And here is the only video footage I have been able to find so far on Gameiro

http://www.footballaustralia.com.au...FC-v-Adelaide-United-FC-Hyundai-A-League/2723

3 notable highlights here...
1) his great defensive effort resulting in an assist (a tap in) for Brockie!
2) His goal, left foot volley
3) he then had a very nice strike from outside the box with his right

Hard working, and can shoot with both feet...we could do worse!

Also had a disallowed goal a week earlier against the Roar

I like the look of the lad, I really do!

In Arnie we trust!

I like him and he can play wide right. With Bozanic on trial OS and McBreen and Sterj both probably only to be around for a season the attacking spots will start to open up. Let's get him!!

to many middy . this is white boy country up here . there are just to many people that would
turn on anyone who came here and farted loudy in public that maybe closer to purple than pink.
bernie was raised aussie. yet, i believe he was panned quicker than any player in the squad last year
feel free to throw stones . but remember the vocies around you at the games .

Yes I do remember the ONE VOICE around me in Bay 38 who was criticizing Bernie even when he was on the other side of the field away from the play. When it was rumoured Bernie was leaving I said to one of my friends there who is this bastard going to lambast now with Bernie going? Seems we might have the answer and it could be a smorgasbord for him. My prayer for this season is that this wanker does not renew his membership.!

Watched a couple of Gameiro's games last season and he really stood out in an improving phoenix side. He has good technique, works hard and a definite eye for goal. I thought he'd be ideal in that McBreen role as second striker/number 10 because I seem to remember him having a pretty decent passing game as well.

Mariners move to snap up Flores

14 June 2013-SBS EXCLUSIVE: Dave Lewis

Options ... unwanted Melbourne Victory midfielder Marcos Flores has attracted interest from Central Coast Mariners and the UAE (Getty)
Central Coast Mariners is prepared to offer Marcos Flores a deal if he is released by Melbourne Victory to accommodate the signing of Greece national team captain Giorgos Karagounis.

It is believed that initial discussions have taken place between Flores’s representatives and officials from the A-League champion, with coach Graham Arnold, holidaying in Thailand, keen to snap up the creative Argentine midfielder.
But there is also interest from an unnamed club from the United Arab Emirates' Pro League for the Argentine who has been told by Victory coach Ange Postecoglou that he is unlikley to figure in his first team plans next season.
Removing Flores from the payroll is key to the signing of Karagounis with Postecoglou saying last week: "
"It's no secret that I'm trying to sign a new marquee and unfortunately it's just the way the system is in Australia that means I have to lose someone to make space."
If Flores opts for the Mariners - where Arnold could build his team around him and the mercurial McGlinchey - he would have to take a significant pay cut.
It's believed Flores commands $500,000 at Victory and he would have to accept around half that figure where he to head to Gosford, making the cash-rich Emirates a juicier proposition should a firm offer be tabled.
Arnold, whose only other visa players are New Zealand international McGlinchey and Englishman Nick Montgomery, is a long-time admirer of the 2010-2011 Johnny Warren medallist who returned to the A-League last season at Victory after an ill-fated stint with Chinese outfit Henan Jiaye.
Flores, 27, snubbed former club Adelaide United to join Victory but the deftly-skilled play-maker had a frustrating season under Postecoglou – often being played out of position – and will want to be playing regular football in 2013-2014, rather than facing rare cameos at Victory.
Flores made 22 appearances for the club last season and scored four goals.
Striker Matt Simon is back at Bluetongue Stadium after his injury-marred stint in the K- League Classic with Chunnam Dragons.
The capture of Flores would be a signal of intent from Arnold as seeks to remould his side following a raft of departures in the hunt for back-to-back A-League championships.
Meanwhile, 36-year-old Karagounis – who has been released by Fulham – is not expected to make a final decision on his future until the end of next week.

Hard to see him taking such a drastic pay cut when there's good oil money to be found. Just don't see it happening. But we are great, well coached side, and I guess our ACL will put him back in a better shop window again though...

Jesus tits christ, that is an awful lot of money. Would love to have a player of Flores' calibre, I once signed him to the Mariners on Football Manager during his Johnny Warren medal season. That said, no idea why he would take such a significant pay cut.

He could justify his pay cut simply by wanting to live on the Coast...that`s a good enough reason for me!

Sounds a bit like chess - sacrificing the Queen to take the King - taking Flores but giving Karagounis to Victory...
If, and it is a big if, Flores falls for the siren sound of the surf at Terrigal instead of Arabian petrodollars then the Mariners will have a creative midfielder who will take considerable pressure off Magic McGlinchey. It can only be a good thing.

what Arnie could do with a team with Flores pulling strings alongside Weemac, feeding the likes of Simon, Duke & Macca, Rose bombing on and an impeccable defense....the mind jibbers with excitement!

the pay cut is a biggy, the opportunity to play for a team where he will get the best out of himself, where he gets a lifestyle to envy and where he gets every opportunity to move onwards and upwards - there's reasons for either option to be taken
