So, as we go through more changes...
Pasfield
Morton Sainsbury Anderson Rose
Monty Hutch
McGlinchey [Flores] Fitzgerald
Duke
The evolution of the 2012/13 squad to the 2013/14 squad as I see it is below.
If they're in square brackets, they're not with us for 2013/14.
If they're in italics, it's rumoured or guesswork rather than confirmed.
#1) [Mat Ryan] (Club Brugge)
#2) [Daniel McBreen] (on loan til end of October)
#3) Josh Rose
#4) [Pedj Bojic] (SFC)
#5) Zac Anderson
#6) [Patrick Zwaanswijk] (retired)
#7) John Hutchinson
#8) [Adriano Pellegrino] (CCMA)
#9) [Bernie Ibini-Isei] (Shanghai SIPG)
#10) [Tom Rogic] (Celtic)
#11) [Olly Bozanic] (trialling at Luzern)
#13) Brent Griffiths
#14) Michael McGlinchey
#15) [Brad McDonald] (CCMA)
#16) Trent Sainsbury
#17) Anthony Caceres
#18) Nick Montgomery
#19) Mitchell Duke
#20) Justin Pasfield
#21) Mile Sterjovski (likely to stay?)
#22) [Jimmy Oates] (released)
#23) Adam Kwasnik (likely to stay?)
#24) Hayden Morton
#25) Michael Neill
#29) Nicholas Fitzgerald
#30) David Bradasevic (upgrade from NYL?)
#??) Matt Simon
#??) Marcos Flores (rumours, still seems unlikely)
It's not a bad list, but there are a lot of boxes still to be ticked.

#11) [Olly Bozanic] (trialling at Luzern)

. lucerne seem pretty certain they have got him

Mariners website said:
CENTRAL Coast Mariners wish to advise that despite Swiss Super League side FC Luzern announcing the signing of midfielder Oliver Bozanic on a two-year contract overnight, no transfer paperwork has yet been lodged with the reigning Hyundai A-League Champions.
Central Coast Mariners gave permission for Bozanic to travel to Switzerland this week to undergo a medical, train with the Club’s first team and meet the management of the two-time Swiss Cup winners.
Central Coast Mariners Group General Manager, Mr Peter Turnbull, said: “While we do expect Oliver to be transferred and are satisfied that we’ve helped groom yet another young Australian player, we believe FC Luzern should have finalised the appropriate paperwork before making any announcement.”
“Naturally, we wish Oliver all the best in the Swiss top flight should the deal be finalised, however it is now up to FC Luzern to fulfil their duties regarding the transfer.”
Central Coast Mariners will make no further comment regarding this matter at this time, however will update media if the transfer paperwork is finalised.

Five of the starting eleven from the Grand Final have now gone; I think if Arnie was looking for a new challenge next season he might have found one!
That is enough Departures, thank you, now for a look at the Arrivals Lounge over the next couple of months...

Sold ... Matty Ryan, Pedj, Olly, Berine, Rogic ... 5

Retired ... Dutchie, ....1

Injured ... Jimmy Oates ... 1

Vanished .. Hearfield ...... 1

Contracts not renewed.. Pelle [I hope so anyway], ... 1

Either 8 or 9 players depending on Pelle to replace

Signed Matty Simpson, David Bradasevix [from youth]... Plus Wilko rumour ....

Mile & Kassie kinda should be put out to grass ... but maybe a bridge to far to replace 11 players...

On Flores if he has big offers from the middle east in zero tax countries ... HHHHMMMMMmmm most would go to the Middle East...

Come on Arnie come on... on a brighter note the sale of players and the new media deal should ensure we can pay wages this season ...

I reckon Kwassie still has a bit to give, depending on his recovery goes. Mile, on the other hand, just seems out of his depth. Rare moments of brilliance but I can only count three or four from the whole season.

Pellers should be kept on as a coach only, or stick to the academy side to help the youth. Another player who looked well passed his prime every single time he has played for us.

Also, what happened to Oates? I must've missed the stories on him. I can't really remember seeing much of him at all to be honest, but I haven't followed the NYL side very closely.

As for the media deal, looking forward to the promise that the salary cap players might be covered entirely by the TV rights cash, would help us hugely. Talking of money, anyone know if we have a new shirt sponsor for this season? I heard Masterfoods didn't renew.

On Kwassie and Mile, yeah, not much need to cut players right now I'm a thinking:tophat:

On Mile, I've been a critic, thinking we could do better in our staring line up with Bernie or Olly, but for the last few several he was clearly better. And look how Danny has grown. Another good pre season with Arnie and Clarkey...who knows? Nice calm and experienced head. We could do a lot worse really. Especially as a squad player.

. agreed ... and i don't think mile's role with the youngens should be completely discounted either. sometimes it is better to have a mentor that is not part of the coaching staff

Agreed (too). I don't think Mile's time with the Mariners is over. He had a great last few rounds of the season and whilst he perhaps doesn't have the motor he once had, he still has the skill and experience to value add to our team.

Estás diciendo que el pequeño maestro está de vuelta?
We are talking about Perez I presume? In his short time with us, he was one of the players that gave me reason to smile. I think he could do things that no one else has been able to do (like score from the spot... lol). I would rather have Tommy or Musti back but Patricio is not a bad option.

I'd be very very keen to get Perez back.
I rate him as the best of the three.
I rate Musti slightly above Tommy but Perez was a class above.
Having said that the Coast was very alien to him apparently, so how he he not gonna be homesick second time around?

i really like the way the team is shaping up for next season - hope this comes off

i'm wondering if we'll see a 3rd formation in use. the diamond would work well with these players but i'm not sure we'd go back to it. already can't wait for season 9

c'mon flores!

Mile was what 2-3 inches from being the grand final hero - Need experienced guys for the really big games as well as what can teach the others & as said the turnover is to high we might have a couple of rough nights this season & need a cool experienced head to keep everyone calm.

Team not looking to bad - Depth will be the issue can the guys outside the 11 press for the 1st team enough or hold there own when selected as cover or given ago
