ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Bring in Shane Sherriff on loan.
Siep hasn`t set the world on fire & isn`t in the same class as Dutchy.
Shane`s an experienced central/left defender & can play midfield.
Sainsbury could then push up into the defensive midfield roll (as suggested earlier) with Monty as the other DM
Bernie takes Weemacs spot & bob`s your mother!

Eddie Bosnar is a central defender to think about. I'd love to see him in the HAL and I think he wants to play back here.
Don't know what his wage expectations are though.

I thought he did quite well for Suwon when we played them. I'd be keen for that, might fix our defensive woes.

Still, most importantly we need a really good versatile midfielder who can keep the ball and not cough it up to the opposition constantly.

Bosnar would be ideal. He was interviewed recently and has a surprising knowledge of the A League; he made comment that he particularly enjoyed the way Patrick played...
He is looking for an A League gig; there was a rumour he had agreed terms with a club but no comments have appeared since.

Agree that his free kicks are top drawer... but I'd have Patrick in my team over Bosnar any day of the week.

Thinking about a replacement for Kwasnik.
Richard Porta. He does score goals and wants to play for the Socceroos. In a World Cup year for a chance to "get on the radar" he might be willing to take a relatively low wage or short term injury replacement contract. Some think this guy is a potential striker for the NT. He's worth a shot.

I would always pick Porta up in Football Manager games past when playing the Mariners. No idea why he isn't trying to muscle into the Soccerroos by returning to Aus.

would Porta even be eligible to don the green and gold if he has played for Uruguay?

In any case, I just cant see it happening, isn't he now well into his 30's?

As far as filling Kwasnik's position, if a player could be found that fit the budget and the prevalent hole at the front of the field that none of the contracted players seem to be able to fill then yes, sign someone up, if not, if I were owner/manager I would leave it be.

I am sure Kwasnik was only offered a one year contract and doubt he will be offered another for next season. I have mixed feelings about this, I was always hot and cold on him and realistically don't care if he doesn't take to the field again, however, he was a true club man (regardless of his stint in NZ) and for that I will respect what he has done for our club. Not sure how well he managed the Kanwal country premier league team but maybe he needs to switch his focus solely to management

He was born in 1983 so will turn 31 this year.
As far as I understand the FIFA eligibility rules (not sure that I do) he can play for the Socceroos.
