for a half an hour or so. Phil Moss was in charge. Everyone was there bar, Sainsbury, Kwas, Duke & Seip. Simon looked very fit and energetic, Flores full of class. Mile was the second goal keeper.
