Yau was not great, looked good in a shit sydney team
Rewatching granfinal now think people will miss pedj if he goes. His crossing/shooting isnt always great. but if they were he would be playing EPL.
He constantly threatens opposition defences, and with rose, especially in this first half of the GF, have done most of our attacking as well as most of our defending.

Finding a player of pedj's ticker who will run up and down the wing all day, exemplified by pedj running onto a great crossfield ball early in the first half where you would think he was playing right wing, will be very hard, and if they can cross better harder, and there is no chance they will shoot better than pedj, though his shooting is poor, and if they do in 3 or 4 games with the way they play they will be playing first team for Real.

If we lose pedj all the pressure falls on rose, which removes the point of having bombing fullbacks, and arnie may well change the system, and rose may well end up out of the plans as a result.

That said rose killed the first half defensively and has been great in asia IMO. Eitherway onto second half rewatch for me

Pedj will be missed; his positive qualities clearly outweigh his bad ones. Good or bad he never hides and often redeems a poor performance with an outstanding moment. He is a true force on the pitch and opponents simply cannot ignore him. I can't see Arnie abandoning attacking full backs; whoever comes in will not have the same dynamic energy but will be better on the ball.
And who knows, if Wilko (or another CB is signed) does come back than maybe it will be Tesco at RB (which seems to be where the rumoured interested o/seas clubs would want to play him) ?
What I do know with absolute certainty is, in all the years of this forum, I have only ever, regarding which players to sign or formations to play, got one prediction correct ;)

If Wilko comes back, Trent stays and Pedj goes I would be playing Wilko at RB where he originally played for us. Solid as a rock - but we do lose some attacking thrust.

all very true. I get frustrated watching Pedj most games, when he blazes a cross way over the goal line or gives th ball to the opposition with a poor pass....but I would not like to see him go anywhere. I would love to know how many k's he clocks up most matches and even when does have a bad week, the opposition backs are run ragged because they never know when Pedj is going to get one right. Pedj will be a huge loss to us.

sounds like a fair bit of confidence in Wilko coming back, seems there's a crazy unexpected team reunion going on

Heard a whisper today that Arnie has signed to coach in Asia. Strange when Matty Simon says he's come back to Gosford so he can play under Arnie. Hmmmmm.

It`s often just as much a surprise to our guys as it is to our opposition when he does get it right.

And a comment on Facebook via the Mariners home page that Sheff Utd have interviewed Arnie...it all sounds (fingers crossed) like old rumours. Must be the time of year.

I've said it before up the back of Bay 17...Fkn Pedj's feet move faster than his brain and it never ends well...having said that he has had his moments and him going , while good for him, will be just a smidge sad o_O
