ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

to many middy . this is white boy country up here . there are just to many people that would
turn on anyone who came here and farted loudy in public that maybe closer to purple than pink.
bernie was raised aussie. yet, i believe he was panned quicker than any player in the squad last year
feel free to throw stones . but remember the vocies around you at the games .
Complete and utter bollocks. I have never hear a racist comment at a Mariners game ever.

There was a very, let's just say, anti Bernie crew around where we sat. They were on him for nothing ALL the time. To be fair, I never heard a clearly "racist" word, but to everyone else around it sure felt like it. There was a real screeching anger and vitriol that just didn't match up even remotely with what was happening on the pitch.

We countered with Bernie chants, and going bezerk every touch he did. Worked a treat. Drove them crazy and they all got the hint and just shut up. Though they still scowl at us. :afro:
I had the same thing with Pedj though. the area around me would rant and rave even when i thought he was having a great game. i remember being amused when this went on one time and he ended up MoM

Lucas has stated he won't be signing anywhere until after the qualifiers because the qualifiers will determine where he goes.
If we make it - No A-League wants to play in a league than goes longer & closer to Brazil kickoff
If we fail - A-League would probably be his choice (He didn't say that but implied it when saying no to A-League if we qualify
We all heard that, but what leagues will actually suit his demands? Most European leagues will finish within a few weeks of the aleague this season, with the extra month of ACL, playing for ccm may actually takes him quite close

Another golden attempt at racism was a guy yelling out "don't mention the war" at the ACL match against suwon blue wings. I reminded him and the rows around him that heard his remark that "Australia and south Korea were allies in ww2 and the Korean War". I'm not sure he understood what I was talking about but a lot of people laughed.

I have heard comment at games that can be perceived as borderline racist. I do think there is a very fine line between obvious racist/derogatory comments and poorly worded banter, at times I find it hard to draw a distinction between the two. I haven't heard any comments that are truly malicious though, just fools trying to be cool or funny in front of their friends and their friends being ignorant enough not to put them back in their place.

for real???
people haven't heard racist comments at mariners games
wow

I've heard on at least 2 occasions, perhaps 3.

1 or 2 were back in 2008 or 2009 against the Jets
1 was for Zura...South American flop

And the other was someone yelling something about Song...I can't remember if it was actually racist, or just some other insult.
it was 5 years ago

And then in 2013, against the Western Sydney fans on the eastern side!
"At least I was born in Australia!"

Which my family...diehard Mariners fans, actually found offensive!
Out of our family...my mother, 2 sisters and my wife...my mother and wife were both born overseas.
With both my mum and wife being citizens for 20 years+

But I think it is a natural to assume that there would be a minority of fans who are plain and simple racist!

But the majority should always be considered over the minority!
ALWAYS!

But please avoid this naive mindset that racism isn't present at our football matches!
(NB: I am not accusing anyone of having this mindset, rather warning people not believe that)

I think there is absolute minimal racism at Mariners games. in 8 seasons i have maybe heard 3 or 4 comments after which the idiots have usually been told to pull their heads in. There will always be the token tool, not much we can do about it but make a point of it been unacceptable when it does happen. Back on topic, anyone have any player movement rumours?

It seems dead on the transfer front for mariners according to reputable sources

However I read somewhere yesterday (90% sure it was 442), with someone suggesting a Gameiro coming to the mariners for next season...
I googled Gameiro and Australia (because I recall a young Aussie for one of the underage Aussie teams)...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corey_Gameiro
Didn't even realise he played for the Nix last season...

Ex-Fulham player, only scored 1 senior goal (for Wellington), but has scored 6 in 8 appearaces for Australia u20s...and is part of the squad for the world cup

But another striker?
Just doesn't seem logical

yeah he scored a cracker for the Nix last season that made many people pay attention. agreed though, we almost certainly aren't in the market for strikers
