ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Kwassie is saying he will now focus his attention on preparing for next pre season.
Please Kwas, retirement. Don't do a Mrdja. 2 yrs of no football does not bode well for next yr. You know it will only be a matter of time before the next injury.

I honestly don't see him breaking back into the first team. Will break my heart to see him come off the bench and be so out of his depth. The league is improving and his injuries will hamper him.

Might be better if he focuses on being ready for the NSWPL preseason...

. i don't begrudge any of the guys for taking the opportunities presented to them (arnie, clarkie, mikey or bernie) ... but we need a midfielder. losing our best for another striker is not likely to fix our problems of keeping and successfully moving the ball

. no dis-respect to bernie but he was a striker until arnie pushed him into a wide forward/winger/midfielder ... whatever anybody wants to call it. we already have seven on the books ... and listed on the teams website ... as forwards

. i realise none of this is simple (and i have over-simplified things), but we are still playing with only one 'up-front' which means a lot of compromises are being made in our play to accommodate the personnel we have

Surely his contract finishes at the end of this season?
He has been a great character with the Mariners, one of my favourite players, but his time is surely done. He should hang up the boots like Brad Porter and concentrate on his coaching badges.
He was awesome in the GF against Brisbane; stick with the good memories Kwassie and retire gracefully.

Kwas cant play like Ryan Giggs.
In all reality hes not even as good as Nik Mrdja was. Hes with us because of the club we are, he's probs cheap, has scored many goals for us & is part of the family. He really doesnt add anything to this side on the field unless he is scoring goals every other game & we've never had that in any striker except for last year.
Besides all that, we dont need another faux goal scorer, we need midfield support for Flores.

Time to retire I think.
From the link:
"Club management will be considering its options over the coming weeks in regards to potentially adding an injury replacement player to its squad in place of Kwasnik."

I wonder how likely this is considering the financial situation? We really need an injection of midfield quality especially with the ACL coming up.
If the club does sign a replacement I hope they dig deep and get a player who genuinely strengthens the squad.

Injury replacements have to be like for like position wise. FFA rule. Will have to be a forward.

. no reason to over-think things ... we already have seven 'forwards' on the books including kwas ... and to my eyes all of them have played in the 'midfield'

. logic says ... bring bernie in as a short term injury replacement for kwas (he is still contracted in china afterall) - the timing could be perfect ... and like for like so the ffa can't complain

. we then have mikey's position to fill with a 'genuine' midfielder

Anybody think Rogic would be a good idea?

Call him a sort of forward, get FFA to help arrange a loan deal as an injury replacement and help with financials.

All in the interests of the national team of course.

We would put ourselves out in the national interest to ensure he got plenty of game time (both A League and ACL) leading up to the World Cup.
