Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I wanna know where Club Bruse is. They won't show up on Ernie - muppets don't have to worry about that sort of thing.

CENTRAL Coast Mariners could be decimated in the January transfer window, with the potential departure of up to six players.
While interest in Tom Rogic (Celtic) and Matt Ryan (Randers, Denmark) is known, the Mariners were yesterday stunned to have received an offer - believed to be more than $350,000 - for striker Bernie Ibini from Belgium's Club Brugge.
And cashed-up Asian clubs are eyeing off top scorer Daniel McBreen, veteran John Hutchinson and crafty midfielder Oliver Bozanic...."
then Arnie "But I've got 100 per cent confidence and belief in my players that we can maintain our challenge.
"We might lose a bit of flair, but the structures will stay the same and I'm confident enough in our tactical and physical set-up.
"Plus we've got some good young kids that no one has seen yet, that are training in the youth team."

may not be the most reliable source but all sounds about right http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/f...-transfer-window/story-e6frfg8x-1226551416178

This really is shaping up to be the Mariners year - maybe it's the year just to say no a few times and make the money in future years?

Wasn't too concerned when it was 1 or 2 players... but then 3... 6...

It's one thing to say we need to sell a player or two to keep the club running, but do we need to sell half the team mid-season?

probably the only good thing about this is the amount of publicity that the club and the league are getting. the Mariners, and "soccer", seem to be everywhere in the media at the moment.

This 'fire sale' make me wonder about the true value of the A-League Premiership\Championship. When the Club is performing so well, a cert for the Top 6, and hot favourites for the double, what does this potential mass exodus tell the faithful fans?

The Club and the competition is only a vehicle for training footballers to enhance their careers overseas?
The Club's fans are immaterial, because the competition they come to watch is irrelevant?

I have thoroughly enjoyed this season up until Christmas. But now, even though I fully understand the motives of the players and the Club, I'm left with a feeling of 'Why bother?'

It leaves me with a sense that all Arnie's words about team mateship and club loyalty are just so much hot air. Or rather, only valid for the first half of the season.

Call me old fashioned, but I detest the mid season transfer window.

Maybe the locker room is not so rosey after all. Macdoanld not even a nod, Hearfield disapeared.
Surely with all this press work you would think someone would be re-signed to steady the ship or is it Arnie who is off elsewhere and everyone is grabbing what they can?

LOVE the Ernie ibini! Celery!

Don't get disheartened mate. Let's just keep th faith and see how it turns out first. We are a low cash club, performing outstandingly well, so clubs see us as a potential gold mine. And to a degree we are. This interest is a compliment and bound to happen. It's just pretty unique in Oz to have quite this much interest, Now it's to see how the club deals with it all. I'm sure it's challenging for them. But I have faith, that as ever, they are working in the clubs best interests.

There's also clearly some media mileage in this which they are enjoying pushing. But I agree, the January transfer window is an abomination if you are not a bigger/more cashed up club.
