ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

There must be an existing arragement in place between us and them... e.g. play "x" number of games for Celtic and CCM gets $???. I wonder whether terms and conditions like that can work in our favour, i.e. we say to Celtic, give us Tommy on loan and you can rip up that clause in his existing contract.
[\completely naive speculation]

I just don't get the feeling that rogic will make a name for him self at Celtic. I'd suggest that any clause written into his contract in that manner will be worthless any way. Celtic will dump him for a loss in a year or 2 unless he has a cracking world cup.
Celtic really was a shit move for him.

Hmm, he did state, the other day, that his preference would be to return to us, then potentially the Smurfs of WSW - MV just if the others weren't an option... So with a bit of luck, Mossie's comments are spot-on - that he's been talking to Rogic and just maybe, Rogic has been holding out a little bit to see if we'd come to the table... That could help explain why all of the noise was from MV rather than both sides. I mean, he's in a hurry, but probably no more than he could afford to wait a day or two if need be.
Fingers crossed that this is also why we haven't heard anything major about potential new signings.

SFC - Have Marquee aussie spot - Lost Emo & losing Del Peiro (lot of money released there) - No CL - Want to buy not loan - Are shit but have the money required

MV - Have nicholos spot @ #10- Ties with Ange - Lots of Money - Want a loan till WC (suits Celtic) - Possible CL - Have the money to buy if Celtic wanted to sell - Have apparently got interest in a Japanese player

CCM - Have a spot @ #10 - His previous club - Want a loan till WC (suits Celtic) - Have no money to buy him

The rest of the world - Tommy who

Celtic - Why sell before the WC - If he is playing regularly he has great chance to be a starter - While the ball may never reach half way in our group if it does & he has a blinder than the offers may come pouring in.
If he plays shit they can keep him or sell him to SFC. Why sell when he has that much talent they could loan him out or keep training him. They were pissed when Arnie & Ange tried to tell them what to do.

SFC could afford to buy off Celtic (which I doubt Celtic would do) - SFC don't really look interested in a loan
MV could pay but won't unless Celtic offload him cheap - Doubt it - Loan suits MV & Celtic
CCM - No hope of buying him back - Loan suits CCM & Celtic

Mossy don't wait get on the phone now not tomorrow.

Well what is the club going to do on the recruitment front
All clubs out buying us in the market for talent
ACL we will be a laughing joke
MC give supporters a team that will compete and you will get your bums on seats
Do not just promote youth players they are coming last

We had a pretty handy team last time and didn't get bums on seats. Let's not (as fans) imagine *we* can deliver something that we can't.

Bernie's loan fee and WeeMacs probably cancel each other out. Kwas and Flores should be covered by insurance

With Flores out I want to be like people on other forums and be unrealistic. We have lost WeeMac, Kwas and now Flores from our squad of 22 and our strikers seem to have lost their shooting boots.

I would like to reverse our trend of weakening in January and instead strengthen. We already have Bernie coming in for Wee-Mac. I'd love to get Rogic on loan to cover Marcos and wouldn't mind looking at Takahara who was mooted a couple of months ago for Kwas.

Finally to round it out Rostyn could return and play as CB/DM/RM. With Duke and Sainsbury likely to be looking OS either now or at the end of the season and Rostyn looking to return to the HAL he could be the type of utility player we could use. We could probably sign him on a fairly low wage for this year and reward him next year as a number of players retire or are releasedi

Well things don't seem to have moved our way. Tommy looks to be on his way to Victory and Rostyn to Perth. Come on Mossy - get in there - let's not miss the boat.

Herald Sun reckons Victory are in the key spot to get it done, but still mentions us and Sydney FC as being interested.

While was do have the extra games - It's unlikely he'd play in all of them. With the short turn arounds & travel it could be demanding especially for a guy short on playing time & injury prone (if we believe he's always injured at Celtic). The club also like to rotate where possible during this part of the season. That said we could promise him he plays those higher quality games & misses A League games if a rest is required.

At the end of the day MV & SFC have to much money compared to us & our extra games is probably not enough to get us over the line.

As for playing time all 3 would play him as much as possible (Del Piero would probably drop deeper) so not really a great angle we trying there.

Goodluck - At least we trying

Ian Hogg, a left back, is training with the Mariners according to the Advocate - he was cut by Ernie Merrick from Wellington Phoenix so isn't the highest pedigree; cover for Rosey with Neill injured?

Rogic will go to Victory. Sydney are out of the race, Pignata said earlier today they only wanted to sign him on a longer term deal, not a loan, and this wasn't an option. I feel any reports that say we're in the race are nothing but a feeble attempt from us to save a bit of face.

http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/a-league/news/1178884/Rogic-seals-Victory-loan-switch

The short-term future of Tom Rogic has been settled with Australia's rising star sealing a loan move to Melbourne Victory.

Celtic midfielder Rogic - who needs game time to seal his place in Australia's 2014 FIFA World Cup squad - is expected to make his debut for Kevin Muscat's men against Sydney FC at Etihd Stadium on Sunday week.

Ironically, it was the Sky Blues who earlier this week tabled a bid to bring Rogic back on a long-term deal but Celtic knocked back the offer, paving the way for Victory to pounce in a deal which will see him stay with the club until May.

With Victory's fellow creative midfielder Mitch Nichols heading to J.League club Cerezo Osaka, Rogic - expected to arrive in Australia early next week - will also be registered by coach Muscat as part of his AFC Asian Champions League squad.

Celtic is expected to officially confirm the switch for the 21-year-old it signed a year ago from Central Coast Mariners within the next 24 hours.

Rogic's London-based lawyer-agent Daniel Berman confirmed Sydney's earlier interest in Rogic to Celtic, explaining: "I understand that Sydney made contact with Celtic, who were not willing to sell the player.

"In those circumstances, it was never a matter for our consideration."

He declined, however, to comment further on Rogic's situation.

The player - who still has over three years left on his Celtic contract - will be relieved that the saga over his immediate furure has been resolved in a deal which was ratified by all parties on Friday night.

He will now have the opportunity to play the games which will hopefully see him hit the ground running in Brazil in June where Australia has been drawn to face Spain, Netherlands and Chile in its group.

Rogic has made just 14 first-team appearances at Parkhead - and only five starts - but he is match fit after recovering from a series of niggling injuries.
